I had been going to this practice for roughly 5 years and I've had many different types of…read moreinsurance. My current plan is absolutely a Cadillac-type of plan and it's a PPO. This all changed today and I want to warn others, not because I think there's a problem with the medical review, but office operations and policy for the office are in a word concerning. When making an appointment, I received a text from the office asking me to "text a screenshot of my medical card" so they could verify coverage. This was extremely disconcerting in an age of identity theft and personal information security breach. Despite this, I complied with the request and informed the office assistant that I would review my concerns with the doctor because this was highly irregular. The office assistant informed me "I truly don't I can do much with just your insurance card. I would need all your medical information." What I was trying to point out wasn't that she would personally do anything with my information, but that the possibility of a patient's information residing on someone's personal smartphone wasn't probably the best policy. I again emphasized that if that information would be lost, the doctor would be liable. Two minutes later, this was followed up by another text, "I will delete the image now that it's in your chart" and that the alternative for sending a screenshot was to drive to the doctor's office prior to my visit as they were trying to save me from an advanced trip. Funny, when I had changed my insurance in the past this was never an issue. I didn't respond to this text and again, complied with the request without further issue. One hour later, I receive a text "after conferring with the office and completing a full cost-benefit analysis - it was decided that perhaps you should find another practice that suits your needs better than Associated Medicine Physicians. We took the liberty of canceling your visit. Be well." I wanted to post this here because it's important for both customer and doctors to understand how serious securing personal information is in today's world. Most data breaches happen not because the original intent of the information by the initial parties was to do something detrimental. Rather, data breaches happen often because those handling it either aren't completely clear about the limits and extent to which the technology their using (assumed deletion) can be used against them by bad actors, or, most common, unintentional transfer of information usually done unknowingly. Regardless It's important to call this out because no one wants to turn on the news or read online they were unintentionally a victim of a data breach. Dr. Levy is a good doctor. However, I'd think twice before sending my personal data via text to an office assistant if I were still a patient with the practice.

Though review to write. The Doctor and exam were great! The billing process was, and 2 years later…read moreis still, a nightmare. I was told my Medicare covered the exam. Upon completion of the exam I was told I owed an additional $200, actually $400 because my wife also was tested. Fast (?) forward 1 year and I recieve a bill for $200 for my wife's exam, thatt I already paid for, but no bill for my identical procedure. Contacted their office and was told billing would contact me later that week. 6 months later got a second bill. I will spare you the rest but the short version is 2 years + after the exam North Side has recieved payments from Medicare, me, and from my insurance carrier. I shoud have recieved a refund from North Side because I paid a balance that my insurance company covered. I don't expect a refund but do expect to receive another bogus bill in a few months.

I switched to Advanced Sleep Therapy after dealing with another service for about eight years. I…read moreloved working with my longtime respiratory therapist and was hesitant to change. They moved her to another location, so that took the only positive out of the equation. I had supply orders never delivered. I had an order placed in November It was not mailed or billed until after January 1. I had to pay 100% instead of zero because a new year means a new deductible. After my physician recommended that I switch to Advanced Sleep Therapy, I gave them a call. They suggested that I switched to a new CPAP and showed me how to use it. I have slept better than I ever did with my previous unit. Advanced Sleep Therapy is the best provider in the area! I am grateful to my physician for his recommendation.

This is more a review of the billing department than the service provided at the location, but I…read morefeel strongly that the billing department needs to seriously re-evaluate its approach to customer service. After my daughter was treated there, they sent a bill to a wrong address (my ex wife's instead of mine), and then when it wasn't paid immediately contacted a collection agency. I paid the bill in full as soon as the collection showed up on my credit report, and asked them to contact the collection agency to remove the collection from my credit report because they never sent me a bill. The billing department (which I now understand is outsourced) wouldn't return my calls, then told me it "wasn't their problem" and even yelled at me. I explained this situation to the collection agency and they agreed to have it deleted from my credit report. So why IBJI wouldn't do this for me is beyond my comprehension. Once again, there was no dispute over billing, and I paid the bill as soon as I knew it existed, but they refused to help me, were unresponsive and even just plain rude. Hopefully someone at IBJI will read this and make sure that their billing department learns some basic customer service before they lose more clients.

Extremely rude and difficult to communicate with. All of the women in this office are short with me…read morewhen I have questions, and I was literally yelled at over the phone for trying to get an answer to a simple question. The woman on the phone was so unprofessional, saying things like "it's funny how patients call back after all this time to try to refute a charge" and "you're just one of those people who doesn't want to pay." I had called to ask for a breakdown of what I was being charged for. I received a $180 bill for going into their office and talking to the doctor for less than 5 minutes. No tests done or anything. Haven't been back since then and I received another $280 bill for who knows what? Also very inconvenient - their business number is just someone's cell phone and they will have you playing phone tag just to make an appointment. Instead of yelling at your patients when they're unhappy or confused, maybe you should try listening and fixing your attitudes.
