I came here for dinner, didnt actually stay here but this visit made me put this hotel at the top of my list for a staycation. Beautiful decor, pleasant service.

We had hotel points to use and decided to book a staycation here. The TLDR version: Pros: - Spacious hotel room - Comfortable bed - Complimentary filtered water and espresso - Beautiful views - Beautiful patio - Delicious burgers and steaks for dinner Cons: - Valet parking: $60/day - Difficult to find hotel entrance on Allen Parkway - Overcooked short rib hash and omelets for breakfast Overall, we enjoyed our stay. If this hotel was bookable again with hotel points, it's a good option.

We had a great stay at Thompson Houston. We were updated to a city view suite, and the night view was amazing. The room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Valet parking is $60 per night.

We had a great time at The Thompson Houston. The hotel is a beautiful, well located space in Houston. It is in a slightly quieter part of the city but with extremely convenient drive times to other major parts of the city. The proximity to the Bayou is also nice if you want to walk around the park. The interior is beautifully decorated and there is a great rooftop pool/patio bar. Our room was spacious and well laid out with great amenities. Although our stay was short, we found our stay at The Thompson to be one of the highlights of our trip and we would certainly come back. My only con was that valet was a bit pricy at $50+ per night and I didn't always feel that it was the quickest or best customer service. Other than this, we were very pleased with our stay.

Top tier luxury hotel!! Parking is very simple, they have a massive lot that splits off into two separate lots but both are in the same area as the hotel so it takes you seconds to walk from your car to the hotel. If you can't walk very far or just don't want to, they have valet parking as well. I wish I could have remembered to take a pic of the pricing because mine was comped due to me being there for an event. As you walk up to the doors, they are opened for you by hotel staff who kindly greet you and welcome you with open arms! Guest check in is on the 7th floor. The 7th floor is where most of the action is happening!! They have several bar, one inside and one outside via a mobile setup. You can also order a variety of food from the bar/restaurant inside. There are unlimited lounge areas for guests to utilize. They have outdoor and indoor seating! The pool is massive, almost Olympic size with the most epic view of the skyline. While here, they have cabanas, poolside chairs and lounge chairs and couches that you could sit down at. There was always plenty of seating each time we went down for a swim. You can order from their poolside menu, both drinks and food. They have a DJ come in and play tunes from 3-6 each day. They usually have a liquor sponsor what passes out complimentary cocktails and or sparking wine to guests poolside and they also pass out complimentary snacks to beat the heat. Our room was top tier, down to the detail on the TV screen. They have a personalized welcome note on the TV screen. The beds and pillows are the softest you will probably lay on in a while! It feels like you're floating on cloud 9. The walk in shower is fit for queens!! I enjoyed their bath products and the giant lighted makeup mirror. We had the perfect view of the skyline from our room too!!

This is a gorgeous hotel! My husband booked the king suite with city views and it did not disappoint! He also purchased the romance package, which was perfect! The room was comfy and the shower was amazing! We were gifted a bottle of rosé at check in. Both check in and check out was seamless. Everyone--from valet to front desk personnel--was courteous and welcoming. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back!

United had a meltdown and dumped me halfway through a trip home, leaving me in Houston unexpectedly for two days without my bags. The saving grace in all of that was finding this hotel and making the best out of my 48 hours. The Thompson Houston was fabulous! It is breathtaking, from the views, to the common areas, to the rooms. Everything is modern, tasteful, spacious and high end. The design of the hotel is unparalleled! The staff were always welcoming and friendly and made our stay very comfortable. The location is also fantastic. It's across from a huge park with trails (you can borrow e-bikes from the hotel to explore the surroundings) and it was a relatively short walk (15-20 minutes) to downtown. Ubers were also super easy to get around and they have a nice, clean house car that will drop you off anywhere you need to go in the area for free. The service in the restaurant was slow, but otherwise the food is good and the setting is relaxing, bright, and comfortable. I'm so glad I had a chance to stay here and would recommend it to anyone staying in Houston!

