The description was accurate, the price okay and I scheduled for 22 Oct @ 9AM. On Friday the 16th I had an unintelligible phone message, the only word I could understand was "grout". On Monday morning I called their office to see what the message was about. After being put on hole for 4-5 minutes the girl responded she didn't have any information and I offered "maybe it was to see if I had the tiles, which I do". She said "great, we'll see you on Thursday the 22nd". I cleaned everything off the new countertop and eagerly waited for their tile installer to arrive. Nine o'clock went by, 9:30, 10:00, and at 10:30 I called to see what was happening. The girl (same one) again put me on hold and when she returned said "You are scheduled for Friday, the 23rd and Saturday. My immediate response was "NO! It's today and tomorrow and I'm looking at the confirmation". Her response was "well we sent a text message this morning." I immediately responded "No you didn't! I'm looking at my emails right now and you sent no message to me!" Then she put me on hold again. This time it was "we can only get you on Friday and Saturday", which is when I blew my top. "I have other plans on Saturday, I'm not going to be home then. You confirmed the dates on Monday, the same as the quote and I don't have any choice but to cancel. I needed this done today!" Her response? "If you want to cancel please let us know this afternoon". And that was that. She just told me two lies and now my blood is boiling. I called another tile installer (5 stars) and they came out immediately, gave the same quote within a few dollars, but couldn't get to me until the following week. After thinking for a while I called my Saturday meeting and canceled. I called Grout Medic back and said I'd go ahead "but your man better be here on time!" Today is Friday the 23rd. Nine o'clock went by, 9:20, 9:30, 9:45. At that very minute their installer pulled up in front but sat in the cab talking on the phone. And sat there. Finally, at 9:50 I called Grout and said "Cancel the appointment." She asked if the installer was there. "He pulled up at exactly 9:45 but he's outside sitting in his truck. I'm fed up with you people and I don't want to work with you. Just cancel". She didn't hesitate "Okay, you're cancelled". What really xxxxx's me off is that I'm in the process of remodeling my home and I have another four tile jobs to get done in the next three months. My experience with Grout Medic (do they do tile work or only grout?) has been a miserable failure. The company is unreliable, unprofessional and worse, they'll lie to your face just to cover their mistakes. I wouldn't recommend this company for ANY work!

First I have to speak to the speed at which everything got started. We used Home Advisor to find Tom on a Sunday evening and they came out for an estimate Monday morning and began work that evening! The work completed look great and we have no complaints at all. New tile, drywall and painting. Vanity, toilet and lighting installation as well. I requested to add little things here and there and he was very accommodating. The process at which he uses to show you the estimated costs, update those as the job goes on and request payment was great! His workers were courteous, well mannered, and respectful of the house coming and going during the day. We did all of this with a 9month old baby in the house as well and it was a great experience! I called Tom and he came out the following day and gave me a bid on a job to remodel my master…read morebathroom. As a way to cut down costs, I purchased all of the tile ahead of time and all the appropriate backer board, and I demolished the wood step by the tub and removed all the carpet, nails, staples, linoleum flooring and glue. Tom let me know what he would charge and he stuck firmly with that bid, from start to finish. He was very professional, easy to work with and communicated when he would be on site to work. I would highly recommend Tom to install any tile job you need. He works well and helped me install my toilet back into place and install all new trim after the tile was completed. Did I mention he put in a heated floor for me as well.....yeah.....he's definitely someone that I would hire in the future!!!! Thank you TOM!!!
