Where do we begin!? I'll start by saying Thomas Bui far EXCEEDED our expectations!! We initially met Thomas in October 2018 at Hotel Del Coronado. My husband and I live in Colorado but would visit the Del often and we fell in love with it. So much so, that we decided to have our wedding there. I researched the list of wedding coordinators provided to us by the Del and narrowed it down to the top four. We flew out to Coronado to meet all four selected wedding coordinators and met with Thomas Bui first. Within the first 5 minutes of our visit, we knew he was the one! My husband and I just canceled the rest, we didn't want to waste their time. Being that this was going to be a destination wedding, timely communication was key. There was never any delay in communication with us when we reached out to Thomas, either text, via email, or phone. Because of this, not once did I worry that things weren't getting done nor did I ever feel the need to micromanage. This truly put me at ease! I was confident I could fully trust Thomas with everything. With that being said, I also knew the vendors he recommended to us were top notch! Thomas was consistently on point with every aspect of our wedding! Our initial wedding date was July 2020, but with the pandemic we ended up postponing the wedding twice and Thomas was in close contact with us throughout. We ended up moving the wedding to Colorado and were married July 10th at The Broadmoor this year. Thomas coordinated the move to Colorado with every single one of our vendors in California and it was seamless! All 15,000 flowers were transported from California to Colorado in a refrigerated truck and they were beyond gorgeous at the wedding. I always had a vision for our wedding, but sometimes that can be hard to relay, but not with Thomas! He knew exactly what I wanted and made that vision come to life. Same is true with my wedding dress. Thomas and I visited a few bridal shops in San Diego, and nothing really caught my attention. Thomas recommended a designer by the name of Galia Lahav. We found a bridal shop in Denver that carried her line of dresses and was he right! I found the wedding dress of my dreams! Thomas and his team have superb attention to detail. Thomas Bui was recommended to us by a friend. It was the most straightforward recommendation. Our friend said, "he was the best investment we made for our wedding". He only provides full service coordinating and he's not cheap. But, like most things... you get what you pay for! I could probably right pages with examples of our wonderful experience with Thomas, but I'll keep it short and to the point - He is full of ideas, professional and very well respected in the wedding business. We have a very busy lifestyle and difficult schedule. We knew we needed a planner to help me keep my sanity during the 9 month planning process. My husband is in the Navy and on a carrier so he's in and out of port. We had to make the best of the time he had at home and we didn't want the wedding planning to consume us. We also knew we wanted every detail to be "us" which would be impossible to put together without some help. We're also two different personality types when it comes to planning and Thomas balanced it well during the planning process. Thomas always recommended the right vendors for every detail we wanted. If we had an idea, he'd help us develop it and find the right person at a fair price point to make it a reality. I think we went with his first recommended vendor 99% of the time even after meeting others. The more time we spent together the more he got to know us. He simply had the right instinct for what we would and wouldn't like in décor and food. I didn't have the time to scan tons of vendors, spend hours online, etc. Thomas has an entire network and extensive experience. I just had to send him a quick email and he'd respond almost instantly with an answer or that he's looking for the answer. Our favorite part of working with Thomas is that we felt like his only client. We knew we weren't and he's extremely busy, but there's a lot to be said for a coordinator who can make you feel like you're his #1 priority ALL the time. You'll never hear him vent or look stressed. He's always well composed and professional. It's easy to get really friendly with wedding vendors because some of it is really fun to do, but you're paying them a lot of money to do a job. Thomas is fun to work with, but remains on task all the time. Every couple is different and if you're looking for someone who will make your wedding day as unique as you then Thomas can make it a reality. Don't be cheap though and expect to get a dream wedding at a bargain. Thomas will be straightforward whether something is fair priced or overpriced. He'll negotiate for you and make sure you're comfortable with what you're spending. He'll also help you walk away from vendors when they're not the right fit. He is literally at your side through the whole process and the day of the wedding he and his team are on point. Every single time I needed one of them they were within a few steps. I never had to answer a question, stress about anything, or worry. As soon as someone asked me a question, one of them was at my side to help. They were my "brain" the day of...I just enjoyed our day with no worries which is how it should be. To conclude my (long) review, I'll share this...our wedding day would have been just as happy and full of love with another coordinator because getting married and starting our life together was the whole point. I love Thomas! He saved my sister's wedding. Initially, my sister hired another wedding planner who turned out to be the wedding planner from hell. She kept pressuring my sister to make a decision without any guidance or creative design. When I confronted her, she would argue that she was just a planner and not an event designer. What?? 3 weeks leading up to