Ya, I wouldn't say I'm a screaming, tailgating, tried and true fan, but overall I think I'm a fan…read moreof Stock. In a former life I visited here frequently for some of the odds and ends a fella might need as he's remodeling a house or building a deck. As a hardware store, there's muuuuch to be desired. I don't think I'd come here to shop around for anything. The few shelves of tools, hardware, and other fit-in-your-cart supplies they have on hand are more for convenience when you're there picking up or ordering more hefty stuff. So, it's nice that they carry a small selection of bolts and screws and tape measures and shelf brackets (and so on), but don't plan on this as a swing by and browse kind of adventure. The real bread and butter here is obviously the building supplies. And you should probably have a little swagger in your step when you come through the door and know what you're after. The guys here have always been nice enough to help me stumble through what I was after as I employed my best construction laborer vocabulary, but I can bet it would get tired if I was constantly describing what kind of 2 x 12 I needed by the smell of the wood. "You know, kind of like Christmas trees but less sappy smelling." Kudos to them and their patience. Stock was a serous victim of the housing crunch. This place used to be bumpin' but it's a ghost town nowadays. Their staff was cut down by at least half (I want to say closer to 75% or more) so be patient as they try to get a guy out to the yard to find your stack of 12-footers. The public is always welcome here. They do have "showroom" of some of their door products, casing and trim, and other things they can walk you through, but it's really an insider's world there. Prices can vary wildly. Sometimes the big box stores have better 2x4 prices, but sometimes Stock could crush their prices on more uncommon cuts and materials. It's always worth a phone call, especially if you're buying materials in any kind of bulk. When used right, this can be a great place for good deals, and the salesman will bust their butts to track down what you need and make it convenient for you to pick it up or have it delivered to your jobsite. Never hurts to call them for a quote or to stop by, but just don't expect an orange-aproned experience.

I used to work with them and I know first hand it's overpriced materials and there is no guarantee…read morewhen it breaks from being cheap: the wood is usually warped when sold and the management doesn't care.

Please continue to move down your list of prospective constructors as you'd likely just waste your time and energy as I did. I'm calling to pay you!! Very bad business.

Everything started out great with these guys. They WERE extremely nice...UNTIL they made a mistake…read moreand installed 2 slabs with a seam that are 2 different colors of stone and the flecks are different as well. Then, from that point, the owner Darrin has been very hard to communicate with. He won't respond to texts or calls or messages unless we ask for a refund. Then, when he does respond he is very rude. We've been waiting for almost 3 weeks for Cobble Creek to come and correct the mistake...so living in chaos and trying not to unpack too much since we know that our "mistake" counter tops will be removed at some point to install the correct counter tops. There has been no offer of compensation at all. It simply was a mistake and we, as the customer, are suppose to accept it and live with it. Prior to having our counters installed, our contractor removed our existing cabinets and counters too soon...so, at this point we have been living without a kitchen for almost 6 weeks! It is completely ridiculous and extremely frustrating that we cannot get Cobble Creek to commit to an installation date for our new counters. Darrin's unprofessional and rude response... nothing has changed since our last conversation [2 1/2 weeks ago]...I told you it would take a few days to get it built. He refuses to give us an exact installation day / time. He expects homeowners to be home or drop everything they have scheduled to be here whenever they are ready to show up and install. These guys were nice UNTIL they screwed up and then they become unresponsive. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone or use them again.
