Dr. Poppee has been a true blessing in my life. I developed long-haul COVID after a severe infection and eventually had to go on disability. The daily pain, flare-ups, and brain fog have been overwhelming -- but what made the difference was having a doctor who refused to give up on me. She listens to understand. She doesn't rush. She doesn't dismiss complex symptoms. When answers weren't obvious, she kept searching and sought second opinions. She treated me as a whole person, not just another appointment. In a time when many patients feel unheard, Dr. Poppee restores trust in medicine. Her compassion, attention to detail, and dedication truly stand out. Dr Poppe has been been my primary doctor for eight years. She gives a thorough exam. She is unhurried in the exam room and listens deeply to what I say. She asks clarifying questions to make sure she understands issues. She follows up on issues from one appointment to the next. She is personable and easy to talk to. I highly recommend Dr. Poppe as an internist and general practitioner. Her practice is efficient- I have rarely been kept waiting. Her care is excellent. read more

Only the best to say about Dr. Poppe! I sparingly use online tools (reviews, etc) but this as an exception. In a recent encounter, she worked me in same day and from there, got me in to see the necessary folks to get me out of pain (in my case, for surgery). The staff, along with herself, are the best you could ask for. Her patients are fortunate to have such a caring individual overseeing their needs. *Note: this review is for IHA Internal Medicine, but not specifically for this doctor. I could not find IHA Internal Medicine listed separately from the OBGYN office. I was referred here to find a primary care physician after an ER visit for chest pain early this year. I came prepared with questions, a complete health history, and most recent blood labs. Doctor did not look at any of my information or take my concerns about ongoing shortness of breath and occasional chest-pressure as serious. I also asked for a referral to an endocrinologist for an ongoing autoimmune thyroid condition. I received a referral from the doctor and was relieved that at least I could meet with someone to go over my labs and take a look at my current synthroid prescription. All I needed to do was fax them some extra information (as they would not take any copies via email). Faxed it. Office did not receive first fax. Did not follow up. Re-faxed it after I learned they had not received it. Allowed them to blame me for not receiving it the first time. After calling back again this week to check on the status of my fax, the referral and to find out when I'd get an appointment, the office staff 1) has no record of a referral in my file or that I asked to see an endocrinologist, 2) had no idea why I'd sent the fax, 3) was unwilling to check with my doctor to sort out the issue, 4) and just sent in a request for a referral, which will be sent to the doctor whom I already saw to sign, which will be sent to the office to which I originally requested the referral. I am writing this two months after my initial appointment. Stunning incompetence. Their disorganized office, unhelpful staff members, and overall unprofessional practice has cost me an inordinate amount of time and will cost me my health if I am unable to see an endocrinologist and receive a prescription within the next ten days. read more

This review is not about Dr Poppe herself. If she worked at another office, I would go to her in a heartbeat. She seems to be a wonderful doctor. My review is about the office and the inability to schedule appointments or have them kept by the staff. I have two experiences that I will share about this office. The first was my second visit there. I was having an allergic reaction. Dr Poppe was not available so they scheduled me with another of the 20 doctors in this practice. I arrived twenty minutes early. My appointment time comes and goes (keep in mind I am still having an allergic reaction). Fifteen minutes after my appointment a man who arrived after me was called back. My husband questioned the recep who said she didn't know why we weren't called and that we should have been and we were the next ones. Twenty minutes later, another patient who arrived after the time my husband had even questioned the recep was called back. This was almost an hour after my appointment time and over an hour since I arrived. We walked out and went to urgent care. I was able to see doctor Poppe a week or so later and complained. She was very upset over what happened. Now, today, after being in the er last night I called to get to see someone there today. I have many allergies to medications so the er couldn't send me home with anything for pain, rather I'd need to see my doctor. Again, with the myriad of physicians in this practice I could not get in to see anyone. I went to this practice believing the stories they told me about always being able to see someone because of the size of the practice. It is very important to me to be seen in a timely manner because it is very expensive to have to go to the urgent care or the emergency room. This practice can not provide the service. It is an outrage, honestly. I have seen physicians who are the only one in the practice who will always work patients in when needed. I am not crying over a cold that I couldn't be see for. I had legitimate reasons to need to be worked in and this office cannot accommodate it. I will not be returning to this practice and I recommend that no one else use them. Utterly a disappointment because Dr. Poppe seemed very promising as a doctor. read more
