At first I felt very good about taking my BMW to Chad. He seemed to be very nice and has excellent reviews. He was able to diagnose the issues with my car quickly and seemed to be straightforward and honest. I felt good about finding someone who's shop prides itself on honesty and integrity. I still have a little more work I need to do on my car and planned on going to Third Coast Bimmers from now on. However, reading two negative reviews on yelp claiming that Chad is not as honest as he appears sparked my curiosity. I gathered the quotes Chad gave me and headed to TWO auto shops that specialize in German engineering. Both of these shops confirmed that the quotes Chad printed out for me were unusually high and way more than what they should be, including the quote for the alignment. They said they would charge half what Chad does (if not less), and can't understand why his quotes are so high. I then showed them the receipts from my past two jobs done by Chad and both were very surprised. I'm a bit disappointed that Chad knew my situation, being 17 and having to pay for these expensive repairs on my own. I know a little about cars, not a lot, and I definitely don't know how much jobs are supposed to cost. If these accusations are true, then Chad is very dishonest, and takes advantage of anyone who doesn't have extensive mechanical knowledge. I'm very disappointed having to leave this review. I own a shop in Friendswood. Before I expanded into full auto repair we sent 3-4 foreign cars to Chad to diagnose and/or repair and when we do that we simply refer the customer to the shop instead of saying we can do the work and then outsource it and mark-up the repairs to our customer. Shortly after we expanded into full auto repair we had a Land Rover come in for transmission issues. Our diagnostics turned up a number of other issues including a large number of electrical codes and any of them or the other problems could have caused the transmission to work incorrectly. We didn't want to sell him a transmission repair until we got all the other "noise" out of the way or at least diagnosed and decided it was best to send it to Chad. Long story short, Chad didn't fix any of the other issues and, instead, sold the customer a transmission repair. The customer got the car back and still had the other issues (he called to let us know) including some shifting problems. The lack of professionalism, morals and character is astounding and disappointing all at the same time. When I expanded into full auto repair the first thing I did was to go to the shops that were sending me transmission work and I reassured them I would never try to steal a customer they had sent to me. We've had several sent to us that didn't end up being transmission issues and we always refer them back to the shop that sent them to us. It's the ONLY right thing to do. I'm really disappointed in you, Chad. I thought you seemed like a decent person but this tells me you put profits over doing what's right and that is a deal breaker for me. read more

I no longer agree with my previous post seems like every time I take my vehicle to Chad shortly afterwards something else needs to be repaired. The last time I got my car back from Chad it was running worst then it was when I took it to him. I believe he knows what he is doing but I no longer trust him as a honest mechanic. I'm picky- very picky when it comes to who wrenches on my car. Chad has worked on my 2012 supercharged Jaguar a couple of times now and helped me diagnose an issue on my Z06. He's knowledgeable, polite and pays attention to detail. He does what he says he's going to when he says he's going to do it. He even called me a week afterwards to see how the car was running and make sure I was satisfied. I'll be using Chad whenever possible. Happy with service provided. Chad called within 3 hrs with diagnosis and recommendations. Had confirmed battery needed replacing, and other faults that needed to be handled by BMW dealership for software updates. Had oil changed since it was due also.
