In an age…read morewhere supermarkets and convenience stores are taking everything away from small businesses, the Waverley has battled through and is still a very popular shop within West Kirby and Hoylake. This is because of the level of service given to customers and the dedication of the shop owners for good quality and service. Not only do they stock a range of newspapers, magazines and traditional confectionary, they also specialise in wine and chocolate. In fact, friends have said that the owner is a wine expert and at least two of them have gone to seek his advice when needing wine for a special occasion and when buying for somebody who knows their wine! I've always had very pleasant experiences here and would recommend buying from here over any supermarket!

Went in for an electricity card and didnt really know what i was doing but the gentleman serving…read morewas so helpful and obliging and told me what i needed to do , he even let me use his phone to phone the elecricity company up to find out the number etc we needed as we had just moved into our house and never been used to using cards before, couldnt thank him enough for all his help, while i was waiting for the electricity company to phone back i took alook around the shop which was well stocked and very convenient for the local people.

An outsider venturing here would fail to be impressed as it bears little difference to a billion little newsagents up and down the high streets of Britain but, for the most part, they're all equally brilliant. Where else can you burst in five minutes to closing time on a Christmas Eve demanding medium-slice bread and be answered with what you asked for, as opposed to a smack in the mouth? I'm just gutted I wasn't alive in 1905, when the building was used as a 'chronometer manufactory'. What the hell do either of those two words mean? Answers on a postcard.

This little place simply happens to be called Michael's and happens to sell a few art related items. It's mostly stationary and cards, though, and it's more of a newsagents than anything else. Nothing special here, I'm sorry to say.
