I wanted them already a bit grown so I can get ahead start growing my vegetables. As for the fish, they had two gold fish, but a decent selection of other fish, pretty much they carry the low maintenance easy to take care of fish, nothing too exotic, but they did have some ugly eel looking fish that were not eels. They were creepy. Great selection of plants, flowers, cactus, seeds, and nutrition for the following. You can also find chicken feed, bird feed, dog food, cat food, fish food. The prices are fair, a few pounds below Pets at Home. They have a good selection of dog toys, dental hygiene products for dogs, hygiene products for dogs and dog treats. I didn't bother to look at the cat section due to not having a cat I didn't pay attention. They have a variety of guinea pigs, rats, birds, domestic fish, live meal worms, live crickets and live grasshoppers. I loved their selection of cacti. I found several I wanted for my office at work, but went against buying a cactus in fear I would get in trouble at work for pulling out the sharp spines and placing them on the seat of my cubicle mate's chair. I abstained from the cactus purchase. Left with some lavender seeds and parsley seeds, which were on discount for discount £0.99, two knuckle bones for the dogs, some dried sausage for the dogs, and Arm and Hammer toothbrushes and toothpaste for the dogs. Homebase is situated out of town, on a small complex with a few other shops. Its a very large…read morestore, with two floors. The downstairs floor is full of home decorating, from paints and wallpaper, to light fittings and furniture. There is a greenhouse type room off to one side where you can get all your gardening needs, including compost and plants. There are big trolleys available to put all the heavier stuff on which come in very handy! Upstairs is where all the bathrooms and kitchens are, there are numerous displays available to view, and the prices are reasonable too. There are always plenty of staff around to help, and most of them are pretty useful and helpful too. There are a number of tills, but Homebase always tends to get very busy on weekend, especially if there is a 10% event going on. There is ample parking, with Homebase sharing a big carpark with two other stores.

Going in there for a specific item is pointless. the only thing that we did find was some nice tiles. They do have some nice garden furniture on display in the summer, and quite a nice christmas range in winter. The fencing section is not too bad and the plant range is ok as well. The plumbing and electrical sections are limited. We did manage to buy a nice front door here for a good price though, so i think its one of the places you need to persevere with! To be fair it is not one of the larger stores so this could be why i never find what i want!
