This is our third time using Thomas Catering for small events. They are the best. Employees are helpful, patient and very friendly. The food is excellent and the service is also. The food is always on time, hot and very delicious. Sherri is the person to talk to for party planning. I called her a few times for a small party and she was always available and willing to help. My family have used their catering service since 2012 all for private family gatherings for about 5 or 6 times now with guests averaging 50 to 100. Melissa, Skip and the entire crew are very courteous & business friendly. They listen and do their best to accommodate specific requests (food arrangements, condiment presentation, type of plates/utensils used, menu preferences, among other things). My wife and I including my relatives are happy with their overall service and food. Given them adequate time and space where the food will be catered buffet style, the presentation comes out awesome! I have been in the hospitality business for almost 25 years and have hired many caterers, this folks are top notch. Hired Thomas Catering for an event. Melissa emailed me an invoice (word document with no company name, address, logo, etc....) with the price that we agreed upon and I thought we were all set. I hired them to bring the food and serve it buffet style although this did not say so on the invoice. 24 hours before my event she called me to confirm the event which was nice but then she says to me, "We're just dropping the food off, right?" I said, "No, we paid the extra 15% to have it served. That was my whole point for having the event catered.....so I didn't have to serve food or my guests didn't have to serve themselves." She says, "O.K., see you tomorrow" Then she called me back about an hour later and says with extreme attitude, "I've been trying to email you something and it is getting kicked back to me - What is that about?" I said, "Pardon me? What do you mean? I'm not having any issues with my email, are you sure you have it correct? By the way, what do you need to email me?" She says, "Your invoice" I told her I already received the invoice, a month ago..... she said that was before she realized that my address was more than 30 miles away so they needed to charge me another $90 and that would be in addition to any "tips". I felt like I just got slapped in the face! I said, what the heck? Are you serious? We agreed upon a price a month ago.... She explained that she just checked my address so I told her that wasn't my fault. Of course I expected her to do that when she originally quoted me. It really isn't fair that you dump another $100 bucks on my bill 24 hours before my event. She has the nerve to start yelling at me?!? Stating that why would I expect the driver to go so far just to bring my food and not expect to pay for it and besides.....there is a comment on the price list that says (travel over 30 miles one way$45 del charge). I said, fine but why wasn't this on my original invoice? I wouldn't have booked with you in the first place... Also, I want to point out that no where on the price list is their name, address, logo or even phone number!!!! So....even if I wanted to I wouldn't have been able to figure out if they were driving more than 30 miles. Besides, again, if it was, why didn't it get put on the original invoice? I repeatedly told her how upset I was that she backed me into a corner and that I was very concerned that she would tack on even more charges. She just continued to raise her voice at me.....her customer....before I could only ask her in my crackled voice to just please be on time and hung up. So, I got off the phone with her...this is Thursday....the last Friday, my Dad passed away and this event is for my daughters engagement party which happens to also 2 days before Christmas so I'm just trying to hold it all together. The more I thought about it, the more I felt that they either wouldn't show at all or she would try to ding me for even more money so I ended up ordering from a local restaurant instead and cancelling. I am so disappointed with this company and would NEVER recommend them to anyone. I am in sales, I would never treat a customer the way she treated me. read more

Thomas Catering was recommended to us for our dad's memorial reception. Melissa was wonderful and accommodating. The day of the event Skip and his crew brought in all the food and drinks and quickly set up. The sandwiches were wonderful and delicious and the salads were awesome especially the pasta salad. I received a few recommendations for Thomas Catering and decided to use them to cater a large family gathering. Melissa was very pleasant to work with during the planning phase but I was unfortunately very disappointed by the food and the presentation. To begin with, they used styrofoam plates even though I was specifically told that they would use heavy duty plastic. The potatoes and chicken marsala were mushy and overloaded with salt. The tri tip was dry and overcooked. The green bean almandine not only was void of any actual almonds, but it was surely from a can. The green salad was just chopped iceberg (no tomatoes, cucumbers, etc) that probably came from a bag and the dressings were set on the table in the large plastic storage containers used to transport them. It all reminded me of bad cafeteria food, which is not what one expects when hiring a caterer. Needless to say, the best thing they have going for them is the friendly service but I would never recommend them based on the food. read more