Here today! The Thompson Hotel hosted journalists, photographers and press to review the 2026 Hyundai's Genesis GV 70 and 80 good Lord I just love my occupation! That's a fine luxury driving car, they handle very well on the open road. Ok look, the Genesis have speakers underneath the seats, I slammed on the breaks during traffic and she damn near stopped herself, smooooth ride I mean smooth, I took a corner fast and she turned without yanking my neck, I put her in sports mode on the Hardy Toll and I know I was doing 90 mph she felt like 65 mph, quiet ride too, I played Megan the Stallion Weneva song and I imagined myself in her video when she was driving feeling myself. I was turned off by the dashboard, naaaa too much. Oh I'm sorry it's about Thomson Houston. Staff was highly trained at professionalism, because this assignment was in our plan clothes they treated me as if I was a guest at the hotel. Several times I was told guest rooms were on the 7th floor lol, I always played along and told them my person was coming down :) The Hotel smelled AAAMAZING, I wasn't sure if the fragrance was coming from the FENDI store adjacent to the hotel or what. The Thompson Hotel lies in the heart of Houston, Tx Downtown which makes it perfect for tourists and those that love to run, walk or bike. Memorial trail can be seen outside the hotel window especially Thompson 2 restaurants. Many fine restaurants are in walking distance and Houston's exciting night life. If you try to ride share to the hotel, careful it will direct the driver into a lot across the way. Here today. See you there tomorrow!

Loved the property. The staff was superb. We hit a few bumps when it came to service but they were more than accommodating. I did book a king size room with a small couch in the room and that's not what I got, seemed like a small version of it. It does get pretty loud at night with Toca Madera right next door to it...which we love and dined there. Their in room dinning was not the best and Sol restaurant service must be understaffed because the wait on everything was almost unbelievable. The pool was fabulous!! Loved their gym and the fact that they give you access to the gym next door was the best!!

I've been wanting to check out the Thompson since it opened. I'm a hotel snob and love to experience the full shebang whenever I have the opportunity. I booked a room for myself and also invited some girlfriends to join me for the day by the pool. Valet is a little tricky to find, mainly because the map directions have you try to enter in the back which is a wrong way entrance. The actual entrance is on Allen pkwy, right when you see toca Madera turn in there. Then continue straight and the valet is the second driveway on the left. The first driveway is for the residences. Sarah at the valet was kind, friendly and efficient. She got the car whisked off handed me my ticket and helped me with my luggage. Check in is at the 7th floor. You need to go into the lobby area and go to the elevators on the left past the restaurant Chardon. Check in was easy, Yolanda was kind and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised my room was ready at 10:30am. It was nice to be able to put my stuff in the room and have a place to change for the pool. They had the events and specials advertised on the lobby floor which was informative and appreciated. Brandon at the hotel lobby bar was fun and had great service. Erin the revenue manager was friendly and informative about the hotel offerings. The pool is beautiful, it's an infinity pool with great views of the city. They have towels, water, umbrellas and sunscreen available. Staff was friendly. There were only about 10 chais lounge chairs around the pool area that you could use without paying extra for a daybed or cabana. I found that pretty limiting. Luckily we got there early and were able to have four chairs together. They also have some water loungers in the pool as well as a sun deck with 40+ chairs but that looked HOT. They did close the pool twice while we were there because of the storm that rolled in. But that was for our safety and nothing anyone could change. It did cut our day kind of short though. Another thing, they charge you a pool Service charge of 20% and then servers say that don't get any of that. So you are basically paying 40% on top of your bill for and food or drinks. After the second rain closure, we ended up going down to the 5th floor and just relaxed in the lounge area and read our books which was nice. The WIFI is horrible, they need to get a better mesh system or more routers installed. I would say that's was my number one complaint. I could barely use my phone due to the poor service. The rooms are beautiful, beds are comfortable, showers are huge and they have a great light up vanity with day and night lighting. I feel the signage could be better for the water bottles. They are complementary but the way the card is labeled as a guest I was unsure if I would be charged for a refillable water bottle. I called the front desk and they let me know they were included and complementary. They have a beverage station on the floor where you can refill your water bottle. There is also a water bottle filling station by the fitness center in the hallway outside. They also do not have coffee in the room or lobby. You can only purchase it at the restaurant or maven coffee shop or room service. For a luxury hotel I find that off putting and cheap. There is also no real desk to work at. So if you're here for work I might consider a different hotel. I would come back but I don't know if I would stay here again overnight. The hotel is also quite loud at night and in morning the maids get going and you can hear people in the halls. Even with a noise machine, ear plugs and a face mask I could still hear everything. I did enjoy the spa and overall atmosphere.

