My experience with them started off as a non-emergency consultation. Enrique came out right on schedule, we walked thru the issues, and I got a text with the official estimate. He was very clear about what needed to be done and how. He didn't try to scare me into a remodel (yes someone else tried that). I also got estimates from 2 others, but SR was the best. Their estimate wa comfortably within my budget. NOTHING WAS LEAKING AT THAT TIME so I planned to schedule work early January. Then I came home to leaking ceiling. Since they're available 24/7, i called their office. Maria was able to schedule Jimmy to come out within a couple hours. He made sure the pipes were OK, then found the bad seal on my tub. Four hours after coming home my ceiling was no longer leaking, my tub was sealed, and we had plans to fix the rest before the end of the week. Finally, the day of the planned project arrived. Jimmy came out early because I had an afternoon commitment. Everything went exactly as he said it would. Time and cost matched my estimate/ consultation EXACTLY. (Luckily no surprises midway thru the project). He wrapped up, checked his work, and cleaned up. Will 100% be saving this business to my favorites.

Three years ago he was able to fix a long-standing kitchen sink drainage problem that other plumbers failed at repeatedly. I called Connell this last time because I had two outside faucets that were giving me fits. Nathan came over and I told him I wanted two new frost-free faucets installed. Nathan told me that before I shell out the big bucks to replace them, he could take a look at the current faucets and see if they could be repaired. Nathan quickly reviewed the faucets and explained what needed to be done. An hour later I had two faucets functioning better than they ever have before and he saved me about $900. I now have peace of mind and Connell Plumbing has a lifetime customer.

I found VanderBosch because they ranked high on Google when I asked about the job. Actually, they had a whole blog post about the service and I learned a lot. Jordan called me back and let me run down the whole project and told me what they would charge. I walked away from the conversation really wanting to give the job to VanderBosch, but Jordan is a straight-shooter and told me that they couldn't finish the job as fast as his competitor (for boring, but significant reasons). So, this competitor to the initial company took the time to call me back, listen to my issue, give me the straight facts, and all because he was so focused on the well-being of a potential customer that in the end, couldn't even book his company. Why can't everybody be like this? This is some real "city of big shoulder" stuff from a Chicago-based company.
