She lived her last 6 years here in Midland and the Pensacola Funeral Home arranged everything with the Dignity Funeral Home here in Midland. But the entire thing was a struggle. It took 6 hours for them and several phone calls to come retrieve her body. Then the day of our appt with them to go over the details, they could not find her paperwork and said there was no record of prepayment. THIS was extremely stressful. They should have worked all this out before we had gotten there! Very unprofessional. After several phone calls to the office in Pensacola, they "found" the paperwork. We had a couple of spelling corrections on the obituary they were called and informed about that were missed and then corrected after another phone call. They called in the wrong obit to Pensacola paper. (we had an updated one with the time and date of the service) They called requesting the sentiment for the thumbprint pendant that I had already told them. And then the nice poem that we picked for her prayer card was NOT USED! They put the Lords prayer on it instead. Very disappointed! edited to add: The manager has contacted me and apologized profusely. She is sending me some corrected prayer cards, bookmarks, and DVDs of pictures we had provided. This will help to make what was a very poor experience a little better. It will help to have momentos with the chosen poem on them.
