They sent me the wrong gear and then denied it, even though I sent a photo of the wrong gear? Take a video as you open the package! In addition to my insurance; I have paid cash for $100's worth of gear over the past few years. The backstory; I was called at 9am one morning by a person who fills the orders. We started discussing what I was able to receive via my insurance coverage. I mentioned that I had already submitted an order for a cushion last week that she could cancel it. It was with a brand new staff member. Her reply was "do you want me to cancel this new larger order?". I said, "no, I'm just alerting you." She said again, " I can cancel this order. Once again, I said "no, I just thought you may want to know?". Then she said, "ok. I'll cancel this order." I lose it, and ask her why do you keep saying that you are going to cancel?" Her reply, " that employee is new." I'm hanging on by a thread. "Just send this order please". "Let's just end this call on that positive note, I have never had a problem with ordering, before this new staff." I hung up the phone exhausted and realized this person was gaslighting me! I call the Founding Partner / Owner, John Kissane. John said his office was next door and could hear the bizarre call. Jump two months later, I call in my order to the long-time, wonderful front desk person. I received my order and it's incorrect. I call and am asked to send a photo to confirm. I received a call from John minutes later. He says that "we sent you the correct item." The staff member that gaslit me, has verified that she is confident she sent the correct item. I ask him, "then where did the wrong product originate from?" John replies, "you must have received it from your precious supplier." I'm stunned, he is accusing me of lying." I pretend I do not know the woman he mentioned. I ask him if the woman claiming she is sure, is the person I called him about. He actually says, "I do not know what you are talking about..." I checked the bill and it says SIGN & RETURN. I have never been asked to do that before on a shipment, only in the office? They are just playing with me. How could I sign for the wrong item?? This company is NOT a Better Business Bureau accredited business, so you can not leave a review there, and that speaks volumes! Now I have to contact my insurance company and go online to locate a $90+ item and throw the wrong item in the trash.. read more

Very bad demeanor - CPAP machines are priced so high (3 times the market price) and abuse the loop holes in corrupted insurance industry. Same equipment can be bought much cheaper. Customer service is extremely poor - they don't even give an option but submit claims after 6-8 months and cash out from customer's inability to timely follow up. read more

I switched to Advanced Sleep Therapy after dealing with another service for about eight years. I loved working with my longtime respiratory therapist and was hesitant to change. They moved her to another location, so that took the only positive out of the equation. I had supply orders never delivered. I had an order placed in November It was not mailed or billed until after January 1. I had to pay 100% instead of zero because a new year means a new deductible. After my physician recommended that I switch to Advanced Sleep Therapy, I gave them a call. They suggested that I switched to a new CPAP and showed me how to use it. I have slept better than I ever did with my previous unit. Advanced Sleep Therapy is the best provider in the area! I am grateful to my physician for his recommendation. read more

Horrible customer service. My insurance and I were billed for four items several weeks ago, yet only received three. I've emailed multiple times for an explanation and finally received a reply this morning stating they have already responded to my inquiry and I can call them for explanation. I prefer any explanation in writing. A response was NEVER received. This was a complete lie. They have ignored my requests for explanation. Why didn't their response this morning provide me proof of previous response if there was one, or simply repeat the explanation? Because it's a lie. I have been given this company (Advanced Sleep Therapy) from my sleep therapist and am very disappointed with their services. They don't set up anything well, have little to no idea how to fulfill an order and today after two weeks of waiting called to ask if what they sent arrived which it hasn't. Now it's again the weekend and nothing will move forward until Monday. When I have called my phone calls are poorly answered at best. The company is lost and nothing gets better. This company is up to something and not anything that is good. You purchase equipment, yet they charge you rental fees. What their billing charges on rental fees is different then they place in writing, or in other words they charge as they please. They offer a 30 day mask fit guarantee which I assumed is if mask #1 does not work, you get another one at no charge. You do get another one but there is a charge. And they then bill more as they stated they made an error and did not charge enough. Jody who is the billing person, she has no idea what is going on and you have to repeat many times to her and she still has no understanding on the billing except to state, our bills are difficult to understand. No, it is they just bill want ever they please and ignore all their paperwork. The tech for fitting the mask is a good person and knows how to fit the mask, but has no training from the manufacturer on how the machine works, the errors and faults of the machine. read more

When 1st referred to them, I was under the impression they were the only place I could purchase my CPAP supplies, that accepted my insurance. They were nice until they got the insurance money for the machine. Being new to the entire CPAP experience and exhausted to begin with, I think I was pretty patient. But, after nearly throwing the machine against the wall and not getting any help or answers from them, I finally lost my patience. I was fitted for a better mask. Phone calls to them in the future for something as simple as reordering supplies were always ridiculous. The calls are screened as if they are CIA or something and all I wanted to do was basically hand them money. When I was able to speak to someone I was always made out to be ignorant. Look, I'm the end user... they are the supplier. If I tell you I need I mask, don't ask me technical questions as if I know what you're talking about. I actually gave them 3 stars only because I have new insurance now. I've come to learn that most of these places are horrendous. They seem to be the lesser evil of some of the other really, really bad places. read more

