CODER DISCRIMINATION - WILL RUIN KIDS
We had been very loyal to for around 7 years straight, so this there is weight here. We were originally given the 1-1 and some discount which is fine. But some time ago, we were told our discount was for two group kids, which I said was fine because I wanted the social aspect. I already agreed. Never in 7 years (approx) did we ever actually get any access to the shared experience of other kids. They knew my son was a bright autistic kid, and they kept saying they were doing me a big favor by doing just 1-1. Over time, my son did not get the feedback which could have come from instruction that made sense. Over time, because my son is autistic, the lessons were becoming weirder and weirder, but coding something still. It was just becoming a strange plan. I just kept quiet because I thought 1-1 was best, because I was told so, but it was not. I tried to ask for meetings, those were also promised, but they did not follow up on that either.
Coder pours on how much they did for us. Then I suddenly awoken from their constant shining me on and marketing on what was best for my son, I realize that my son was actually segregated away from their other kids, because of his disability. By telling us and convincing me that 1-1 was a favor and even discounted it, was actually a way to keep us from what we were promised. I now see this as a discrimination. They are trying to gloss over it constantly with words, 'let us know what we can do' but they do the opposite. They say it was a custom thing, but it's not.
When I asked for meetings because the lessons were getting weirder and weirder, and guided by my autistic son's logic. If there had been two kids at least, the instructor would have had to create a plan that actually had standards. Coder that has not followed through with their promises to meet to review with me, and the manager was just constantly popping in and out and running out. Him saying he's got 100's of kids to deal with.
As soon as I requested to speak with the owners, the manager of Coder School immediately disposed of us. I was considering quitting, but I had NOT yet firmly decided in numerous emails. When I said I had to continue, they tried to shine me on with words while removing my son off the schedule.
Parents will don't realize until too late, that the coding being taught is superficial which will actually ruin kid's if they try coding on their own. I thought it was bizarre after a while when I asked my son if he knew how to actually code, and he could not. The tutors are only telling kids about it but they will not know how to code for real, or in any potential job you would hope for. Do NOT make the mistake by going to this Coder School. It will ruin your children's potential, while they will keep shining you on with cartoons.
This is not resolved, and I will further pursue until this is resolved. read more
