There was a whole extra layer concrete and brick that was underneath some sections. This added a ton of time and effort, but Aldo didn't think twice about taking care of it. The team was prompt and communicated well. They took steps to protect my home from debris and cleaned up well after it was all done. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

SINKHOLE SOLVED! I…read morecan't recommend Aldo and his team more. We had a sinkhole in our backyard from a removed large tree that we had removed years ago. I submitted a request for bids on Yelp and Aldo properly responded. While I was waiting to gather more contact s for bids Aldo reached out to me after 2 to 3 days to see if I was still interested, so I could tell that he had follow through and took his business seriously. Good sign. I was initially hesitant to use him due to the name of the company. I had it in my mind that I needed a landscaper to correct the sink hole, but I was wrong. Upon meeting, Aldo I was impressed with his punctuality and friendliness. He gave us a very fair bid for the amount of work to be done. My wife and I felt that he was the right fit and asked him when he could start. He had his crew began the work within two hours of signing a contract that day. They came in on budget, finished the work in the agreed upon timeline and returned the landscaping to pristine condition. It really is wonderful to see a business who takes their jobs seriously and puts so much attention on the customer and doing a great job. Aldo is the man!

We had an excellent experience working with JR and his team at PCR Construction on a major backyard…read moreproject that included removal and construction of a new retaining wall and stairs and replacing our fence on a very steep hillside backyard in SF. From the beginning, JR was responsive and transparent. His quote was clear and fair, and we were very happy with his communication throughout the project. His crew was equally impressive: respectful, efficient, and professional, and they cleaned up the site every single day. We were working under a tight timeline, and PCR completed the job perfectly on time, which feels incredibly rare these days, especially considering we slightly expanded the scope of the fence project mid-way through. What really set them apart was how thoughtful and empathetic they were, taking care to work around an old, special tree to make sure it stayed healthy, and going above and beyond on small details like using extra wood and concrete to patch areas that needed it around the yard. One note though: if there are any plants you want to preserve, make sure to point them out so they know to work around them. Luckily I wasn't attached to any of my plants (except the tree) since many of them were destroyed this process. We were also very impressed with how the team handled feedback. When we weren't fully happy with the first set of stairs that were poured, they redid them in a day and the final result turned out great. The retaining wall and stairs look fantastic, and the new fence is beautifully done and clearly built to last for many years. Overall, this was a smooth, stress-free experience with a contractor who clearly takes pride in his work and stands by it. We would absolutely recommend JR and PCR Construction and wouldn't hesitate to work with them again.

Before choosing PCR Demo & Services, we went through 8 different bids. We really took our time to…read moreunderstand each one, looking at pricing, the process, timelines, and scope. We had a lot of work to do, and even though some landscapers came in with lower prices, they did not give us the confidence that they truly understood the project. We ended up choosing JR because he clearly knew what he was talking about and had real experience with full landscaping projects. Our project was a big one. We needed a structured retaining wall for our backyard terrace, a full redo of our front yard with artificial grass, and new concrete work in front of our garage. Throughout the entire process, JR and his team were professional, respectful, and easy to communicate with. They kept us updated, asked for our input, and made us feel like we were working together instead of just handing off a job. We have worked with contractors in the past who did not offer any guidance at all, and we later paid the price for those mistakes. JR and his team took care of our home like it was their own, always covering areas to prevent damage or dirt. That alone already set them apart from many others we have worked with. JR also took the time to share his thoughts on what would look best and what would be the most structurally sound. He never pushed us in any direction. He simply shared what he has seen work well over the years, and we honestly appreciated that. Most of the time, we ended up taking his advice because we knew it came from real experience. Another thing we were grateful for is how open he was to fixing or tweaking anything once a section was done. There was never any hesitation. It gave us a lot of trust in the whole process. I strongly recommend PCR Demo & Services to anyone looking for real expertise, solid craftsmanship, and a team that genuinely cares about the quality of their work. We are very happy with how everything turned out and would absolutely work with them again.

