Best thai food in the area. We moved from Dayton and missed our old place, but this place makes of for it quite nicely. I still haven't gotten past the Pad Thai as I absolutely love it. Wife normally orders Pad See Ew which she loves. They have a bacon/rice dish that I can't think of the name of that is fantastic, although I think I can hear the grease clogging my arteries when I eat it. We have been going to Thida Thai for about 3 years and enjoyed every experience except for our past two. Both times we did an online order and have gone to pick up our order to find they didn't even start it after we waited the 25 min it stated it would take. Both times we got just an apology and asked us to wait another 10 min so they can make it. Ugh.. that is the last thing we want to hear being we did nothing wrong, they did. I think it would be best Thai food around Nashville area. I am a vegetarian and I usually order Curry Fried rice and that is real good. I have tried other vegetarian entrees and those are good as well. I would like to give 4.5 stars as there is no option here to give between 4 and 5. I love this small, intimate restaurant! ... as a small business owner, I'm very particular as to quality and service. I support LOCAL, non-chain restaurants and the food here is as good as it gets. I generally eat 2-3 times a week at Thida Thai. This is a local favorite for business men and a quick, quality lunch. Be warned... come close to opening for lunch or you may have to wait for a seat. Dinner is relaxing and charming. I love their vegetarian Pho and the ability to spice it however I like. I don't understand how a previous reviewer stated their Pho was too spicy when you add the quantity of jalapenos to the Pho yourself. The crispy duck is perfect. Probably the best crispy duck ever. You can easily eat here under 10 bucks with their lunch special which include curries, stir frys, or fried rice with a chosen protien. Definitely a great deal! Wow the food is actually pretty good if you can get it. Took the family in tonight and were promptly sat and then forgotten about for ten minutes. How i am not sure as the whole place only has about ten tables. Finally a server took our order and then two minutes later came back to ask us to move to make room for another party. We obliged and after moving waited several more minutes in vain for drinks before giving up and leaving. We had an event to attend in Smyrna and after reading the reviews decided to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. We normally dine out for Thai in Murfreesboro or Nashville, but now we have another choice. The seating for such a popular restaurant is a little limited, but not really their fault, the good food and fair prices draw the crowds. We shared an appetizer and rather than a full meal just two smaller entries. They were flavored the way we like (3) and my wife had a (2) and they were great. We'll be back! read more

By husband said this place won't be good. He said nothing that has Thai & Laos combined is ever good. I told him to be open minded and try it so we did. The place looks clean inside. Its small. The waitress/hostess seemed in a rush even though there were only 2 other customers in there. We ordered the Pho (husbands favorite dish) I got the Pak Kee Mao. The pho tasted so watered down all I could taste was pepper and celery! 3 pieces of meat in it and way too much noodle for it. It was so bad :( I told her I wanted my food a 2 on spicy level. Well when I tried my food it was like a 7 in spicy. I kept picking Jalapeños out of my food! I couldn't even enjoy it. It had maybe 5 whole jalapeños chopped up in there. The waitress kept picking up out plates when we weren't done. The total was $26 for tasteless Pho, and too spicy and blah pad kew Mao. Great Thai food. I would recommend the Sampler #2 for an appetizer. It has a little taste for everyone. Everything we ordered was tasty.

This isn't your typical Asian cuisine and I'm grateful! Thai food is my favorite and this place does not disappoint. I will agree with the other reviews on the hit or miss service but it isn't so bad that it would deter you from returning. To me they are a bit pricey, but again it's not your typical Chinese restaurant, you may think the price is worth it. Perfect spot for a date night.
