I just wanted to sincerely thank Dr. Elardo and his team for the excellent care I received at both Bay Area Foot Care (Los Gatos) and Silicon Valley Surgery Center. From my very first appointment through surgery and follow-up visits, Dr. Elardo made me feel completely at ease. He took the time to answer all of my questions and provided clear information about the procedure and post-surgery recovery, which really helped me feel confident in my decision to move forward. Surgery: The procedure itself was quick and smooth. The staff was kind, professional, and very supportive throughout the entire process. Post-surgery: Even with a pin and screw placed, the pain was very manageable. I chose not to take the prescribed pain medication and only used Tylenol occasionally at night, just in case I bumped my foot while sleeping. The leg elevation pillow was incredibly helpful and made a big difference in my comfort. Pin & Screw Removal: This part sounded intimidating at first, and I was definitely nervous, but Dr. Elardo handled everything with such skill and care. I didn't feel any pain during either removal. I don't know where to start.... Okay my foot is in terrible shape. I had a fasciotomy done. I was told " everyone gets better". Well, not everyone. Shortly after I mentioned my pain and discomfort. I was told no restrictions. My foot got worse. I'm now in a boot. It's been 2 years 8 months. I was told that there's a machine that reduces scar tissue. I was told it was around 60 dollars. After driving from Sacramento for the appointment I was told 600. He wanted to cut up my other foot I said no. Just be careful. I almost did it. Dr Elardo is very personable. Dr. Elardo is great, I had hammer toe surgery a few years ago, the results were great. My recovery was fine. Like any surgical procedures recovery can be hard to predict. Unprofessional office. You may wait for your appointment - sometimes for an hour or more (despite confirmation beforehand that doctor is on time); your appointments may be rescheduled multiple times if the office can squeeze in a surgery, you may be shuffled from person to person over the phone, and promised calls back are not returned. This office differs significantly from other offices in terms of patient procedures - always to protect themselves and ensure they get paid handsomely beforehand despite more than adequate insurance coverage. Poor patient experience, except for Dr. Elardo himself. read more

Has been super helpful with a feet podiatry issues. I ended up having to get shots between my toes on one visit and in the bottom of each foot on another.. Now, hear me out. I am NOT a fan of needles at all! Dr. Elardo uses a freezing spray first and had the great sense to position the rolling tray in a way that I could not see the needle or my foot. This made a big difference.. The fist shot between my toes was a non event, I did not feel it at all. The shots in the bottom of my foot just felt very uncomfortable, but not painful. This guy has a great bedside manner. I would highly recommend! read more

I had hammer toe surgery by Dr Elardo on May 12th. All aspects of my treatment have been absolutely first class! Pain was less than I expected and things are healing well. The pin in my toe was removed yesterday after 3 weeks and two days, with no pain to speak of during that process. As far as pain medication is concerned I never even used any of the heavy duty stuff/opioids, and only used Aleve regularly for the first 3 days after surgery. Since then I have only needed it a few times. The office visits have been well managed and convenient Even the Xray machine is easy to use while standing! I am completely satisfied by Dr Elardo's treatment so far! Plus, he is a great guy and very personable. I absolutely recommend him to anyone needing foot surgery. read more

I will start by saying that Dr. Elardo is very personable and seems like a nice guy. I came to him after 14 years of debilitating plantar fasciitis to discuss surgery. He told me he could do the plantar fascia release and I would be able to walk within a week or two. I asked him specifically if I should ask my mother in law to come help me out with my two kids and he said that would not be necessary. I asked when he thought I could walk my daughter the few blocks to her school again and he said the following week. Well it all sounded too good to be true and it absolutely was. My surgery was in October, it is March and I still cannot walk my daughter to school. Imagine my surprise on the second day after surgery when I could not walk at all. I had to scramble to find someone to lend me crutches and to pick up my kids from school and feed them as I was completely out of commission. Recovery has been incredibly difficult. Every day for the past 6 months I ice (A LOT), stretch, rest, roll out my calves etc. I also tape my feet every day and have lost 10 pounds in the hopes that would help. My surgery foot is still nowhere near as strong as my non-surgery foot (both feet were in the same condition pre-surgery.) At this point all I can hope for is to one day get back to where I started but I am honestly not sure I ever will. I am still using a kneel scooter whenever I have to do something outside the house. I have so much anger and sadness every time I think of it I was not sure if I should write this review but if I can save someone else from this experience than I feel compelled to do so. When I came in for my follow up the only advice I was given was to keep wearing the surgery shoe. On the plus side Dr. Elardo did make me some orthotics which I've been able to tolerate. Also my non-surgery foot has improved thanks to all the rest I've been forced to do. read more

