This review is long overdue. Dr. Rashad pulled my daughter's wisdom teeth. My daughter needed a specialist since she is over 35 years of age and he was just the person she needed. He was very gentle with her and kind and compassionate My daughter truly appreciated that he was so patient with her, and so was I. I would highly recommend Dr. Rashad if you need your wisdom teeth pulled. My daughter had minimal swelling and minimal bruising, and she didn't even need pain medication, which is not to say that there was no pain at all. It just wasn't that bad. One of my daughter's wisdom teeth was near a nerve and this required precision when pulled. Not only was it near a nerve but at least two of her the wisdom had roots that had grown so long that they ended up curving! Dr. Rashad took his time and studied the x-rays and did a fantastic job of pulling out those teeth. On another note, while we were in the waiting room, I was a bit anxious (and mothers tend to be) and much to be delight and surprise, I met a very sweet woman who confessed that she and her husband FLY in from Atlanta just to see Dr. Rashad. She totally put any worries or fears or questions to rest. Not only that, but I learned that people actually fly in from France and Dubai just to see Dr. Rashad and Dr. Leedia Riman (Dr. Rashad's sister - who also works on my daughter's teeth and does a beautiful job as well and deserves just as much praise for her patience and kindness towards my daughter!) I have to share my terrible experience. My tooth cracked in the middle of the Corona Virus Quarantine and my insurance covered dentist was not available for this emergency. I found R Dental from a referral and was able to get in, which seemed like a blessing...until the visit. Iveta had me fill out paperwork but gave little explanation as to what any charges were going to be or for what services. My card was charged $420 upfront; I hoped it would go towards a fix for my tooth. They took a panoramic x-ray that did not focus directly on the specific tooth in trouble. Dr. Riman applied cold to see if there was sensitivity. He said that my only options were to have it extracted or a root canal. He then stepped away so Iveta could quote over $5,000 via payment plan to get it started that day. She also said my insurance doesn't typically cover root canals so regardless with them or another dentist I may be paying out of pocket (I now have a referral for an endodontist fully covered by my insurance). I left the office feeling so defeated with no solution for the moment and out $420 while already facing financial hardship from the economy shut down. I found another dentist two days later who was able to perform specific x-rays, clean out the cavity area and fill it with composite as a temporary hold to prevent possible infection until I was able to get a root canal - all of this for $380. I've spoken to several dentists now about the costs presented to me from R Dental and they have all said that these costs were way too high. I emailed the office and presented my frustrations and requested a partial refund to at least leave me feeling like they cared about my experience. Iveta called me in an outright fit and when I said I felt I was being taken advantage of, Iveta stated that "I was the one taking advantage of them as they were risking their lives to see me!" She said the only thing they would consider would be knocking $200 off of the $5000 IF I had the root canal done with them. I do not care what zip code this dentist is in, on what street, or what part of town, and nor should any patient. What matters is the quality of dentistry, communication, and assurance of what is best for the patient; like their yelp "specialties" says (but doesn't deliver) for a 100% satisfied experience. I am 100% dissatisfied and would encourage anyone to place your trust elsewhere for true value...especially if you have a dental emergency in the middle of a pandemic. read more

Perfectionist! Thank goodness there are dentists like Dr. Riman! I've had the "unfortunate" experience of having a molar go "hot" on me in the middle of a business trip to SoCal earlier this year. I was desperate for relief and was über fortunate and discovered Dr. Riman. Dr. Riman is a perfectionist. While he was fabricating my temporary crown, he discovered that it wasn't going to work. He had his assistant create another mold and started the process all over again. I've never experienced this before. He was willing to take the added time and expense to ensure that the TEMPORARY crown was fitted properly! I could go on and on about why I enjoy seeing this dentist (and I'm not to keen on getting into a dental chair). He went out of his way to ensure that I was comfortable. During many visits to others, my experience in getting novocained up has never been a pleasant one. 99% of the time, they or their assistant will inject you and speed through the process. You leave their office feeling that you were just in the boxing ring for 10 rounds. Not so with Dr. Riman (& that's when I decided that he's "the one"). Not only is he a perfectionist, but he's patient, kind and is adamant about making sure you're