After 4 years of engaging with great staff and customers at the place, an unfamiliar female staff member, presumably management, approached me with the following abrupt, unprecedented demand: "You've been here three or four hours. Don't do that." I had arrived at 11 am, and it was just before 1 pm when she approached me during my Zoom call. Two hours. Quite the rude surprise. The rest of the staff have been so kind and, for four years, have never complained about my patronage, even when I stay for a couple of hours chatting with locals or working on my computer. Let me offer the following admonition: If you're going to play Christian music, act like a Christian. If you're going to run a business, exhibit a modicum of consumer relations acumen. Don't spring arbitrary time limits out of the blue. Post a notice if you'd like, but rudely approaching customers you've never spoken to previously with unprecedented demands is not the way to elevate your reputation But perhaps this is just one mendacious bad apple, oblivious to the importance of civil discourse. If so, it may be time for the place to make some staff changes. -- A little leaven...

We walked up here after playing a couple of hours with our 6 year old granddaughter at the Children's Museum of New Hampshire. Unfortunately, our granddaughter had a very loose tooth. They had a good children's menu but we all agreed that the only thing she could probably eat was the mac and cheese. She even had a hard time with that, then on the second bite, magic happened, the tooth came out. She was too excited to eat for a bit, but managed it through half of her mac and cheese. Even though their kids menu says "Eat all your meal and get a Harvey's Treat: cookie, cup cake or donut" the waitress got her a cupcake. I had the "Harvey's Pick a Pair" with clam chowder, one ham and one chicken filled Vienna Rolls, and potato salad. The clam chowder was good and what I expect for a New England Clam Chowder; rolls were filling, but pretty standard stuff. My wife went for one of their summer special breakfasts with blueberry crepes, two eggs, sausage, bacon and potatoes. In all the excitement over the loose tooth, I forgot to take pictures, especially of my wife's plates, but the crepes looked amazing. I almost wished I had gone with what she got. To finish off our meal, my wife got a slice of coconut cream pie and I got a slice of chocolate cream pie with I shared with my granddaughter.

The building is very low key with minimal signage and a regular solid entrance door. The place was redone and unrecognizable from its predecessor old school restaurant. The wood flooring from before still remains The dining area feels less cluttered with no more sofa & coffee table, less decor and no TV on the front wall. There are new tables and chairs and an updated counter area. The patio area is currently closed. The menu offerings include a variety of bowls, sandwiches, most dishes with hummus and tahini, plus baked goods including gunion flatbread, sweet poppy seed bun, soomsoom bun, & cinna-babka. I stopped by Mana Kitchen over the weekend. I was greeted as I walked in and had an idea what I wanted to order since there's a framed menu posted by the outside front door. I ordered the Chucky Khan ($21 plus tax) without the tahini sauce (they substitute lemon juice). My food was ready to go in 5 minutes after ordering and paying. The Chucky Khan entree was an excellent choice! This dish had very tender slow roasted beef in a sweet spicy sauce, which had great flavors, served with coconut white rice topped with sesame seeds, red cabbage, and Jerusalem salad with diced marinated cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, peppers & herbs. I thoroughly enjoyed this tasty dish!
