When calling Dr Romeo's office for a F/u appt recently I was informed Dr Grassa had moved to Sayville so I called and made an appt. I saw him recently at Sayville Family Dentistry. My initial interaction with the friendly receptionist was positive. I then saw the hygienist who informed me I may need to return for two deep cleanings, although she had not taken X-rays yet nor had she done my cleaning yet. I was then seen by Dr Grassa who briefly examined me then told me I had a cavity in my wisdom tooth and the tooth required removal. Never showed me the tooth in question by using a mirror, never showed me anything on X-rays and never explained why he came to his conclusion. (I had X-rays done 8 months ago and have never had tooth discomfort). He told to see a dental surgeon. No referrals given for a dental surgeon, no documentation given as to why he reached his conclusion but just a very dismissive /disinterested attitude about my dental care as he just walked out of the room. I do not recommend this dentist and I already have an appt. with a new dentist. I should have seen Dr Romeo instead of wasting my time.

He is very Experienced (23 years in practice), Professional and personable. After repeating X-rays and examining my teeth, he determined that there was no need for "a cap" as suggested by Dr Grassa and no need for 2 deep cleanings as suggested by Arkna his hygienist. He did however have to reclean my teeth despite my having done a cleaning a week ago at Dr Grassa. When something doesn't seem right ALWAYS go for a second opinion!!

Every Dental Hygienist has wonderful bedside manor. Both Dr. Moe and Dr. P have been absolutely wonderful doctors. They always thoroughly explain each procedure and ease my anxiety when I'm sitting in the chair. Both are also extremely gentle. What sets them apart from other offices around-They are up on all of the new technology and offer procedures that aren't done in all offices. The office is extremely clean and very modern. I was so happy to see that all precautions were made and they were following all the guide lines. Before I came down I called ahead to see what the protocol was . They said to call and let them know when you arrive , they also instructed me to keep the air on while I waited in the car since they would taking my temperature. Of course wear a mask ! So on arrival I did just that . I didn't have to wait long maybe 10 mins , They came to get me and I only brought in my car keys and charge card . They took my temperature even before I walked in the door and held the door open for me , I was told to Purell my hands , and handed over my charge card which they immediately cleaned ! Than I was escorted to the room where my dental hygienist Sally was waiting for me ! Sally is so kind , professional and extremely gentle ! There was plexiglass at the reception area and everyone was wearing gowns / gloves / masks and also had their hair covered !The works !!!! Also Sally while working on me wore a face shield along with her mask , gown , gloves and head covering. When I was done I was escorted out . I can't express how comfortable I felt !