comfortable in his chair. When I legally became an "adult" I made all the bad decisions many do. Candy for breakfast? Sure! Junk food as a means of sustenance? Why not?! Hard drugs with adverse side effects? You only live once right?! After all; I didn't expect to live to see 34 years old and statistically I wouldn't live to see 35. There are systems in place designed to prevent me as a black trans woman from thriving. I internalized that societal messaging and allowed it to hinder my self care. As I overcame drug addiction, chronic homelessness, and addressed my PTSD-- I had to learn and unlearn many habits. Although I'm rapidly becoming a well known national figure who candidly shares my experiences to empower others; I'm still playing catch-up on my self-care routine/practices. My teeth/ smile which were once my greatest feature aside from my skin had become a source of shame and embarrassment. I realized I hadn't cared for them the way I should have and was too ashamed to go to a dentist because I thought I'd be scolded for my self negligence and made to feel bad for not having the resources or desire to take better care of myself throughout the years. A few days ago I had pain that radiated from my teeth, jaw, side of my face and ear. Some friends in the entertainment industry referred me to Dr. Leedia and out of desperation I went. She and the team at R Dental Group made me feel at home from the time I called to schedule an appointment and even through my first extraction, and pulpotomy on another tooth. Dental care is one of those things that I know from a couple of childhood experiences can go terrible if you're in the wrong hands. And honestly the anxiety doesn't go away when you're having your teeth checked up as an adult--unless you're visiting Dr. Leedia. She and the rest of the R Dental Group give what many dentists in LA lack: incredible customer service. I've gone to their clinic for fillings and also to have my Invisalign arranged, and suffice it to say that both experiences went smooth. As a dentist, Dr. Leedia does a very precise and quick job--my experiences are always painless. She also keeps me informed on my procedures, which I think is important so I know what I'm going into. The clinic staffs are just as helpful and warm! Dentists, even in LA, can make you shrink in your chair in discomfort or overcharge you for dental care, or worse, both, but I have never had that experience with Dr. Leedia. I'm so glad I trusted Dr. Riman to give me a smile makeover. I'm beyond happy with the results! When I arrived at R Dental, the staff were all very kind to me. Dr. Riman took the time to ask me questions, get to know me a bit and see what results I wanted to achieve with treatment. Ladies, I ask that you don't judge me... because I have a confession to make. You know how I've always mesmerized you with my smile? Well babe, no one's perfect... neither are my teeth. You see, some spots have a bit of imperfection I'd rather not point out. A few cavities. A few bad teeth. I know that breath of mine is worth dying for... truth is my two wingmen minty Altoid and BreathSaver have my back when I need them. But a man's a man when he's ready to admit his flaws and readjust his A-game. There's nothing more embarrassing when another man walks between us and his teeth attract you more than my smile. My friend did that to me last month, and I wanted to punch him right on the mouth. Instead I chose to maintain my classiness and decided to up my game. I took my insurance card and proceeded with caution as I walk in to R Dental Group's dental office. I expected to deal with a dreadful journey because my time is just too valuable. I heard laughter and smiles from patients as they were leaving. This was rather an unfamiliar territory, but I continued to proceed. Dr. Leedia and her assistants immediately welcomed me and had me take a seat in the lobby. Coffee was put out front with some fresh water bottles. I quickly pointed out that coffee wasn't good for your teeth, but they told me to chill out, relax and enjoy it. Yes... That did just happen. Within a minute they took me in and had me take a seat. Dr. Rawad helped assist in an X-ray. They evaluated my teeth and identified what I needed to do to restore my A-game. There were cavities I needed to fix. Pulling wisdom teeth was suggested (as this will ensure my charm will last for much, much longer). Before I left, they did teeth cleaning on the spot by removing stains and scheduled a followup for the week after. Fast forward, I have my wisdom teeth pulled by both Dr. Leedia and Dr. Rashad, and the procedure was actually fun. No, I'm not crazy -- I agree dentists are generally terrifying, but these aren't ones from the same kind. This team is clearly in business for my loyalty, not my money. They made sure I felt that I didn't need them, but wanted them. No question was stupid, no negative judgment on my teeth, no guilt tripping. At that moment I've uncovered the holy grail -- a team who pride themselves in professionalism and loyalty. Aside from that, they're hot (see pics). In the end, I'm a new man with a fresh smile ready to take on greater challenges. Customer