Worst customer service experience I've ever encountered. Their goal is the reassure you that they will fix everything to your face and then never follow up on fixing anything. They don't call you back, return your emails, or do anything they claim they'll finish. They'll say things to convince there isn't a problem even though their company agreed to fix them in the purchase agreement for the home. They'll also claim to have cleaned your home prior to your move in and there is pee all around the base of the toilet in the basement when nobody else could've done it. You notify them and they do absolutely nothing. You'll also do your blue tape walk through where you identify issues to be fixed prior to move in and half of the tape is just pulled off, but the issue wasn't fixed or the tape was missed by the contractor. Then when you walk through prior to move in, you'll ask about it and they'll say "oh yeah, we only get one chance for cosmetic fixes. You can always just do it". With all that being said they never apologize, take responsibility for any screw up, or remedy the problem. They throw up their hands and says "that'll be ok" or "that's really not a problem". They ruined the house buying experience and I am now in a house I can't even enjoy. I'm literally counting down the days to be able to sell it without taking a loss. read more

We had our 1yr walk through yesterday 3/25/25 and this is my public record of during the walk through a personal item in the upstairs bathroom has gone missing. It grew legs and walked away on its own, isnt that something? Now why on earth would they take something with DNA on it? Might it have to do with the Google review i posted about them online and what a awful company they've become? I can imagine the vicious, vindictive, malicious plans they were hoping to use it for revenge possibly? Remember truth is often stranger than fiction for all critical thinkers out there. My Google review lines up with the others on here in regards to the poor quality construction and even worse customer service after purchasing. We moved in August 2023 in WF we had a walk through of the house to find imperfections with blue painters tape so those issues can be fixed by Thomsen and that took an act of God and a lot of complaining and after 5 months those things finally fixed sort of speak. The backyard had a bad water drainage problem whichever turned our backyard into a swampy muddy mess and we where told this would be addressed and in spring of 2024 and they would have their landscaping company come and it taken care of properly I reached out them 3 times with no action taken and it now almost July and still nothing. The did even clean the patio concrete pad so we had to do that ourselves This has been a terrible experience when buying a brand new home shame on me for selecting Thomsen Homes. read more

Office people are professional, but the builders have questionable ethics. Our experience started out ok, then went downhill quickly. Lack of communication and complaints from the builder about doing their job properly when shoddy work is called out. We discovered inadequate insulation in several areas of the home and flooring improperly installed. Another home in our neighborhood hadn't been properly dried out after the basement took on water during the building process and had to be bought back by Thomsen and resold after mold repair. There are many better places to buy a new home from than this company in the area. read more

wish I could leave 0 stars. They didn't think to put in a water main line on the other side of the street before they started building, so they are now digging up everyone's yard to run water. No communication to the homeowners. Awful company and I won't ever buy from them again. read more

We built our house with Thomsen Homes 09/15/2020. Our house was finished on time which was great, and they have been helpful with our warranty. However, whe we moved in they built our kitchen island so it did not fit our dishwasher causing damage to the cabinet. when we originally filed on builder trend, they did not repair the cabinet - just placed new stain. We called and complained and then they finally fixed it correctly. Overall before building a house with them I recommend getting an extensive contractor education. When building our home we did and electrical walk through and were advised the lighting in the bathroom that came with included fixtures would be more than enough and to not spend extra. lighting was important to us, so we did end up adding lighting to the master, but not our guest. When we started using our guest bath we found out that if you try and use the shower you stand in the dark. Thomsen's only advice was to get a fan light fixture. Upsetting, given we were assured this would not be an issue. For our HVAC we have a two story home. We have to shut all of the air vents on our main level to shunt air to our upper level to make it bearable in the summer months. We consulted a HVAC company to see what could be done, they told us our contractor should have advised us when building to get a split or separate HVAC unit for our home given the two levels. To fix it now we will need to replace the entire system. When we contacted Thomsen Homes about our concern as to why this was not brought up in a design meeting, we were told that is an upgrade and is up to us to bring up. Not sure how the general public would know this is something to bring up. Finally, the biggest complaint with Thomsen is with our garage. When initially planning to build our house we wanted a full 3 stall garage, but were advised we would need to purchase a larger lot and that would be around 30,000 dollars. This seemed too much, so we did not pursue further and were not offered other options. We still upgraded our garage with larger garage doors, heating garage, adding floor drain as well as adding hot and cold water. After our build was completed we found out we could have elongated our garage 2,000 dollars for every 2 feet. Again, this was not brought up in our build. The current size of garage makes it difficult for us to park our pickup, as we have to keep the garage doors open to walk around the pick up because it is so tight. Our pickup is standard, no extended bed. When we talked with Thomsen, they told us again that this is something we should have asked for at our design meeting as this is an upgrade. I asked how I was suppose to know this was an option when it was never presented when discussing our garage build they did not give me an answer. We hired Thomsen homes to be the contractor for our house, but apparently they expected us to have a contractors license. They seem to be in the business of quantity, not quality. I would not recommend. They have not acknowledged any fault or offered any true solutions. I will give them 2 stars, because they did finish on time. read more

Wish I chose a different builder in the Fargo area, Just remember after you close when things start going wrong which they will Thomson will first blame you the homeowner for issue even when the issue is obviously a builder issue. if you look at google reviews you can see who gets "perks' to leave 5 stars to mask the 1 star reviews from actual homeowners. read more

Biggest bang for your buck for a newly constructed home. Love all they have to offer and the great people that help you build your home. I did a lot a research on builders in Fargo and decided to go with Thomsen Homes after seeing all they had to choose from. I will be recommending Thompsen Homes to my friends and family! read more

There were countless issues with this new home and nothing was getting fixed. We were forced to hire a private inspector to detect the source of major water leakage, damage and black mold! We were also forced to take legal action to recoup some of our expenses. Service like this is ridiculous and should never be acceptable when spending a quarter million dollars. Please avoid the hell we went through and go to another builder. There are some good ones out there despite these unscrupulous ones staining the Fargo market. read more

They seem to care about not only their clients, but also their developments and in giving back to their community. Thomsen homes thrives in cutting corners. Poorly put together homes, lack of quality, lack of craftsmanship, lack of communication, lack of customer service, and lack of professionalism. I had a list a mile long of repairs needed after I moved in. A coworker and a relative went Thomsen as well, same results. I'd go Eid-co before Thomsen, that says a lot. read more
