Her signature dessert is a blackberry swirl cheesecake. So light and creamy, great blackberry flavor and delicious compote on top. This is a John Hancock signature dessert. My wife and I went to Fernandina to celebrate our 38 year wedding anniversary. After dinner my wife said "hey there's a bakery shop down the road we must stop at"! So glad we did! This is very nice bakery with a lot of great options to choose from. The owner is very friendly and pleasant to talk with. I ordered the Banana Fosters Cheesecake and it was very good!!!!! We drove roughly 90 minutes specifically to try out this bakery. Got there about 15 minutes after they opened, walked in and were greeted with I'm running behind... Then greeted by a great big, hairy dog. I love dogs, just not with my food or in a very confined space. They had a chocolate dessert, cheesecake and a few flavors of cupcakes, because I have driven that far and heard rave reviews about how amazing everything here was - I didn't want the weird greeting, or the hairy dog to turn me away. A slice of triple chocolate and a cupcake, and a tip and it was well over $20. The food was fine, the ambiance was weird, I'm not sure why a dog is in the bakery - I love dogs, just not with my food or the running behind, not feeling well comments. I really wanted to love this place because of the amazing reviews that I've heard and read over the past year, highly disappointed is what I walked away with Will I try them again? Possibly, but only if I'm in the area. I don't mind driving up to two hours for good gluten-free food, especially baked goods, but this bakery was not worth the drive, at least not today. read more

If you are GF this is a must!! Not all GF goodies are created equal and these are some of the best we've had. My husband is GF but I am not and I would still recommend even if you aren't GF. The lemon curd cake and butterscotch cookies were my favorite but everything was good. My husband really liked the cheese cake!! The owner was amazing: friendly, helpful, kind, ect. This shop is small but does have some seating inside and out. Just a heads up our navigation took us to the wrong place (right road wrong building) and we had to use her Instagram photos to find the right building but it was worth the adventure. read more

A few weeks ago we bought several slices of chocolate/orange cake with chocolate icing. The cake was moist and tasty but the orange gel, or whatever is used, wasn't very tasty and had an odd texture. Recently we bought some cheesecake slices which were "just put out". I took that to mean it was they were freshly made. Imagine the surprise when I found several frozen spots in the cheesecake....now I'm wondering if it's made in house or in a commercial facility. What a surprise to not only find a gluten free bakery but to have their products be so fresh and delicious! Tina offers some amazing cakes, pastries, and cookies. We tried a layer cake, two cheesecakes, and two kinds of cookies and all were yummy. Delicious! If you are within a 100 mile radius of this bakery then you must find your way here! The most tender, tasty almond cake - just like the best ever wedding cake! The buttercream icing is light and fluffy with the prefect level of sweetness. I can also tell you that their chocolate cupcakes are the best I've ever eaten! The sponge is perfect(in my best British Bake-Off voice). Peanut butter icing is scrumptious! My husband is not gluten free and has just sworn that the chocolate chip cookies are outstanding - not only on the gluten free scale but on THE cookie scale. We stopped by this lovely bakery after someone in a furniture store gave us the card for Thirteen. We had no idea what to expect and we walked into a bakery wonderland. When you walk in the door you are greeted with such a gorgeous little shop. It is decorated so beautifully. We loved the single desserts. So far, we have had the Almond cake, the lemon cheesecake with blueberries, the chocolate cake with cherries, the cinnamon chocolate chip cookies, the cookies with toffee, and my favorite of all time is the oatmeal craisin cookie. One is NEVER enough! We will never buy anything again from another bakery. We were trying not to go there but once a week, but that has quickly turned into twice a week. Every time we go we have such a nice visit with the owner Tina and her special friend Ava. If you do one thing during your visit to Fernandina or if you live here, you need to visit here asap.
