Five stars for their massage program! Super secret insider tip: I used to get FREE, tipping is…read morenot allowed, massages TWICE a week for TWO or THREE years!!!!! Sometimes if you were really blessed the appointment after you would cancel and you could get massages back to back. It was truly amazing and it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it!!!!!!!!! However, about a year ago, they discontinued this service. I was not even a student, just a random Joe schmo....an eternally grateful one that is. I'm just sayin' you might want to call the clinic and inquire. It's better than good....I would seriously drive from Milford, in a Blizzard to get there, that's how good! 20 stars, if that were possible. I rate the massage program a freaking Hailey's comet! They also were offering free yoga, but often times the instructor failed to show. This was not affiliated with the massage program. Also, people with no health insurance. PLEASE visit their dental program for teeth cleaning as low as 10 bucks. They also offer other services such as xrays and repairs. Just beware it takes forever...but for that price. As a social worker, I have referred hundreds! 5 star for the in need population. My opinion on the education is 1 star. Students teaching students, and not graduate students? Open book exams? Teacher gives you the questions/answers prior to tests? I guess it's like pay for your diploma just go through minimal actions. AND it is expensive. AND many of their credits do not transfer.

Just paid $2000 for a class. The teacher cut the class early every week by hours, assigned no…read morereadings, provided no examples for assignments, provided no online notes or references, and during the class instead of talking about English would always talk about how upset she was with the election, and would tie every argumentative assignment paper to anti government in one way or the other. I immediately reported to the colleges English Director who said they would look into the issue, the teacher returned the following week saying she had a rough week and no lesson planned. This school is an expensive joke. OCC would be a better recommendation.

All OCC students pay a student support fee of $100 per semester. It's NON-REFUNDABLE after classes…read morebegin. This fee is absolutely ridiculous! I attended one class, decided it wasn't for me, and lost 25% of what I had originally paid.

Most corrupt learning institution that I have attended. Don't turn away from this place. RUN!!!…read moreAttended the ADN program; Nursing in 2007. Did not know if I would use my degree after graduating. The nursing faculty found out and organized a plan to ensure my failure and/or make it too difficult for me to continue. I don't get it. My aunt has been attending college for 50 years. She has 3 BS degree, a masters and a doctorate degree. Nobody ever said to her she does not deserve to be enrolled. OCC nursing faculty was in my face about taking a nursing slot was going to waste In the end, I was verbally and sexually abused and assaulted. I am male. I was ready to retire from federal service and wanted a career change. I was a paramedic for years. It was fresh in my brain. The nursing courses contained all of the knowledge and skills that a paramedic uses, so it was quite easy. The faculty abuse was really difficult. I filed a police report concerning the assault. The detective stated that it would be a he said/she said kind of case and that I should just forget about it. She had an unblemished record and was an upstanding and reputable individual in the community. She is nothing of the kind. She is one of the most diabolical people that I know. Again, don't just turn and walk away from Oakland Community College. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, BECAUSE MY LIFE WAS THREATENED!!!

After attending CMU for my undergraduate degree, I opted to remain loyal and earn my Masters…read morethrough Central as well. My particular cohort is based out of the Troy center. And while it's not quite the same as the bar hopping, house partying, beer bonging, roomate arguing, cold pizza for breakfast days as my undergrad - I really have no complaints about the Troy center! Located on Maple between John R & Stephenson Highway, it's pretty easy to get to - just a couple miles off of I-75. Clear sign from the road, and one main entrance to get inside. It houses only a small collection of classrooms, but even if you ignored your professor emails before the first day of class, there is an electronic screen scrolling the various courses and which room they are located in. There is a large kitchen with a number of tables and chairs, a few vending machines that are always well stocked, and a refrigerator and microwave for community use. In the lobby of the building is also the "Maple Street Deli", which is a small store run by the tiniest, most delightful Asian woman. She will make a small selection of sandwiches and salads fresh for you, and also sell you any number of chips, candy, beverages, and granola bars. She'll always greet you with a smile and remind you to wash that apple you just bought before you eat it. She keeps the Maple Street Deli open even on weekends, so us folks in a Saturday class aer still able to get a quick lunch without leaving the premesis. The bathrooms are large and impeccably clean at all times. I don't know how often the cleaning staff is in there (or maybe we are just a neat and tidy group that doesn't dirty it?) but there is never so much as a paper towel on the floor or splash of water on the sink. Classrooms are set up with large tables and plush rolling desk chairs. They're not stingy with the AC, to the point that I usually make sure to bring an extra hoody or sweater to keep from being chilled. Another great asset to this center is the student work room, stocked with a handful of computers and the crown jewel - a beautiful, new copier/printer that is always fully stacked with paper, can collate AND staple as it copies...never jams or runs out of toner it seems. You may be thinking, "so? big deal - seems like something that would be standard." But ooooh no. I have spent much time in educational facilities and this is not always the case. Facilities aside, any emails I send to the folks in the student services offices here are responded to promptly - like, within the half hour. So thanks CMU Troy for making graduate degrees as convienent and pleasant as possible. (Until I think about the thousands of dollars in tuition floating out of my pocket each semester.)