service is an enormously important quality in a business. R Dental helped repair some dental work of mine: an old filling wanted to escape. This stuff happens despite my OCD for flossing. I wanted a more permanent solution and opted to go with an onlay, which would ideally be closer to an actual tooth than a standard bonded tooth. Dr. Rashad Riman did an amazing job that left my tooth looking perfect. It was almost impossible to see where any work had been done. But they provided extensive coverage of what they did to my mouth, explaining during the procedure and also providing video recaps with your Doc recapping the procedure on screen. This provides a personal touch I haven't had any dentist do. They are extremely thorough and there was an element of precision to everything they did. Dr. Leedia Riman also did a fantastic cleaning and made sure to check in on me during my other procedures to make sure she knew what was going on. Dr. Rawad Riman also made sure to check in and that makes sense since they are a sibling operation. They support each other and make sure they aren't strangers to each others patients, which is all you can ask for. Their dental assistants are rockstars too. Definitely check this family operation out if you have any dental needs. read more

When choosing a dentist, I didn't want to wait. I didn't want to feel like I'm being sold a car. I don't want to feel like the dentist is just working on some random patient, but more concerned with the insurance policy. Not at this practice. I've only been to R Dental twice, and yet they greeted me by name as soon as they saw me. Now, you can say they reviewed the daily schedule prior to my arrival, but the personal touch is only the beginning of their patient care. I felt very comfortable with the sister dentist. She made me feel at ease and ready to take on whatever my mouth had constructed or deconstructed since my last check-up. it was also great to hear the brother coming in and out to make sure she was getting what she needed for my proper care. I loved that they took the extra step to double check - not the usual, "ok I half-assed it, now go." The only problem I had was the parking. It isn't optimal, but when it comes to my health that's not an issue. At least they had a structure across the street, I just need to remember it's a one way street. read more

Who wants to go to the dentist? Not me! I'm not afraid of the pain, I'm afraid of having to pay thousands of dollars, all stemming from a routine teeth cleaning. The advice that I receive from R Dental Group is always on the conservative side. They never just give me a laundry list of things that I should do. They will tell me things like "make sure this doesn't become a problem" rather than just seeing a small problem and instantly scheduling me for a bunch of procedures. They really work with me on maintaining my teeth at home, rather than just letting things go wrong and having to pay them to fix it. Dr. Leedia Riman is extremely careful in her work. My previous dentist seemed like he was on a huge time crunch, and I had to pay for that. He wouldn't explain anything and would start working even before the numbing medicine kicked in! Dr. Riman would explain everything that she was going to do at her desk, before she was working - a practice that is gone in most dental offices today. She was also patient enough to numb me, and then wait until I told her that I was numb enough. Now let's talk about pain. I was having a lot of procedures done in one day. She numbed me with a topical gel before the numbing injection. I honestly didn't even feel the needle push against my gums. I literally felt nothing. We then waited together until my mouth was numb enough for her to proceed. During the whole procedure I felt nothing. Unlike my previous dentist, Dr. Riman understood that the numbing medicine wears off over time. My other dentist would just keep going even though I said that I was in pain. She on the other hand, asked me a number of times if I was comfortable, and took the time to make sure that I was not bothered at all. I was very surprised at the price of this dental clinic based on its location. The office is located in the center of the trendiest part of Beverly Hills, and yet the prices are great. They aren't looking for you to pay for the location, the prices are very fair. Overall it's very reassuring to find an honest and skilled dental clinic. It's one less thing to worry about! read more

Just an update of amazing things I've realized in comparing R Dental with experiences from my past. Today was my second visit for an onlay! Not only are the people amazing but the holistic nature I'm approached is so greatly appreciated! Lavender oil, Vaseline for lips (don't you hate the chapped lips and hurtful lip sides) and the guard put in my mouth to help keep it open. I never realized how tired my mouth gets. This dreamy thing was comfortable and didn't hurt my jaw from the continuous holding my mouth open! Gentle hands in using the machinery was great. Usually the sound gets to me but headphones to help cancel the noise a bit. I'm really grateful for a great experience with dentists that truly care!!! read more

