I read Rhiannon S's review and decided to write my own, it might serve as a "note of concern" for anyone reading. I got my veneers done by Dr. Connelly about 5 years ago. They turned out pretty good--but only because I bypassed Dr. Connelly and visited the lab directly. This is because the temporary veneers he made honestly looked awful. Flat, unnaturally white, and no shape. I know its plastic and thats normal, but since I was going to be wearing the temps for 2-3 weeks, I wanted them to look better. I requested a change in the temps to make the front teeth slightly longer (like 1-2mm), to make it look like a normal smile design, which took a whole week to create. But once I got them fitted they looked way worse than the first, almost like horse teeth (i swear, just the front two teeth were 2-3 mm bigger than the rest). Straight up bugs bunny look..... When I asked if he genuinely thought they looked good, he said yes--so did his assistants. That was a super red flag to me. Doesn't matter how nice they seem, or their social media testimonials, you really don't know someone's expertise until you see it for yourself, and theres a wave of nervous concern when your sitting in a chair with sore, shaved teeth, wearing temporaries that look SO bad, and being told to your face "they look great". So I drove to the lab, which is in a different city, to see what the original plans for my veneers were. And yep, just as i thought, the original veneer plans Dr. Connelly gave was WAY to white and way too bulky for my mouth. I had to ensure with the lab technician that for the final design, all front teeth were 2-3 mm less than what was originally planned for (trust me, even a 1mm difference is BIG), and I also changed the white color BL2 to BL3 (honestly, i wish had gone to BL4 or lower). The person helping me decide these things also agreed with me that these original plans were definintely not aesthetically pleasing for me, and way too white. My gripe was that these are all things that should have been done at dentists office. Here's another thing: When you meet Dr. Connelly for a veneer consult, you will not be "customizing" much. He says he already has in mind what you are looking for, and says that he "knows whats best" on what your teeth will look like and what color. I'm sure if u tell him NO, i want THIS COLOR, he will do it for you. But because most people don't know what length, color, shape they want, you'd probably just go with his recommendation, not knowing what BL1, BL2, BL3 actually look like in real life. There's little collaborative design compared to other dentists. Just keep in mind, Dr. Connelly is a celebrity dentist in the heart of LA, working on celebrity's smiles, those are his real clients. So unless you want to have a "movie star" smile, where the teeth are really really white and u like that almost "fake" look, go for it. But if your a person who wants perfect looking teeth that also look very natural, I'd recommend seeing a different dentist who is more willing to work with you to customize your actual veneers in terms of length, color, fit, etc much more precisely. Dont look at videos and see "white" smiles and think they look great in real life. If they're noticeable on video, they're even more noticeable in-person. My regrets are 1. I went too white. Even BL4 is whiter than natural teeth. 2. I did too many veneers. I should've just done the front 4-6 only and color-matched them to the rest. You most definintely DO NOT need to do more, especially the bottom teeth, unless you have actual staining on your teeth. 3. I should've chosen a different dentist. Would've saved me a ton of money and stress. $5K per tooth is overkill. Pros: Office is very clean, staff is very nice and responsive. I've been living in my permanent veneers for a little over 3 weeks now. When I had my temporaries on I figured my front teeth curved out the way they did because of how thick and bulky the temporary veneer material can be. When I take a picture from the side or if you look at me from the side, my smile looks like a big fake chunky piece of dentures were put on. My two front teeth curve outwards like a backwards C- it's incredibly ugly looking and looks horrible. I have contacted Dr. Connelly and his assistant which both have told me Dr. Connelly doesn't want to fix it. Now I'm at a loss for $25,000 for him drilling off a significant chunk of my natural teeth to put these curved out and hideous fake looking veneers on? Im extremely disappointed that a dentist in Beverly Hills with his reputation won't fix the issue. I have contacted another dentist and it's going to cost me $10,000 to make my 4 front teeth look somewhat normal again. I have no words of how upset I