the wedding, my sister was stressed out and still did not have her flowers, linens, or stationary. There was no theme or color scheme. Luckily I read the reviews and found Thomas. I forwarded his information to my sister who called him right away. He was returning from a trip in Hawaii with another client and called her back that evening. He felt so bad for my sister that he was going to help her with the design behind the scenes while my sister worked with the other planner. This would mean that he would not be able to take any credit for his work. My sister told me that she felt better in her one conversation that she had with Thomas than the months that she spent with her other planner. Thomas has an artistic flair and will provide advice when you need it. And my sister needed advice. She was down to 3 weeks with no ideas. He calmed her down and helped her make decisions. When we first booked our outdoor venue, I had assured my future mother-in-law that San Diego rarely ever rains in August. When they found out we didn't have time to make a run for drinks (open venue), Bonnie went out and bought it for us so that we didn't have to worry about it. What an amazing day, and what an amazing guy that made it all possible. We are a busy couple, but one that was as involved as we could be in arranging the most amazing day. We got Thomas Bui's full planning service which was a great decision! 2 religions, 3 languages, divorced parents, lots of opinions, stressful jobs, everyone's life is complicated. The only reason we were able to enjoy the planning process is that we had cool-headed Thomas who was on top of everything at every moment along the way. You don't know what you don't know, and that's one of the many reasons to get a great planner. Thomas is of course an expert in all the details involved in planning a great wedding, but he is also naturally an EXTREMELY detail-oriented person. That is the kind of person you want as a wedding planner, and this combined with his strong artistic sense is unique. We can say this because we met with a number of the best wedding planners in SD, and we were quite pleased that the decision was so clear to us. He had the experience to know what we would want ahead of time, what family and guests will want, and knows all the ways to accommodate everyone for a great party and a magical experience. We came in with many ideas, and Thomas helped us bring them to life. We had many planning meetings with Thomas which helped us always be well informed and know what decisions need to be made. After getting engaged in February, it was decided that we were going to attempt a wedding in July of the same year...4 months! To research further, I looked on his web site, then called him. We set up a meeting. I was already convinced that I wanted to hire him prior to the initial meeting, then after talking with him, it was confirmed. We talked, emailed and met in person enough to make me feel at ease, without making me feel overwhelmed. It was a good balance. He truly has amazing eye and I put a lot of decisions in his hands. There aren't enough fabulous words to describe Thomas Bui! When I first began planning my wedding I thought that I could handle this no problem...I had a year to plan! But trying to juggling work, life and now a huge wedding was very overwhelming. Enter Thomas Bui! He came highly recommended by the staff at Estancia La Jolla (our venue). From the moment I met him, I knew we would work great together. I hired him immediately. During the next 10 months of planning Thomas played the role of wedding coordinator, marriage counselor (got my husband to agree to more of my ideas LOL) and friend. His guidance throughout the ENTIRE process was so helpful and reassuring. When you are putting so much time and effort in planning your dream wedding, you definitely have complete meltdown moments (I'm a perfectionist). From the moment Thomas stepped in, no more meltdowns! He was there with me every step of the way, even meeting with me and my other vendors (which helps b/c he can speak the lingo). He is extremely professional and approachable. I spent a year planning my wedding with Thomas Bui and I couldn't be more upset that it's over! From the second that I spoke with Thomas on the phone to check if he'd be available to plan my wedding, I knew I'd hire him. I hired him July 2017 and got married May 2018. He is amazing to work with. From negotiations with vendors to picking linens and designing floral arrangements, Thomas does it all. Aside from being organized and on top of every single vendor (he doesn't take crap from anyone!!), he takes the time to check in on you to see how you and your family are doing. Because of Thomas and his team I had nothing but a positive experience planning this wedding out of state. I found Thomas through Yelp. My now husband and I read a few of his reviews and decided to give him a call. It was the best decision I ever made regarding this wedding (aside from marrying my husband!) I live in Oklahoma and we wanted to get married some place in Southern California. Thomas stayed in my budget and made the whole process quite easy. He brought me the best vendors to work with because he already had a lot of experience working with them. We only had to go out to California twice, once to pick the venue and once to get the rest of the details in place. I have heard of all the horror stories from other brides about their experience working with a planner, but mine was wonderful. The wedding went off without a hitch. It was a perfect weekend! The most stressful part of our wedding was honestly the search for a wedding planner. Once we found Thomas Bui and his team, it was stress free from there on out. I started planning my wedding in November 2016, a year in advance. I knew I wanted a wedding planner and I started looking at the recommended vendors listed by our Wedding Venue.
