This is our second year coming. They have so many interesting things. Very pet friendly bc I brought my pup in his stroller. Everyone is very helpful. Doesn't look like much on the outside but inside a ton of stuff. If you're going in the fall/winter wear your sweater it's a little chilly. They did have a few areas with heaters but I always end up in the spots with no warmth read more

Large antiques mall located in an old building. A good selection of Antiques and Collectibles. It had been approximately a year since I last visited the business and much of the inventory was the same. I had trouble finding the location using Google maps. read more

i had a really weird conversation with, i guess, the owner. a friend brought in a pine desk that i turned down yesterday. today, i asked the owner if he would like to trade the desk for the dining table i chose instead from my friend. the owner said that he'd give me the desk with the request for me to tell my friend not to bring back anything to thieves market. then, i offered to pay, but the owner said it would be expensive and that he would just give it to me. i said that i didn't want to start drama and left. i've got the heebie jeebies! read more

"Thieves" is the best word I can think of to describe this place. Imagine walking through the junk yard in Sanford & Son and then finding the price tags that are more at home in Neiman-Marcus. Prices in here are so inflated that they must be betting on tourists with money to burn as customers. I know most of the items are individual vendors but when you mark something up 300% and then mark it down 50%, you are either a thief or a government contractor. Many of the items are damaged far beoynd repair and the overall quality of the merchandise is very poor. As a person on the lookout for vintage and antique items, I am well acquainted with auctions and antique shops all through the Southeast. This place is not a good stop for a serious or even an amateur collector. I had to use the phrase tourist trap but I think thatsums it up. If you go, avoid wearing anything clean that you care about. The place is filthy and many of the items are caked in dust. Total. Fail. read more

Love this place so much. If you have a couple of hours to spare & check this place out. The staff is extremely friendly and always ready to help. The building itself is massive & filled front to back with all kinds of different things, we spent so much time going back and forth because we saw something new every time. Love it! Saw the sign last spring when I was driving through Florence - when I came back this spring unexpectedly, Thieves Market made my "I wanna" list. Place looks like more than a bit of a tip from the outside than it is on the inside. Different strokes for different folks, but I didn't find anything remotely Sanford and Son - like (or, even more decrepit, like most actual junkyards I've visited). The (intentional) styling and repurposed / upcycled feel of doesn't translate into a junkyard, JIMHO. I found a number of cool bits and pieces to work into some repurposing projects I'm working on (shelves, large wall collages, an occasional table, and bookends / frames). I'm sure that their inventory is variable to say the least), but I had a lot more interest in the things I could work into other things than the larger, more sorted-out bits for sale. Maybe it was the reality that I was limited to what I could fit in my car, though...several of the metal items outside were easy to picture in my garden... Spent ~65$. **Though I don't usually review this sort of spot after one visit, I'm doing so to document the impact of one fairly off-grid tourist, traveling without family, just to make an HB2 related point** If I'm in the area with an hour or so to spare, Thieves Market will be one of my regular stops. read more

Great place to spend a couple of hours looking around. Best to go on great weather days. Little or no A/C and they use space heaters in the winter. Tons of great stuff. Loads of furniture and plenty of unique finds. If you love to plunder this is your place! read more

Thieves Market - Antiques Near Me - Florence, South Carolina

We accidentally found this place while looking for a flea market on our way back to VA from Charleston, SC. At first, I thought "What is up with all this stuff outside?" Then we saw the inside of the building: if you like variety in your treasure-hunting/antiquing, this is for you! This place is clean, well-lit, and very inviting, once you get past the variety of metal items along the front of the building and on the porch. NEVER PATRONIZE THIS PLACE!!!! I have visited hundreds of antique malls covering most of the 50 states, and I have never been treated as rudely by the staff here than any other mall I have ever been in. They refused to contact a seller about an item that I had a question about, insulted me about my knowledge of an item I have collected for decades, and then to top it off, accused me of damaging a different item in the store that I barely touched! All of this while shopping here with my family from out of town, who were extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed by how they treated me. How is that Southern hospitality?? The place is very over priced and not worth your time, unless you like your antiques covered in about 5 inches of dust! BEWARE!!! read more
