This is a great place to take any American Heart Class-- BLS, PALS and ACLS. I've taken them all multiple times and learn something every time. Most of my classes have been taught by the owner John. He's a paramedic who was in the field for many years. He is practical and has entertaining stories that enhance learning and really tie things together. I am confident the equipment is clean and the environment is supportive and encouraging. Registration is super easy and cards are processed in a few days and retrieved online. There are a few places in ABQ that provide AHA training, but I would not have kept coming here for the past 8 years if this wasn't worth my time and my money. I highly recommend American CPR. read more

Come here if you'd like to learn things that school didn't even teach you. It might be a bit different than a traditional lecture, but it's super informative. You need interaction, and you learn from others who are passionate about what they're teaching. If you want actually to run a successful code, go to John. Or even if this is just for you to keep family and friends safe-- you have to come to a class. Do the thing, sign up! read more

Really great ACLS / BLS class! Really great instructor - makes the class easy to take while being super educational. He even bought us donuts and made coffee for us. Also, he follows COVID precautions during the mask mandate. Thanks for everything John! read more

Best CPR class experience! The owner is the best at what he does. He teaches from his heart and has many years kf knowledge.

This class was my second at the American CPR and I found it to be as educational, informative and engaging as the first time. John is totally knowledgeable and experienced and kept the flow of the class interesting and held my attention for the entire day. Good practical skill refresher and highly recommend! D. John is an excellent instructor, he takes time to explain the complex concepts of ACLS & PALS. John's always willing to expound on any aspect you ask him to. Most importantly, we practice the actual medical skills as a resuscitation team in these classes; drawing up medications (sterile water in this case) and double checking correct dose with classmates... Exactly the way a team should operate in real world medicine! You'll learn far more from this class and from John's instruction than from any other course in ABQ the area! read more

American CPR Training Center - Awesome training. Top quality instruction, shared practical life experience, concise and helpful stories. 5 stars. - First Aid Classes Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Great class! Fun and educational. I learn more and more everytime I go! I recommend getting your ACLS/BLS here.

Do yourself a favor and take your CPR class here. Rob was fantastic! The course was informative and fun and never took away from the importance of CPR. I can't say enough good things about this place and their team. read more

Took a PALS update course. I'm a general pediatrician who works in an ambulatory setting. Really enjoyed the course and practical tips John gave throughout the class. read more

Pick your instructor carefully. John can not teach and singles people out. Was not a good experience at all.

This place is amazing! Very experienced staff to answer all questions and teach some future tips! It was good to know I'll be prepared for anything! I took BLS, ACLS, and PALS. The manikin with real life CPR time was also cool! It's also really great they teach for appropriate level and let you use your full scope! Thank you! read more

The quality of knowledge and examples of real world experiences is quite literally second to none. They do what they say teach you what you need to know in a potential life saving situation. As someone who has experienced dire situations the examples were on point. They are courteous, respectful and funny. I got my recertification two years ago and chose to go back there because of how they teach you . I will go back for all of my recertification, until I am no longer a health care professional. Thank you to them for doing such an amazing job read more

I took both a BLS and an ACLS class here back in 2017. I will say the BLS class was excellent. The instructor was quite knowledgeable and actually worked well with students to make sure we were understanding the material. ACLS was a completely different story. John is the only instructor for both ACLS and PALS, and I was incredibly disappointed with his class. He was condescending and made jokes that were completely inappropriate for a professional learning environment. He was reluctant to receive input from his students and on more than one occasional told me I was wrong about Albuquerque Ambulance's protocols despite the fact I had been studying with an AAS paramedic, eventually pulling me out into a hallway to demand that I stop "teaching his class with wrong information". After submitting the anonymous evaluations at the end of class, he followed me back to my car and asked me why I gave him a poor review. It is unfortunate there are no other AHA certified ACLS or PALS courses in NM, and I will be taking PALS out of state because my experience here was so negative. read more

John does it again! Two years after my first ACLS renewal with John at American CPR Training Center, I expected to have a similar experience with my most recent renewal. But John has a wonderful gift for keeping the 8-hour course interesting and informative. He is quick to share practical knowledge, experiences, and one-of-a-kind acronyms for all aspects of ACLS care. I'm feeling more prepared than ever and would highly recommend this course to any and all ACLS certification-seeking individuals. read more

As one of the legions of Massage Therapists in New Mexico scrambling to fulfill the new CPR requirement, I was relieved to find this excellent class. Lincoln was a thorough and friendly teacher, making the material easy to grasp and the practice sessions fun. I feel more capable in the areas of CPR, AED, and First Aid; I recommend this course as a good value in every way. read more

I've been taking BLS for Healthcare Providers every two years for more than 20 years. American CPR Training Center has been possibly the best course I've had during all these years. They incorporate real-life experiences to enhance learning. The classroom environment is excellent and contributes to the learning process. The teaching style of the instructor I had (Lincoln) was very friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. I would recommend this company. read more

The quality of being a great teacher is hard to define, but when a student leaves a class marveling at how much knowledge they have gained, how fun and engaging the instruction was, and the fact that a four hour class flew by in the blink of an eye, then that student knows they have been fortunate indeed. Fortunate to have been under the tutelage of a remarkable teacher. Such is the case with Jeff at American CPR. He employs the Socratic method to great effect and keeps the entire class involved throughout. He is a wealth of real life applications for the class material and augmented the AHA DVD with more valuable information than I would have thought possible, without all the corporate doublespeak they managed to shove into their mandatory presentation...I feel sorry for those who simply watch the video in their classes and miss out on Jeff's anecdotes and pop quizzes. Cheers Jeff, thank you for a great evening. read more

The instructor was very rude and condescending. He did not seem interested in teaching one on one and was mostly very proud of his own accomplishments as an EMT. read more

Like anyone in the health care field, I've attended numerous CPR/AED/First Aid classes and this was undoubtedly the most enjoyable one I've been to. So even though the material is repetitious, the instructors work at making this class interesting by using relevant examples and a good sense of humor. I will definitely get my CEU's/training again from these guys. read more