Came here to see Dr. Riman for wisdom tooth extraction. He made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. I was awake the whole time and he was always making sure I felt no discomfort. He did his best to fully warm me about how my face was going to feel in the days/weeks to follow and I'm glad he did because it was good to know what to expect. I was so grateful that he prescribed me the pain medication to help me manage the soreness that came the next day. Overall it was an as pleasant as can be dental experience since I know a lot of people (including myself) has a bit of a fear. As someone who has gone to the same dentist for the better part of my life, moving to a new city and choosing a new dentist was pretty scary. After multiple recommendations from coworkers, I found myself making an appointment with R Dental Group, and couldn't be happier that I did. I met with both Dr. Rashad and Dr. Leedia for my initial consultation where they took X-rays and did some periodontal charting. They explained everything that was going on, in case you're the type of person who gets nervous with people digging around in your mouth, and put me at ease. They went over a full treatment plan, explaining the different options available to me, as well as my insurance plan. Dr. Leedia was in charge for my deep cleaning and again explained each step what was going on inside my mouth, and was quick through the process. She was so sweet the entire time, checking to make sure that I was comfortable (as comfortable as you can be when having a deep cleaning done) and wasn't in too much pain. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, but the process was only slightly uncomfortable, and was super quick thanks to her skilled hands. Both Dr. Leedia and Rashad have created a practice that is friendly and inviting, are fully knowledgeable in their field, and have the personality to explain everything in layman terms and make you feel super comfortable. Some people may think twice about choosing a Beverly Hills doctor (attitude/cost/etc), but they are unlike any expectations that I had. I am so glad that I found R Dental Group. read more

What can I say? I have never come across a group of dentists quite like this. The dental gods have really smiled upon LA by bringing this wonderful practice to us. My story: I had been using a non-fluoride toothpaste for several months and started to feel an ache in one of my lower molars (take note: "Neem" toothpaste does not work). I decided to visit this new practice because I had seen Dr. Rashad for cleanings many years ago at another clinic. After taking x-rays, he noticed that a pretty large cavity had formed and, after consulting with his sibling-colleagues, concluded that I needed a 3/4 crown. Dr. Rashad did a great job preparing the tooth, and I was scheduled to come in a few weeks later once the lab had finished making the crown. When I came in to have it fitted, I felt that it was just right - perfect bite, etc. But they were not satisfied... They took the time to walk me through the five things they look for before cementing a crown - contact, the internal fit, the margin, the occlusal contact (which I didn't understand), and aethetics. As easy as it would have been for them to go along with my wishes, they insisted to have it sent back for some slight adjustment. No one wants to go on any more visits than they need to in order to complete a procedure, but I learned that crowns aren't always 100% perfect. I thought I was going to walk out feeling disappointed, but instead felt relieved to know I was being cared for by dentists who are first and foremost honest with themselves, delivering only the highest standard of care. It has been a fantastic experience at R Dental Group! They really have made me and my family feel so welcomed. Their technology is all high tech and their service is genuine, honest and thorough. I suffered for several months from an old broken filling from a previous dentist. Food was always getting caught and there was pain in my gums and teeth. Dr. Leedia Riman saw me and she took care of everything so well. She was so very gentle, constantly checking in on me and reassuring me how things were going. It just felt so nice to be under great hands and my tooth feels AMAZING. What a difference having a good dentist makes! I have to mention the staff there is wonderful as well. I came into today for a cleaning & I must say this is by far the best dental office . I was sweetly greeted by the receptionist & she explained to me what I'm signing. I was later brought in for an overall survey of my medical history & they just made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I don't trust dentists easily but my mom recommended me here so I trust her. The dentist was extremely careful with me & she let me know to raise my hand if I felt any discomfort- but she was so great with her hands & gentle I didn't find the need to tell her she was being too hard. she did an amazing job & the 3 overall dentists are so sweet! And excellent customer service! They'll do an amazing job on your teeth - you can trust them!! read more
