Great customer service! I had a great experience. We be using them again. Definitely recommend!read more

I sent my husband flowers for Valentines Day using FTD. I realize that around this holiday,, a lot…read moreof florists will be busy filling as many orders as they can, working on filling direct store orders, as well as the orders from different nationwide floral services. But even when they are busy, the florists would STILL need to have everything necessary to fill any orders coming in from FTD. (There's a very little bit of leeway for MINOR details, like accent flowers or green filler, but not the main flowers or accessories that the arrangement would come with, such as teddy bears, coffee mugs, special message planters, balloons and anything else of that nature.). The sizes of the bouquet must also match what is in the description on the FTD website, because that measurement is used to determine both costs the customer can afford AND space where the bouquet will be displayed in the customer's home. The main goal is to make the arrangement look almost identical to the one on the website. If the florist DOESN'T have the ability to make a particular FTD arrangement , they must call FTD to have themselves taken off the list for that bouquet because they couldn't fill that order properly. This is done so there is consistency across the nation for what to expect when ordering from FTD. (I worked for 8 years at a florist during high school and college, in both the call center and on the arrangement floor.) Having said that, I can tell you that the delivery of his Valentine's Day flowers were not recognizable as the arrangement I had ordered. I know they were rushing to get it done, but this delivery was made on the 13th. I would have been fine with the 14th delivery if it meant that the arrangement would be done right. There were SEVERAL startling things that caught my eye immediately. There were no stargazers in the arrangement, which would have lent a nice contrast of color between the bright fuchsia flower and its white stripe. I also love the smell of stargazers. I do understand that substitutes can be made, but it would have been nice if it complimented the other flowers instead of overpowering them. There was some sort of lily, but most of the pods weren't opened yet, and the ones that were revealed more of a mauve color. (Note: This color DOESN'T go with red well. The pods were very muted on the outside and the inside was just a more intense mauve.) Another thing that struck me immediately was the fact that the green filler almost overpowered the flowers, which made the greenery into the focal point. I had to get up really close--almost directly above it--to find the roses. They roses were really hidden among the really large and cumbersome lily stalks. I took a picture of it that night, with a wine bottle next to the arrangement similar to one of the pictures on the FTD website. The sizes weren't even close. There were only 12 roses--6 pink and 6 red. I would have thought there would be more, because there was one bouquet on the FTD site that had 36 long stem red roses, and it cost the same as what I paid for my arrangement. Not to mention that the arrangement that got delivered to my husband was a TOTAL of $240 after taxes and delivery, but I saw a much prettier arrangement at a Shaw's grocery store with a dozen long stem roses for under $20 total. Like I mentioned previously, I had never done business with this store. After my husband got the arrangement, I looked up the florist's website. I was quite surprised to see really nice looking arrangements pictured on their web page. What we got did not reflect any artistic skill--there were short roses buried down in the middle, and if anything, the middle should also be the highest point of an arrangement. The flowers looked like they had been thrown together haphazardly, there were about 3 roses that were 1) wilting 2) losing its petals and 3) very weak. I also found that my order did not fit the description in size, as well as being a low color arrangement. It looks more like regular plans than flowers. I would have to see several REALLY NICE creations come out of there before I would even entertain the idea of trying them again.

Needed 10th wedding anniversary flowers for a best friend in Maine and had no clue where to look…read more It's been nearly 30 years since I lived in Portland and all my favorite small business flower shops that I remembered were long gone. And those that remained still seemed stuck in 1980's funereal-style arrangements... lots of mums or stargazers and filler. But Yelp helped me narrow down a few possibilities. And I was super delighted to find Fiddlehead Florals! Fiddlehead Florals checked off all my boxes... gorgeous & modern design with beautiful, sustainably-sourced and seasonal/local flower selections; excellent and easy customer service over the phone where the designer (I think owner?) listened to what I hoped to have delivered and helped me arrive at my final decision; and they worked all of this within my targeted budget without trying to just upsell me at their sales target. I found their prices very reasonable for the service, delivery, and of course their selection of beautiful flowers. Since this is a 10th Anniversary, I wanted something dramatic, colorful, and seasonal. I called with almost 2 weeks lead time, and my requested delivery to outside the Portland area was no problem. The florist who took my call was cheerful, gracious, and incredibly helpful in my decision making. We decided upon a designers choice featuring a strong peony base as these were now apparently in season (plus I knew the couple loved them). Extra Pride commendation to Fiddlehead Florals as being super accommodating for my requests for this arrangement for my gay besties celebrating a 10 year marriage milestone. Love wins!

The gal on the phone said she'd check to see if she could get a white Orchid, as she did not have one in the shop. I didn't hear back from the clerk but my Aunt did call and said she received the orchid. I don't know what it looked like as my Aunt is elderly and doesn't snap shot from her phone. I guess it was nice, I hope so. It would have been nice to receive a photo from the shop itself, since I am so far away.

As a collective group, we wanted to send her flowers regularly to remind her she was in our thoughts a prayers. This past week she passed away and I am reminded (as the contact with Fleurant Flowers) how much I valued the exceptional attention our friend was given. I grew to totally trust the designers, delivery, and contacts. Every arrangement was exceptional for the price we paid. Each arrangement was colorful, balance of flower variety and greenery, and (most important) brought our friend "hugs" and "love"

I find out later that we were charged and an arrangement was delivered. I spoke to a worker, Phil, who was rude and sarcastic during our conversation. He insisted that since it was delivered I should pay. He finally agreed to refund me when I pointed out that it didn't make sense to make me pay for their error and forwarded the email where I cancelled. I email the shop about the conversation and my husband's concern that Phil might not refund us due to his rude behavior. This morning the owner, Melissa, calls me and we have a conversation about the order and email. She was angry about the idea of having to refund me for the reasons Phil cited. She also tries to tell me that the email was unclear. She reads it back to me and I tell her that the words, "I'd like to cancel this order" are very clear. In my mind she could have convinced me into not getting a refund if she would have simply apologized for the mistake, Phil could have convinced me if he would have apologized and had been civil. She cut me off and finally told me that I was no longer welcome to order from them anymore. The arrangements are very beautiful, but Phil and Melissa were so intent on telling me it's somehow my fault rather than admitting they made a mistake. I did receive a refund. We all make mistakes, it was a weird escalation. It's strange to tell people I'm not welcome at a floral shop in Maine because they're upset at refunding an order that I had cancelled with three weeks notice. That's where it went though.

She said to come on down, and generously said she could swing it on short notice. I soon pulled in to find the most charming shop! The outside of the barn was filled with antiques for sale and on display- clever old kids toys/bikes and warm, rustic decor. Inside was inviting and filled with beauty. Silk and and cut flowers at every turn, inviting wreaths, and some sweet ocean treasures. My first impression was that Christine has an eye for style, quality and aesthetic! I requested a bouquet around $85 and she asked a few flower & color preference questions as she went along. She was lovely to chat with. I left the shop so happy with what Christine had arranged- a lovely and giant bouquet that brought my mom to tears. Thank you!