Working with Athos was a Joy! Our home had some serious water damage from our upstairs neighbors,…read moreand Athos walked us through every step he and his crew could take to restore our home. He was easily reachable and if we found some material at a different price was able to match. Our home looks amazing and our son loves his restored room. If you're considering working with Remodeling Heroes, I want to share my experience so you can make…read morean informed decision. I went into this project expecting a typical general contractor setup--where a GC manages the project and brings in licensed, specialized trades (electricians, plumbers, etc.) for their respective scopes. That's not how this company operates. Remodeling Heroes functions more as a sales and coordination layer. In my case, the entire project was effectively handed off to another GC, who then brought in a small crew to execute all aspects of the work--plumbing, electrical, framing, drywall, finish carpentry, everything. These crews are not dedicated specialists brought in for each trade. Instead, they operate as generalist teams handling the full scope of work themselves, and working across multiple projects for different companies at the same time rather than exclusively with Remodeling Heroes. That structure has real consequences. First, the quality reflects the lack of specialization. Work that typically requires deep trade-specific expertise was handled by a general crew, and it showed in repeated mistakes, code issues, and rework across multiple phases of the project. Second, it creates a misaligned incentive structure. Based on documentation I received during the project, a substantial portion of the contract appears to be retained by Remodeling Heroes, with the actual work performed by a subcontracted crew operating under tighter budget constraints. That dynamic encourages speed and cost-cutting over precision, and reduces the level of accountability you'd expect when licensed specialists are responsible for their own work. There's also an added layer of separation between you and the people actually doing the work. In practice, this led to a pattern where details were missed, installation instructions weren't followed, and decisions made during planning didn't consistently make it to the field. I also had to actively supervise and correct work in real time to prevent further mistakes. One of the more concerning aspects was around code compliance and basic installation practices. Multiple code-related issues were identified and corrected by me--not by the contractor. In several cases, I had to research requirements, point the crew to manufacturer installation instructions, and explain how things should be installed correctly. This shouldn't be the homeowner's responsibility, and it contributed to rework, delays, and compromised outcomes. To give a sense of what this looked like in practice, here are a few representative examples: - Unsafe structural work (failure to properly shore load-bearing elements): During structural work, the crew removed two load-bearing supports without properly shoring the structure above first, which led to issues upstairs. Proper shoring was explicitly included in the agreed scope ("prepare shoring for the existing beam"), so this was not a judgment call--it's a basic requirement for safe structural work. - Pocket door installed incorrectly (ignored manufacturer instructions): The pocket door system was installed incorrectly because the framers did not follow the manufacturer's instructions. This wasn't discovered until later, requiring the wall to be reopened and the installation redone. Additionally, the framing itself was incorrect, forcing a switch to a smaller door to make the opening work--adding rework late in the project. - Shower valve installed incorrectly behind finished tile: The shower valve was installed incorrectly and not caught until after the tile was fully completed, just before final inspection (another case where the instruction manual wasn't followed). At that point, the only viable fix involves opening the wall from the opposite side, since removing finished tile would cause significant damage. This reflects a lack of quality control on rough plumbing before closing walls. - Consistently poor finish quality (framing, drywall, paint): The overall finish quality throughout the project was well below professional standards: Walls are not square and several corners are not plumb, Drywall showed screw pops within weeks of completion, Taping, mudding, and sanding were poorly executed, Paint lines are uneven and sloppy These were not isolated issues but part of a consistent pattern of rushed and careless workmanship. Separately, there was also a serious trust issue during the project. One of the workers stole approximately $2,000 worth of my tools over time, which I was able to catch with security cameras. After this, I later saw the same individual working on another nearby project associated with Remodeling Heroes. I won't speculate beyond what I directly observed, but it was concerning to see that situation unresolved. This setup may not be obvious when you first engage with the company--but it had a significant impact on how the project was executed.