am right now. I would have NEVER went with this dentist if I knew he would ruin my smile and then leave me hanging as to not offer any type of treatment to fix it. Once he was paid the $25,000, communication went south real fast. I regret going to him everyday when I look in the mirror and smile becaI'm reminded of what he did to me. UPDATE with my permanents. I am at a loss for words. I couldn't be happier or more confident. The results were everything I could've hoped for & more. The photos speak for themselves! I was so lucky to have found Dr. Connelly during my search for veneer and gum contouring. He is the best in town. He is caring, compassionate and professional. He truly thinks about his patients and wishes the best for them. Throughout the process he made sure that I was comfortable and happy. By the time I saw him, I had consulted with several dentists, periodontists and orthodontists. In fact, some of my work (crown on my front tooth) was half way done when I first saw him. He was willing to take me in as his patent and saved me from some of the work that I didn't need. I had several crowns due to a root canals, and I had to get a mixture of veneers and crowns for 10 top teeth. The lab technicians that he uses are very skilled and their products are high quality. He first contoured my gum prior to the veneer/crown procedure. He did a wonderful job. Throughout the steps that I need to prepare for the 10 top veneers, he has been so positive and encouraging. Lastly, the dental staff (Sarit and Leslie) is amazing. Sarit is the one who assists Dr. Connelly. She's gentle and calming. She's a dentist herself and very knowledgeable. Leslie is present every time I call or email her. She was so friendly and warm. She always tries to accommodate me if I had any urgency. I was so thankful for the treatment that I received. My smile improved so much, and I never thought I was going to achieve what I imagined. Thank you, Dr. Connelly, Leslie and Sarit. I'm so thankful for the beautiful veneers that I received. Dr. Connelly changed my life! I get it, this sounds like an exaggeration, but it's the truth. The guy is amazing at what he does! In hindsight, I admittedly waited way too long to confront my more serious dental issues...so if you have any structural problems and/or aesthetic issues, I would strongly encourage you to at least schedule a consultation with him. His office is gorgeous, his staff is beyond friendly, and his expertise is demonstrated immediately. As background, my front bite was completely off - to the point where I could not even properly bite down on a sandwich or thin slice of pizza. I met with countless dentists and orthodontists in LA, but no one could sufficiently solve my problem. Within the first ten minutes of meeting with Dr. Connelly, he gave me the confidence that he could correct my bite in a very timely (and affordable) fashion. And he certainly made good on his promise! The guy worked miracles with my teeth, and I am literally grateful for his services every single time I bite down on a sandwich :) Additionally, I recently started to feel discomfort on my back molar, a problem which my old dentist was never able to diagnose (I've now moved all of my dental/orthodontic matters to Connelly). I went back to Dr. Connelly, and he discovered a hairline crack on my back molar (because he's not only more competent than the other dentists, but he's also at the forefront of dental innovation), which he was able to fix with his proprietary laser equipment and high-caliber tooth cap material. This procedure made me realize how important a top of the line dentist truly is...I mean, does your current dentist own and operate a laser?? Overall, I've never been more impressed with a single service provider in my life. Dr. Connelly and his staff is absolutely amazing! I am usually scared of going to the dentist but I have to say I had the most pleasant experience with Dr. Connelly and his team! To start, Leslie, his patient coordinator/office manager was so sweet and caring. She even held my hand during the gum lift procedure. Dr. Karz did the numbing injections before the procedure- her technique was so smooth and gentle I didn't even feel the needle! She is a total pro! And Dr. Connelly himself is hands down the best dentist! He is confident and have a gentle demeanor that will make you feel at ease. I highly recommended Dr. Connelly and his team to anyone who is looking for a pleasant dentistry experience. They will get the job done and make you feel comfortable and pain free at the same time! Ok so first of all I've been wanting to get my teeth done for years. I haven't smiled with my teeth in 15 years and I was planning to get married in October