Without hesitation, Barb said she would do it. Even after I told her the home location (not the best part of town), she was still on board. She managed the expectations of the family by informing them that area of town did not typically produce high dollars at estate sales. She and Keith came in and did an amazing job of sorting, cleaning, and organizing, then making the sale happen. Keith even made multiple trips to the dump with trash. After the sale, Barb had the remaining items removed and the house was clean and ready for the sale to close within the two week time period. The family made some money to help care for my friend and the job got done quickly, efficiently, and expertly. The family was given a cash payout with a spreadsheet within a week of the sale. A lot of estate sale companies would not have taken an estate sale in this area because there just was not enough money in it for them. Barb did it without putting any limits or conditions on her commission. Since it was obvious that there were not a lot of high dollar items in the house, Barb knew she could not afford to hire help, so she and Keith did the work all by themselves, with just a little assistance from me pulling the personal items. Barb told me that they started the business to help people and that is why she remains in the business. One of the shades in the dining area began to fray at one edge. I called to report, and a tech came out. His solution was to burn off the frayed fabric with a lighter. He said if it happens again (which of course it did) to call and he would come out and check the roller. When I called, the receptionist who answered said I would be charged to send someone out. I asked for a supervisor. Jessica called me back and said this issue wasn't covered by the warranty. Total Blinds made a substantial profit from my order. Jessica said perhaps we were using that shade more than the one next to it. That wasn't the case. Even if that were true, the fraying shouldn't have happen ed if the shade was a quality product.
