Wow what a cool art installation! Located on a hill in a new residential community with lots of construction going on. It's a short walk around a retention pond and up a hill to see Big Pete! He's massive and awe inspiring. I went on a Thursday around 1pm to avoid the weekend crowds. p.s. the outlet mall is nearby so you can also get some shopping done all in one trip

Pete the Troll is a giant 65 foot tall wooden troll sculpture by Danish environmental artist Thomas Dambo. Located in the developing River district of in West Charlotte, NC, as part of his global "Trail of a Thousand Trolls" project. Made from reclaimed materials and symbolizing nature and sustainability. It is free to visit this great piece of art from dawn to dusk. After viewing the troll we had a nice little walk on the adjacent hiking trail.

And with that I will share the facts of my diagnosis and prognosis as to know why the rating changed. You know that joke about "Why do they call it 'practicing' medicine?" It's because much of it is not an exact science. Here we go... Emergency room doctors are generalists across multiple medical disciplines. Especially at 10pm on a Sunday night, you're likely not going to get a specialist in whatever it is that's wrong with you. An emergency room physician (which is a medical specialty in itself) will try to narrow down the main cause of your condition, stabilize you, and depending on the prognosis, either either treat you in the ER, admit you to the hospital for further treatment or simply refer you to a doctor who is more specialized in your condition. I visited Atrium Health three weeks ago (see that review below) and the doctor saw me twice, sent me down the hall for a CT imaging and after reviewing the imaging, wrote a prognosis that made sense at the time: a 6mm kidney stone that would painfully pass by itself in 4 or 5 days. I was also provided a referral to a urologist . She wrote me up for painkillers and by the time I was discharged, the pain was much more manageable. I called their urologists and got a full voice mail so I reached out to my own general practitioner for a referral. Long story short (too late!), I've seen the urologist who looked at what the ER doctor saw. It's three weeks later. Warning: Gross bits ahead. Skip the next paragraph if you're queasy about medical stuff. ("POTATO!" -inside joke.) This morning was a scheduled outpatient procedure that stuck a laser up my ureter and zapped the stone. (And thank goodness for a great anesthesiologist because I was blanked out from the pre-op room to the recovery room and I do not remember a thing!) This surgical urologist said that it was definitely bigger than 6mm and it was definitely not going to pass on its own. I'm now at home and 100%, just waiting for the local discomfort to pass in the next few hours. Okay, we're back from the skip. Simply looking at the calendar we can see that it has been 22 days since then. The stone clearly didn't pass and I've not had any further issue with it since then but I didn't want to wait. Obviously, it's been more than 4 or 5 days. Good thing I cancelled my trip to Portugal, eh? So the highlight here is that yes, your ER doctor is going to do the very best that they can. But you should absolutely get a second opinion from a more specialized doctor where possible. [Review 18619 overall - 3340 in North Carolina - 2141 of 2022.]

She's a real All-Star, fully invested and loves helping people. My latest trip for my Injections was (28 May) last week when my shots were administered by (RN) Denise Casey. I had never seen her before but what a delightful surprise!! She not only gave me two perfectly painless injections she was kind, efficient and very professional. She was also a real joy to talk to/with. On a scale of 1-10, I grade Denise as solid 12+. Hope I see her next appt in 3 weeks. Robert Ray

Atrium cared for my 97 year old mother as she neared end of life. The staff- nurses, CNA's, and physicians were very good with offering clinical information, answering questions, and working with the family to provide quality care to the patient. Direct patient care was very good- the nurses were attentive and responded rapidly to calls for assistance. When the end came the care team followed our requests for end-of-life care despite the natural urge to respond. Staff were very compassionate and respectful to the family who was there. Was everything perfect? No. But in the very complex world of health care, Atrium Pineville cared for my mother as I had hoped they would.

In My Atrium app for each appointment at this facility there is a reminder that valet parking is offered at this location. The dozen times I've been there - they are always closed and you are forced to parking in the blue parking deck which isn't a bad walk when the weather is nice but when it's raining or 28° outside that's another story. I'd like to suggest they remove the mentioning of valet parking since they are not really offering it. Don't set the expectation then not deliver on the service.

Although my dad didn't survive from his illness the doctors, nurses and staff were excellent and did best they could for him. Moving four years forward the medical industry has seen many changes and these hospitals have seen an exception. Although I'm sure that doctors and nurses do the best they can, I do notice them working under that much more pressure and during several circumstances my sister had to talk to nurses about which medication had to be administered and which one's shouldn't. It seems there was a confusion on this matter on how notes were written down. Facilities are very clean, well maintained and staff was knowledgable and friendly. There is ample parking for visitors with free parking if you get your ticket validated at reception area. There are various restaurants in hospital for staff and visitors, but my favorite was cafeteria on third floor which had good food at a decent price and was very delicious. Overall my both experience at these facilities was good and treatment to patients is handled with loving care and although we live in an era where people have lost faith in medical field due to COVID pandemic and many mistakes you can look forward to getting proper profesional care at these facilities.

Great customer service! The place is a bit outdated but I can see the effort that they are putting into to update it. The room was spacious and looks like it was recently renovated. I did wake up with bed bug bites. I prefer not to show any photos. I was able to catch 6 a.m. shuttle back to the airport in the morning. I wouldn't stay here again unless it was a accomedeonation for a delayed flight.