Luxury experience in a Panorama Suite, including mattress and linens. Due to food contract transition, service a little slow but pleasant and accommodating and personable in Sol7. Couldn't find concierge at 6:30pm on a Saturday. Great atmosphere in public spaces. Excellent front desk welcome. All staff we encountered were professional and personable. Water stations don't work on our floor. Highlight was our dinner at Chardon, which just opened this week. High end French with a touch of Texas. Great service from David. We would come back.

This brand new Thompson just opened one week ago! They were still putting up wall art and filling up the pool when I arrived. I was so excited to stay at a brand new hotel! My initial impression was mixed... I loved the freakishly large shower that could fit 6 people, the DS&Durga bath amenities, incredible views and signature quirky Thompson interior design throughout. But their non suite rooms are on the smaller end for US standards. Giant bathrooms but tight living space - I wish there was a small desk/chair in the room but I guess Thompson lifestyle guests don't work in their rooms? Beware their marketing materials on Instagram, FB, etc - those are pictures of their roomier suites. The non suite rooms are smaller and less bright. I was definitely disappointed at check in but was fine after resetting expectations. The rooms are still very nice and luxuriously decorated. The hotel has a pair of complementary BMW house cars that will take you anywhere in a 3 mile radius (no pick up and it's first come first serve) and it's only a 5min ride to downtown Houston. They have valet parking. The pool and spa were not yet open when I visited but the gym was open - it was nicely set up. The team is still working out their quirks. I messaged the team in advance via messenger as directed by their app and never received a response. At check in, I was told their system was booking rooms that aren't actually available. Front desk staff weren't fully knowledgeable about Hyatt elite member perks but free breakfast for Globalists were honored though upgrades were not proactively applied so you'll have to ask. Hotel is pet friendly

While I understand mistakes happen, what was completely unacceptable was the way the situation was handled afterward. When I called the front desk for help, I was met with rudeness, attitude, and skepticism, as though I was making the situation up. The front desk manager was dismissive and unhelpful, despite the fact that I even offered to personally look through the dirty linens to find my clothing. Two days later, the hotel finally called to say they had found my shirt, only to then ask me to pay for the shipping label to have it returned. No apology. No accountability. No acknowledgment that I was left scrambling and forced to borrow clothes from others in order to attend my event because of their mistake. To make matters worse, the concierge kindly assured me that his manager, Daisy Lopez, would be reaching out to address the situation. Despite following up twice, I never heard another word from the hotel. The issue was never the mistake itself, accidents happen. The issue was the complete lack of professionalism, empathy, accountability, and customer care afterward. For a hotel that prides itself on luxury and reputation, this experience was an absolute disappointment.

Not once did we feel uneasy (and we live in the Houston area - did a staycation for my husband's birthday). A few years ago, it would be a different story. There are a few homeless in the general area, but they aren't disruptive. We stayed in room 705, complete with a city view. It was quiet and lovely. I wish the rooms had a full-size fridge and cooking area, but for downtown, the suites are just as big as a studio apartment. There's space-themed decor throughout the hotel. I found the valet pricing to be a bit steep, and unfortunately, I have reason to believe two pairs of sunglasses were stolen from my vehicle. (I realize they should have been put in my purse immediately after use, but it slipped my mind, and out of habit, I put them in the console.) Regardless, it's frustrating. It also took 10-15 minutes for valet to pull our car around, so that's something to keep in mind. The evening reception was nice, especially with the two drinks/person/night. We had chips and queso, though they had a few other offerings. Make sure you get the card at the front desk. The front desk staff will also try to sell you on destinations for a cheap rate. I'm not sure when this became a thing, but instead of telling us about the evening reception and breakfast, they tried selling us on a stay in Chicago. I really just wanted to go to our room since I did everything on the app. We also found the breakfast to be worth every penny to stay in this hotel. I can't have gluten, and there isn't any GF bread. I had eggs, potatoes, grits, and coffee. There were cereal, fruit, yogurt, and waffle-making options as well. I appreciated the coffee bar having various syrups. The hotel was extremely accessible for those with disabilities/handicaps. We saw several people in wheelchairs or with assistance. Hearsay on the Green is inside the hotel, and the food is priced well for what you get (and it's excellent). If you DoorDash, the Dasher has to leave your food/items at the front desk. They are not permitted to go up to guest rooms. The rooftop pool and hot tub offer views of the city and Toyota Center (excellent people watching). Overall, I'd stay again (but I'd ensure I brought my cheap sunglasses and not my Maui Jims).