so I decided to do it before that day. I went to about 7 cosmetic dentists and didn't really love any of them. Either I didn't trust them, or I didn't like the before and after photos or heir prices were just plain absurd. Then one day my husband who is a dermatologist said, don't waste your time - just go to Dr Connelly. Boy was he right- Dr Connelly is absolutely amazing. First and foremost, he really cares. You walk in and the first thing he asks you is what do you want? (Every other doctor tried to tell me what to do). Dr Connelly was genuinely interested in how I felt. Then he showed me before and after a of exactly what I wanted. Pretty, white, NATURAL looking teeth. They were perfect! Then I looked around his office at the framed covers of Elle, Vogue, etc of super models we all know well and it was clear they were all his patients. There is a reason Victoria's Secret models go to this guy! What I also really loved is that when I brought my friend Pam in to have him look at her teeth - he actually told her she could fix them with Invisalign! Every other doctor on Beverly Hills would have tried to sell her on new veneers but Dr Connelly was super honest and told her how to fix them without spending more than she needed to. Dr. Connelly combines the best of NYC practices and Los Angeles so you know he knows how to adapt to his patients. He has a few different teeth artists he uses for the material (some from Europe) and he'll explain why some of his sources may be a bit more expensive than others. He's also got a nice Midwest personality so he's easy to trust. Most importantly my teeth look gorgeous! Seriously, I've never felt more beautiful and the only regret I have is not doing my teeth with Dr Connelly earlier! I can't believe I spent the last 15 years not smiling without my teeth! If you are thinking about doing your teeth and you live in LA or NYC - don't waste your time - head straight to Dr Connelly - you'll get an honest assessment and if you d o go for the veneers you will absolutely love them!! It is common knowledge Dr. Connelly specializes in giving people beautiful, glamorous smiles as seen in the stunning, natural results of his veneer work. Truly he is amazing and his work has been noted to transform lives. I came to Dr Connelly for bridge work after he had done a remarkable job on my boyfriend's veneers. Due to many disappointing experiences with dentist in the past, I developed reluctance with moving forward with major dental procedures. I had previously undergone unwarranted teeth removal in my teenage years and root canals and caps that continued to fall off and need repair. My immediate concerns when meeting with Dr Connelly were four missing molars, and a root canal cap that needed repair. This was causing my teeth to shift and I was developing a major overbite. Firstly, Dr Connelly is just plain ole cool. His calming, confident, and unpretentious presence instantly dissipates insecurities and reservations. I felt confident in his well articulated plan of action and yet he still managed to exceed my expectations. He works quickly and makes sure you are doing okay throughout procedures. His attention to detail and level of service assured me I was in good hands. It is evident he desires the best possible outcomes. He not only wants you to be happy but he too wants to be happy with the results. He has pride, integrity and an obvious love for his work. He is a skilled, knowledgable professional. It's impossible to dismiss his artistry in dentistry. I couldn't be more happier with my results and the process. I had four bridges and they look and feel so natural. No longer am I ashamed to smile or laugh out loud. I no longer have any missing teeth. I chipped off half of my front tooth when I was 11 and have struggled with having an off colored tooth throughout my teens and early 20s...until I met Dr. Connelly! My friend referred me to Dr. Connelly after getting a full set of beautiful veneers and I am still so thankful that she did. Dr. Connelly is a pleasure to work with - someone who really cares about his patients and his work. He's down to earth, meticulous and stands by his work. He was able to perfectly match the color - not an easy feat for a single tooth - and he recently did it again. A decade went by with my crown and I stupidly chipped a corner off while biting down hard on a fork tine...thinking that it was an extra stubborn thick piece of a broccoli stem. ‍ Dr. Connelly remembered me after all these years and was able to get a new crown made. Dr. Connelly and his team are AMAZING! I could not have had a better experience with my visits, and that is pretty hard to say when visiting a dentist, especially being as picky as I am.
