Walked around La Porte on a Saturday evening to visit some antique shops and stumbled upon Thode Floral. The shop has an amazing variety of plants and gifts that it took some self restraint to not buy a ton of things. The owner was there and she was the sweetest person! Since they're closed on Sunday, the flower fridge/case is wasn't stocked much anymore but the arrangements I saw were beautiful. We were absolutely thrilled with our flowers from Thodes for our wedding! I was concerned I wasn't clear about the flowers I had asked for, but it was as if they had read my mind! We had to cancel so many parts of our small COVID wedding but these flowers brought us so much joe and we're far for plentiful than we had thought. Unfortunately recently we had to have funeral flowers on valentine's week-end. First the flowers did not cost us more. I have had to order many flowers in the last five years, these were by far the very best. Even with the extreme cold the flowers were perfect,just the way they looked in the books. The smell was amazing. All the pieces went together perfectly. It is a shame that other floral shops can't seem to provide a beautiful product! read more

Pros: Salesperson on the phone was courteous and pleasant. Arrangement was delivered promptly, as promised, and I really appreciate that. It looked really nice, fresh, professionally designed. Not like a vase of grocery store flowers or anything like that. And today, 5 days later, they still look bright and fresh. I like supporting local businesses instead of 1-800 businesses. Cons: I was a little disappointed to see (in person) the size of the arrangement for what I paid. If I used them again I would ask for more details such as...how tall will this arrangement be and approximately how many flowers will be in it. And maybe even...could you text me a photo of it before you deliver it? I would say maybe it's just me but I recently sent several arrangements for other occasions (babies, birthday) in different communities and they were 20-30 percent larger and equally professional looking for the same price. As residents of Romney, IN a couple of hours south of La Porte, we needed to find a florist in the La Port area for my oldest daughter's wedding. We talked to one other florist in the area before being warmly welcomed by Jessica at Thode's Floral. She made us feel right at home, listened to our ideas and came up with amazing, yet affordable floral arrangments for my daughters September 2011 wedding. We made the right choice - the flowers were amazing and stayed beautiful all day/evening long. Therefore, we didn't hesitate to return to Thode's as our florist of choice for my youngest daughters August 2015 wedding - even though the ceremony and reception will be held in Veedersburg, Indiana. We recently met with Jessica and had the same great experience. She listened to everything my daughter has invisioned for her country wedding. We will have a family member pick up the flowers from Thode's and deliver them to the wedding site. Why would we go to the trouble? Because, we feel that Jessica and her team at Thode's is worth it. We know the flowers will be amazing and affordable. To sum it up, I will go out of my way to use Thode Floral and to recommend them to others. Great job Jessica and team!
