What a waste of a great location with this terrible food! We were tempted by the promise of ramen and decided to try this newly opened place out today for an early dinner. The concept is super simple, you have a ramen base with a few default toppings and you may choose your sauce and additional toppings/pickles. Intrigued, I went for the Dandan sauce (meat) and cucumber pickle whilst my friend Sarah opted for sesame spinach and sesame sauce with the ramen and an avocado tofu pickle salad. The overall atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant is that of an Asian backstreet noodle shop or hawker stand, with plastic bowls everywhere and condiments on the tables. The food arrived quickly (as it rightly should since it's not complex!) Unfortunately, what arrived was really disappointing. The noodles were under done, chewy and too stodgy. Cloying and not at all how good ramen should be, they should have a "bounce" to them, i.e. Al dente but not overly chewy. The Dandan sauce was like this grey unappetising sludge on top. €6.50 for the basic ramen was a rip off and we both felt we could have made a better version ourselves at home! Sadly won't be rushing to come back to this place anytime soon. If you see it, don't bother as there are plenty more places worth your time and money on the area. read more