I have been with AST for several years. My machine needed work. I'm due for a new one November 2019. The were very slow at getting back to me about my repairs. I called my Insurance company who said repairs would be covered except for labor. Well that is when the trouble started. They refused to deal with or call my insurance company. I was told they don't do that. John was a nasty individual. He told me not to have my insurance company call him. He doesn't deal with insurance co. at all. He complained that I called him 4 times in one day. He told me that he no longer would do business with me leaving me high and drive. I got my machine back finally. John also reminded me multiple times that they did everything they could and gave me a free loaner. I was extremely ill and could not go out and get around. He complained that Mike had to come to my house twice to help me. I live 5 minutes from there. I landed in the hospital that day and had a 103 fever and a blood infection. They achieve heights of incompetence previously unknown to humankind. How many times did I call them about an error in my bill? Two times? No. Three times? No. It took 5 calls talking to three different people before these dimwits managed to fix the problem. Each time we'd call, the answer would be the same: Oh, we just switched to a new billing system. Today Mike met me at work to introduce me to my new ResMed CPAP machine. It was a Great experience. He took the time to explain to me all the functions of the unit. How to maintain it and adjust it. He fitted me with the mask. I would Highly recommend AST to anyone. read more

My husband and I previously went here for respiratory equipment in 2008 but due to insurance issues, had to use another vendor. Fast forward several years later. Hubby's machine needed a repair. I forgot we had gone here and called the new vendor. Made appointment to see new vendor (not new really, just since 2010) , drove to Schaumburg to meet with the respiratory therapist, who told me they would not repair it because we didn't buy it from them. I left the office of the new vendor (a well-known, large national vendor) frustrated. Husband called me and reminded me that we got the machine from AST. I called AST, spoke to John. He was able to see me immediately, no appointment since I just needed a loaner. I dropped in on my way home from large corporate healthcare vendor. Unlike said vendor, AST will send equipment in for repair, even if not purchased from them! And, they now are back on our insurance, so that was a pleasant surprise. Excellent place to purchase a CPAP machine at a great price. I was originally recommended to go to a place where the price was 4 times as much as I paid. My high deductible did not make sense so I looked around and found this place. My insurance was not accepted here but the price being only 25% of what the other place wanted, it was a ridiculously easy decision. They do accept insurance but just not mine. They took time explaining the device and making sure everything was right. Appointment is required. So far so good! I feel very refreshed after my first night. While the staff is very nice, they were incapable of fitting me properly for a CPAP mask. While they offer a 30-day mask fit guarantee, I am outside that time and still have air blasting my eyelids open. They called back to tell me they will try again - but it will now cost me $150 out of pocket. Advanced Sleep Therapy is the second respiratory equipment provider that I've dealt with. Mikhael came to my home for initial set-up over a year ago and spent almost two hours with me setting up my equipment, fitting my mask, explaining how to use and clean it properly. After six months it was time to replace my tubing and explained that I was have some comfort issues with my mask. Again Mikhael was dispatched to my home to fit me with a new mask and nasal pillows. Follow-up calls a week or so after you get new equipment are standard unlike other providers I've dealt with. AST has ALWAYS been responsive to my needs and I can't recommend them highly enough. They know the meaning of customer service and do everything in their power to ensure you don't lose sleep (no pun intended....) worrying about whether you will have what you need quickly and whether it will work for you. read more

They where able to provide a replacement CPAP machine and supplies quickly and efficiently, the folks are friendly and can provide great customer service. I used them for several years, until I was moved onto Medicare and AST unfortunately is not a approved suppler. So, instead we ended up with Apria who lacks any idea as to what customer service is. read more

I have had a very unsatisfactory experience with them. I have called at least 3 times over the past month, and am always told that someone will get back to me soon to tell me when they are coming to pick up the Cpap machine they delivered back in June - it never happens. Though they say I will not be charged since I told them I was no longer using it, I got a bill last month for over $100 for a period during which I may have used it once or twice, so I have little confidence in that. I turned out to be allergic to the mask itself, which resulted in my having to drive out there and pick up what looked like a dust cloth with a hole cut in it that slid around all night and still resulted in a face rash. I was then told to drive back out there and try a cloth mask. This resulted in whooshing sounds emanating from the hose and later the machine began saying it was not registering properly. When I called about this, the same employee who fitted me for that mask and had claimed would call me the next day to see how I was doing sounded annoyed that I had called again. I was told "I cannot come to your house and hold your hand." Another time, I was told to "be quiet and listen" when I was trying to interject only to explain that what the person was assuming I was about to say was not at all. Several employees either were on Cpap or were closely connected to someone who is. They both gave me the impression that they felt that anyone who was having problems adjusting to this machinery was at fault. I felt they had very little compassion for my problems and as a result I have elected to take my chances without it. Frankly, I feel as though I have slept a little better ever since! read more
