According to the website, "New Moon Readings provide playwrights an opportunity to hear their work read aloud by professional actors, and to receive supportive yet constructive feedback." For viewers, it's an opportunity to see a creative work in progress and hear directly from the playwright, which I thought was really cool. I randomly came across the read-through of TRAD on their website, and booked tickets online (free - but you can also donate what you wish). It was a neat experience and would recommend it!

It is amateurish, booring and both loud at times and too low to hear the characters dialogue at others. This show could have been better presented as a very short 5-10 play and nothing would have been lost. Luna has a pay what you want policy which is great but this time I wish it was a pay after you view the show.

I've done several showcases and none compare to the showcase I completed in Oct 2019 in Manhattan, I received, good and honest feedback from SIX casting directors that knew what they were talking about and were totally honest. Not feeding you "yes man" feedback to string you along. AVS has a variety of training classes that are not only well put together but also given when it's convenient and the price is reasonable. I live in DC and I haven't found the equivalent training here. I've found most classes/courses are way more expensive, not as efficient and they want you to sign a contract for a long term. I hate that and if I'm not 100% satisfied, I don't want to be unhappy and locked into a contract with someone that sucks. Loving AAVS! I take the early bus to Manhattan from Union Station and knock out work or an audition during the day and go to training in the evening. I've gotten a lot of work in NYC since I first found AVS and prior to the COVID pandemic, I was working in Manhattan it-least once a week.

In fact, we had stopped for a great dinner at Gaslight Brewery.

The seating was perfect; the theater was clean; and the sound was fantastic. It was certainly different having those types of movie-theater like seats for a concert, but, due to the calming nature of the two musicians, it still worked. However, there were definitely patrons that were treating it like a loud, standing room venue that were animatedly talking throughout most of the show. He was funny (as accurately advertised), engaging, and good at his job! lol We hired Allen very last minute for a community talent show hosted by our church. We were grateful for his availability and quick correspondence. He arrived early for our sound check and was easy to work with. We had him on stage for 30 min then on walk around for the 30 min intermission. The stage performance was fantastic. Allen works the crowd up and gets people involved. The room shifted quickly from entertained applause to a loud "OH SNAPS"and "NOOO". I stepped outside during intermission but could hear very clearly the intermittent "OHHHHH's" as Allen performed his walk-around. Long story short - I am very thankful Allen pursued his magic side gig and I'm on the lookout for another chance to hire him.

While I had an aisle seat, I found it difficult to see around the person in front of me. In addition to being short, there is no downward slope to the rows of seating at Dreamcatcher. The only other comment I have has to do w/ the restroom in the lounge area. It's a single restroom with a large window. The lower half of the window is frosted, but the upper half isn't...That wouldn't be much of a problem if there wasn't a mirror on the opposite wall. The theater has a three story house as a neighbor and the third floor window can see the reflection in the mirror, therefore the person on the toilet. I admit I was disturbed by that. Also, not sure if this is true for all performances and it wasn't a big deal for me, but when we went to Dreamcatcher on Saturday night, the audience was 75% adults 55+.
