They were very thorough in the interview process to understand our specific needs and circumstances and produced a full set of documentation and copies that spelled out our wishes. This was not in our cards. You obviously don't listen and I don't trust you. I received your letter closing my account. You're the worst attorney . I would not return to your office , nor would I give you another penny. I don't like you, and your paralegal, Rachel, who is probably half my age, needs to learn to treat people with respect. You took advantage of a sick old lady. Your appalling work speaks for you and your office. Refund my money, so I can pay another attorney to fix your mistakes. We have been here before about 20 years ago. Although the faces have changed, the service and attention to detail are excellent. Everyone is helpful and they offer a training online for making a trust and other future planning that is very helpful. Also I was given a list of information needed and what documents I needed for my appointment. By doing my homework, everything was a breeze. I came in prepared and with knowledge of what questions I needed to ask. I would recommend him to anyone. In fact, I brought my dad from Los Angeles to prepare his trust. Not impressed. This firm is very robotic in their process, they are process oriented, not people oriented. At the then of the day, they get the job done. All the documents were packaged nicely and organized nicely. The process and service was very very lacking. You pay for the template not for their guidance, care, or concern of them really trying to put your unique and individual estate needs in place. They do not take any initiative to provide any extra help or to ensure they are really covering all your families unique needs between the 1st and 2nd appt. Anything extra you have to ask for or initiate. It is clear they do hundreds of these, and they have their process and template... and from our experience we felt their goal is to get you in and out as fast as possible. If we had not spoken up and asked more questions or asked for certain things, there literally would have been 2 appts. 1 where they "discuss that they do, they ask you some questions based on your family and the info they collected from you prior to your first appt, they review their different packages and you pay in full" 2. You go in and sign and notarize your final documents. There was no extra help offered, appts or guidance provided. We had to initiate all the extra questions, clarifications, and customization we wanted for our estate plan. We also had to request to see all our documents for review and approval prior to our last meeting where it is all notarized and finalized, especially so we did not have to pay an additional $250 reprinting fee. When we asked for that we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing them and told " no one has ever asked that before" When we were initiating all our changes and questions, they did respond and answer everything and make the changes. Any questions we initiated their responses were very clear and detailed. Its just that we had to initiate everything!!! We also had to google language and reach out to other estate planning firms friends had used for "suggested language templates" or "approach ideas" in certain areas of our plan, being this firm did not provide any of that assistance or guidance. The lawyer who helped us was very very rude in one of his email responses making light of a legitimate question we had that was important to us. The girl who was helping with the process, she was very cold and not friendly at all during the final appt doing the notary. She did not say hello or smile or anything. She seems super annoyed by us. Estate planing can be a very hard and emotional process for people and some of the decisions are hard.The firm does lots of these, but they fail to Remember the clients they are helping do this once in their life. A few years ago, this law firm help us establish a Conservatorship for our disabled son. So, when we decided to set up a special needs trust we turned to them to do this for us. I saw the posts on Yelp, stating that there were issues with timeliness and with returning calls. Nevertheless, we chose them because of our previous good experience. Now I'm not so sure this was the best choice. We met with the attorney on June 14, and retained their services. On July 20, I called and asked for someone to provide status on our Trust. Nothing.....no return call, nada. Today, 8/30 (over a month later), I called and asked again what the status was. The response was that our Trust is in "draft" mode. When I asked what that meant, the response was that "we were next in line to have our draft completed and ready for our review." Yeah right. When I stated that my expectation was that the draft had been in work since June 14, I was reassured that it had been in work since then. Again, yeah right. We'll see how this plays out. So far, I'm disappointed. 9/26/16: Well -- good news. The draft was ready for our review before the date it was promised. When we met to finalize the paperwork, Mr. VonTungeln was available to answer every question we had, and there were many. Everything was completed above our expectation. So, even though there was a hiccup in the beginning, I have total confidence in this firm, and would recommend them for Living Trusts/Wills. read more
