They are a very personable and professional team. They communicate well and completed the project on time as promised. We were concerned about having to move our furniture for installation, but they assured us not to worry, they would move the furniture as needed and them move it back in place after installation. Including our grand piano!! We had a couple challenging areas, but with their expertise, they handled it beautifully. It was a pleasure working with Wes, Steve and their crew. They just did a renovation job on one of my rental properties in Makiki. It included reflooring, painting, and numerous repairs and they delivered more than they promised. They are honest, reasonable, communicative, reliable, accommodating, and best of all hardworking with great quality workmanship. These qualities are certainly challenging to find in a handyman these days but I am happy to recommend them. I worked with Donovan, the foreman who kept in touch with me everyday and sent me photos of their progress. He is professional and super friendly and I appreciate how he met me at the hardware store, shopped for all the materials, and I paid the hardware store. This way I'm not making a blind deposit for "materials" bearing the risk of the contractor taking the money and running. Once a contract is signed they did require 50% Deposit on the labor cost but the work was already in progress. They're also fully insured. A neighbor in the same building was so impressed with their work that they hired them on the spot to have their flooring redone as well! I found AllTech Professionals on Yelp through their "Obtain a Quote" process. I love Yelp for this feature as it has saved me so much time on managing my projects. They responded right away, showed up on time to the appointment, understood the tasks without overselling, we worked on the written agreement and purchased supplies the next day, and the job started the day after and was finished in the estimated timeframe they promised. Our partial remodel turned into a total home remodel including leveling floors and vaulting the ceilings.  Michael was flexible and open throughout the process and willing to incorporate all of our changes as the remodel progressed.  We are very thankful for his attention to detail, his practical suggestions to design and providing top notch quality work.  Michael has a great team.  We were very happy with his choice of electrician (Eric), plumber (Chris) and painter (Edgar), who were all very flexible, professional, and reliable.  All subcontractors were highly experienced and we felt confident their work would pass all inspections and exceeded our standards.  We are also very happy with his team who worked at the house every day.  They not only did an amazing job but were also very respectful to us as the homeowners.  The care they showed was as if they were working on their own home.  We were equally confident and impressed with all of Jake's skills including tile work, framing, deck work and all of the finishing touches inside the house. They were much more reasonably-priced than other contractors--who we couldn't afford at all--so we were wary about the old saying, "You get what you pay for" when we first hired them. Much to our relief, contractor/owner Mike and his crew delivered. They've always been very professional and efficient and they cleaned up after they were done. Mike's friendly and laid-back demeanor belies the fact that he is very organized and is juggling a million details all at once, stretched over multiple different job sites. He got the job done when he said it would be done, in the manner he said it would be. MF Construction is now our go-to contractor on Maui if/when the need arises. Feels like scam! I paid $300k!…read more I'm very angry and disappointed! I chose Island Independence because of the positive reviews I found online. Unfortunately, the reality was much worse than expected. Gabe (the owner), and Mario (the manager) sound very professional and reliable, that's why I paid them $300k already for work + hidden fees for material purchases. They had to finish the work by April 2022. Look at the pictures below. That's what I get for my money 3 months after the deadline! I don't post any undone work related to delayed materials. I just show you the quality of their work in the areas where they had all the necessary materials and time to accomplished the work in time. Despite that, they take new contracts and just postpone their work at my house over and over again. For most of the questions like "When are you planning to fix this or that?" they just ignore me! Don't believe what they say. Don't trust the positive reviews. This company could be nice 4 years ago, but now they just focus on getting as many advance payments as possible and delaying their job. Moreover, we have evidence of their workers stealing and damaging our belongings. I will be happy to change this review when I get what I paid for, compensated for the trouble and when all this madness is over. Let's see how long it takes.