And while the whole experience will hit your wallet, it is worth it. Let's face it, you're staying here because of either the convenience of the lovely restaurants connected to the hotel or because of the rooftop pool with the Texas-shaped lazy river. Fortunately, both of these factors live up to it's promise and glamour. The restaurant options are aplenty; all that connect to the hotel lobby. Prestigious options such as Xochi, Biggio's, and Walker Street Kitchen are all here. Xochi is the only one we visited during out time there and it's well worth the experience (see my review on that). The rooftop pool has several seating/lounge sections along with a full bar/restaurant at the front area. Additionally, there is a hot tub and a pool on the left side where you get a nice view of the Houston skyline and the Texas-shaped lazy river floats around all of these attractions. It's the main reason why you're coming to this hotel in the first place! Other amenities I liked is the very large fancy exercise room and the club area where they serve complimentary breakfast for platinum and titanium members. The breakfast has some delicious items including fresh pastries, charcuterie selections, and the scrambled cheese eggs. And there's a cappuccino machine included if you want something more fancy than coffee. All these things I've listed and I haven't gotten to our room! Well we had a clean king sized bedroom that directly overlooked the rooftop pool giving us a nice view of what we would be engaging in during the afternoon. We had to find the A/C and turn the temperature down a few degrees. The hotel is located near the arts district where we were planning to spend our Saturday. The earliest we could checkin was 3pm, so we spent our day visiting the city and just left our luggage in the car. Checkin was super easy since we already had a reservation. Parking was included. The spots in the front were mostly taken, but you could drive around to the back of the building and easily find a space. The hotel has an elevator, but it is very slow. We used the stairs quite a bit, but found the elevator useful for carrying our bags upstairs. The view was limited and not very appealing, but the building only has about three floors. Cold items like juice, yogurt, cereal are also an option. Two staff members were there making sure food was readily available and that things were kept clean. There were a few items that bothered me about this particular hotel. One, there was no TV reception in my room. I couldn't believe there weren't any channels, not even local channels! I was also annoyed that the bathroom sink was not draining properly. My husband had to play with it to get it to drain at all, and even then, it took a very long time for the water in the sink to empty after washing my hands or brushing my teeth. Lastly, the light switch at the entrance of the room only controlled the lighting in the entryway. I had to go around and turn on individual lights to feel like it wasn't so dark. These were minor inconveniences, but for the price, I would have expected these not to be an issue at all. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and went out of their way to help me. On the day of our departure, my husband wasn't feeling well. They provided me with some bottled water as well as a Sprite to help his stomach. I was so touched by this offer. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We both got a good night's sleep.

I would say the decor is very old fashion lounge with there being a mix of table with chairs or chairs paired with a couch. Our server seemed very nice but a bit new as she could not tell me if one of the teas was decaf right away. Also, I made a note that I could not have tuna but they took this as I could not have fish so they gave me two chicken salad sandwiches instead of the salmon even though I had stated on the phone salmon was fine. She also could not describe one of the desserts but overall she was very pleasant. The amuse bouche was - interesting ( a strawberry with cream cheese) I didn't hate or love it. I didn't think the cream cheese added anything tbh. We had one dessert on the table waiting for us before we said down - a English parfait that had a white chocolate mouse, cake, and fruit. I loved it although it was a bit strange to have dessert already sitting at your table before you got your sandwiches but I am a dessert first girl so didn't matter to me other than it was constantly calling my name. You don't get to choose your tea and the two tea options are both black which is a lot of caffeine. The sandwiches themselves come across as unassuming but they are great and very filling. Each one has a different bread which was cool. Although not a fan of cucumber, the bread was milky and so soft. All the sandwiches were fantastic. Honestly, I was so full from the tea and sandwiches, I took the desserts home. One big misstep in service was the server forgetting to serve the second tea. I had to ask for it and by the time we got it, we were tea'ed out. You are gifted a box of macarons at the end - we almost left ours but our server ran and got us in time. I definitely had a great time, there were small incidents that stopped it from being 5 stars. Paying 79 dollars for tea is a bit pricy so I would expect a bit more precision and maybe more choice in tea?

Afternoon tea is always a delight! A variety of teas are served with various sandwiches. That is…read morefollowed by a scone with clotted cream and jam. The grand finale is a plate of three pastries - a fruit tart, a fruit custard pie (mango?) and a large decadent chocolate ball with gold leaf. Harp music adds to the ambience and the service is top notch. Treat yourself!
