I arrived early and had to wait for my room, but I think they wound up upgrading me to a suite on the prestige floor without an upcharge. It was wonderful. Breakfast buffet was not included, but at 22 euro was a bargain, and had variety for traditional Dutch breakfast, French/German styles, and US/English style. All very nicely done. Had an early pick up for a taxi back to Schipol at the end of our stay, and the night clerk graciously prepared coffee and tea for us. Would certainly stay again if I had reason to come back to this city.

It does turn into a bit of a labyrinth on the lower ground floor. The hotel is well used by businesses as it has a wide range of meeting rooms, big and small. The staff were all helpful and friendly. It is a tidy and clean hotel. The restaurant is large and always had a good helping of business people, hotel guests and walk-in's. Whilst it was not the most adventurous menu it was functional and certainly did the job. THey have bikes for hire so if you have the time there are a couple of paths which take you off into the local forest, if you go the right way you will stumble across a nice little cafe.

Merel van Dort from The Slaak recommended the Rotterdam Marriott, and even offered to cover the difference in rate. Bonus point #1 to Merel for having done this! I then began working with Demi Vevat at the Rottderdam Marriott, who managed the transition seamlessly. We had a few last minute cancellations, which she also graciously allowed us to cancel. From working with Demi, to checking in, to our overall experience, I have to say the customer service at this hotel is as good as it gets! Everyone went above and beyond to ensure our stay was great! Shout out also to Olaf, who was a gem to work with! The rooms were spacious and clean, the Concierge Lounge had a great breakfast and evening snacks. We had a couple of meetings in there that afforded us a quiet spot to meet. The proximity to the train station is PERFECT, and the ability to walk to many places is easy. Clean rooms with stuff not properly working here and there like lights or water flooding the bathroom after shower. A bit noisy. Average bar, ok restaurant. Bars closes at midnight except 2 am on weekends. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere. Sky bar on top of the tower is nice. View on basically nothing. Wi-Fi free all over the property. Breakfast is included- and is elegant and rich- hard boiled eggs, meat/cheese tray, bowl of breads, and coffee/juice. Would prefer to have been given choices only not to waste such great food. I find after traveling for many days I sometimes want something plain for breakfast such as oatmeal, plain scrambled eggs or simple bowl of fruit. Room was large- 2 full size closets plenty of hangers, shelf space, robe provided. Fireplace which warmed things quickly. Nice Neopresso machine in room with glasses and beautiful selection of coffees- too bad there were no directions on how to use it- so I didn;t. Big cozy towels, comfortable beds. Plenty of outlets for charging all those electronics we travel with. Bathroom is modern- big tub in room- shower/toilet glass-sexy for traveling with your companion- not so much for family travels. Staff was extremely helpful- carrying bags-checking in, finding parking and in general very attentive to those staying at the Hotel. There is an excellent restaurant on site that is packed every night so be sure to let staff know if you want to eat there. Music from the restaurant does vibrate upper sleeping rooms- so that may be something to consider when booking. Unfortunately I did not have time to see if the location was walkable to shopping, other restaurants or area attractions. Nijmegen seems to have a vibrant city with a lot happening- the restaurant was packed both nights i stayed there. Called a week prior to arrival and was told I could take a taxi for 80 Euros each way. This would be more than the 106 cancellation fee charged for cancelling the reservation. What was so disappointing was that if had they simply responded to my initial inquiry I would have been able to cancel for less, very shady practice.
