However, at some point-- I had to change dentists (maybe my original one left the practice?) and was informed that I URGENTLY needed a crown. Something in my gut told me to get a second opinion-- and surprise, surprise -- my tooth is perfectly fine. A little discoloration, but no crown needed. Apparently, my only real problem was walking into a practice more interested $ than caring for its patients. This place gave major "scammy car mechanic" vibes -- which left me with a BAD taste in my mouth-- pun intended.

We were brand new to Towson in mid June and my wife's TMJ started acting up, bad. I called around to some local TMJ specialists and she was scheduled for appointments in August or November. That didn't help her now. Despite not having a TMJ specialist on staff, Valley Dental Health agreed to see her the same day I called. They took her in and gave her an exam. They wrote her a script to help deal with the pain and offered some people that she could follow up with for additional assistance. One of those people was able to see her within a day or two. While Valley Dental Health couldn't assist my wife with her specific issue, I appreciate how they brought her in and examined her in a timely manner, provided a temporary solution and offered some referrals that got her on the road to recovery.

I have gone to a dentist every 6 months since I was a child and brush and floss regularly. I have HMO dental insurance through work which covers my cleanings (2 a year), as well as my periodic x-rays. Not many dentists in the area take our insurance, so I was thrilled to find Touch of Smiles. I have never been told I have a cavity or had anything "pushed" on me. My husband has had more extensive dental work done there no problems. Insurance covered some of it. I recently had whitening trays made, which insurance didn't cover...obviously, but I felt I paid the average cost for them. The office staff is always nice and accommodating. I would recommend Touch of Smiles and Dr. Ra to anyone looking for a dentist.

Dr. Ford office is a hidden gem. I am NOT the biggest fan of dentists and I haven't been to one in…read moreover 10 years but it was time. I called my insurance to give me a list of doctors and every office I called seemed irritated that I called, very little patience. I found Dr. Ford on Yelp and took the previous review as a good enough reason to give him a try. I am so glad I did. I called to set up an appointment and the woman I spoke to was incredibly kind and patient. Scheduled me to be seen in a short time and even made my follow-up appointment at the same time. I felt at ease! The day of the appointment there was no waiting, it was a friendly and clean atmosphere and everyone was nice! It's hard to find that in healthcare professionals. Dr. Ford is knowledgeable, caring, patient (and I needed that) and honest. He let me know all the options available to me and let me decided. So many doctors try to push things on you that you don't even need! He walked me through everything that was happening and that is so important. He didn't rush through anything, he seemed to genuinely enjoy his craft. His staff is just as great as he is and I don't think I'll need another dentist in a long time!