I am a chiropractor, and I have had a very large bunion for many years. I finally decided to have a bunionectomy, not because it hurt (it rarely did), but because I was concerned that if I waited much longer it would start to deform my foot in a way that would necessitate more complex radical surgeries. I went to 3 different podiatrists and 3 very different recommendations on surgery types. I chose Dr. Elardo, not only because he understood my lifestyle and recommended the sanest and least radical surgery, but he also accurately diagnosed and successfully cured what NO dermatologist or podiastrist had ever done. He told me that I had a skin fungus on my foot and wanted that cleared before he did surgery. Everyone else had told me it was dry skin! We are talking years and years of cracking peeling skin on my foot. Ick! Now my skin is like a baby's bottom (skin wise!) and the surgery went off without a hitch. I had very little pain. Swelling takes awhile to resolve. Was able to hike the hills in 5 weeks time. Barely noticeable scar and the bunion is gone!. Today I had Dr. Elardo drain a huge synovial cyst. He is so skillful. This guy rocks! Well he could rock more if he would just relax. No just kidding. I have seen this guy a few times. The first time was back in 99-00 for the weird growth on my toe. He had it diagnosed in a few minutes, setup a time to operate in the office and I haven't had a problem since. I have recommended him to several others that have had great results with him. Of late I started to have pain in the bottom of my foot. Some days not as much as others so I decided to go see him. Within just a few minutes he had it nailed to PLANTAR FASCIITIS. Talk about a painful thing to have. Well I get to have some cool custom orthodics now for the rest of my life. Very unprofessional! I was not told they did not take medical. When I was making my appointment the person I spoke to asked what insurance I had and I told them I had medical. I get there and they tell me they don't! If I new this ahead of time I would of not wasted my time and would of been seen already!i Waited. 1 week for the appointment after breaking my toe. 1) After two years, the Doctor Elardo said he will again re-do x-ray. When I asked why he said "the old x-ray machine was not good". In new x-ray we found a crack, that was not visible in old x-ray. Very sweet. 2) The receptionist told she got $210 paid by insurance company. I got confused, "excuse me..". She told again, "two years back you paid $250 deposit for casting and shoe insert, for which insurance paid us, so your money is sitting here for two years". Very sweet. 3) The doctor is not interested in analyzing or correcting gait or stance. He means "business". Very sweet. read more

Dr. Elardo is located on Los Gatos Road, not too far from Good Samaritan offices. He is a podiatrist, and I only wish his practice would spill into other areas. He is knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and direct. He tells you what he thinks the problem is, what can be done, and the possible outcomes. He clearly does not make promises he doesn't think he can deliver. Best of all, he takes an interest in you, the patient, treats you with respect and does not dismiss your concerns. Wait time for an appointment is usually 45 minutes. Paid $250 for orthopedics and was told I'd get my money back when my insurance paid them. They had my money sitting in their office for months, and I only received my money back when I called them about it. Xray machine is archaic, and directions for the next steps and care were absent. Surgery was not successful to say the least. read more

Really bummed that Dr Elardo and the other Dr's in this clinic do not take Tri-Care as a primary insurance. That means that all the military people who use Tri-care can not be seen by his office. read more

Dr is not willing to spend time with us. Once I told him the location of pain, he told it is Bunion I am suffering from. cool. The X-Ray machines are old and no where close to high quality xrays that dentists take and sub standard to other hospitals too (though I am not an authority to be certain on this point). When I asked copy of x-rays, they could not find few x-rays and gave paper prints instead of original xray. That takes away 1/2 star. The reason he loses one more star is, I have to ask him if I over pronate and If I have fungal infection in toe nail. He just told I have flat feet and bunion, but did not sincerely examine for other issues. read more

I was very nervous to have my bunions operated on, but Dr. Elardo put me at ease and I am SO glad I went through with it. He is professional, friendly, reassuring and honest. My feet had been causing me a lot of pain and I was nervous they would end up worse after surgery, or that recuperating from the surgery would be painful, but NO. My feet are now both pain free and I'm able to exercise and wear (low) heels with no problems. I'm only sorry I didn't go through with this sooner. He did a great job. I have recommended Dr. Elardo to at least 3 other people who have foot problems. Now that both feet are done, I will miss going to see him and his very friendly staff. Highly recommended. read more
