We love Hackington's! My 9 year old son started going to coding classes 4 months ago. He has tried many extra curricular activities and has usually not wanted to continue after a month. But this is his favorite thing. He says "I like that they teach you in a way that lets you work independently. The teachers are nice and helpful. I'm not scared to ask questions because the teachers don't judge me and they let me work on higher skills if I want to. I like the ranking levels being colored belts like karate. I always look forward to going and I like to practice when I come home. I like that we use real coding languages that adults use. It's not just Scratch where I can make a shark animation in less than 10 minutes. I make real websites with colored backgrounds, buttons, links, tags, pictures and text." read more

Nobody makes learning how to code as much fun as Hackington's does. Every day using the tools that Hackingtons provides my son is excited to do work on his own and to learn how to code. If you think that your kids might be interested in hacking (or rather coding) I would highly encourage you to try Hackingtons today read more

My 12-yo son has loved his time with Hackingtons. Before he was signed up, he knew just a little about coding. By the end of his time there, he had fallen in love with coding and was able to do a small website project for my work. He made a few online friends there, too (which is great during the pandemic). He enjoyed their competitions. I also found the support staff fairly quick to respond to my inquiries. I only wish that they had a more extensive curriculum so that he could continue there longer. He finished all their curriculum in 6 months, and now we have to find a new way for him to continue learning coding (when otherwise he would have loved to continue there). read more

Hackingtons has given my son the opportunity to learn several aspects of coding different languages in a fun and educational atmosphere. He has been attending going on three years now and loves it every week! We even sent him to an expensive week long camp this summer that was supposed to be more advanced, but with the skills he has learned from the Hackingtons teachers, he knew most of what was presented already. The cost for the Hackingtons classes is very fair and they are more than reasonable and flexible with coordinating make-up classes and missed weeks for vacation. The staff is always friendly and responsive. Matt runs a great business! read more

I went to the open house' it was nice but not enough to earn 5 stars. Today however was my 3rd graders first class. I listened in to Matt the teacher and he has a great way to explain coding to the kids. My child came home wanting to learn more! The excitement for learning that Matt has instilled in my son gives this place 5+ stars!! read more

It's been the whole school year since my son enrolled in Hackingtons, and he LOVES it! He progressed from programming in Scratch to writing basic HTML and Javascript and then to more advanced topics like HTML5 Canvas, Bootstrap, and jQuery, learned how to make your own video game, how to create a cool-looking dynamic Web site, then how to publish your video game on your Web site... and he is only 10 :) Matt is an excellent teacher who has a knack of building curriculum in such a way so kids get a grasp on seemingly dry and technically complex topics without getting bored or scared away. 5+ stars, no doubts! read more

This is a great place for kids to hone in computer skills. My son loves it. He has been going here for 2 years.

My son first started taking classes soon after Hackingtons first opened. I am not sure why we stopped going at some point but, fast forward a few years, and he expressed interest in going back. He was able to attend a free class and then start right back up where he left off. The way the curriculum is set up, there is no waiting until a new class starts. You are able to join an ongoing class at any time. The learning atmosphere is super positive and Phil is a great instructor. I like that near the end of each class, he reviews each student's project, providing encouraging feedback. read more

I have two boys who signed up at the Pleasant Hill location to learn coding on Friday nights in September 2014. They continued throughout the entire school year looking forward to it every Friday. Not one complaint ever! The instructor, Matt, has a great way of teaching the kids while fueling their enthusiasm and interest along the way. Although I am not a coder, I am impressed with what my kids develop. They are having fun and establishing a skill set they can use in the future. It's a win-win. After the first class, my older son (who is hard to get interested in anything) said "I loved this. This has been the best day of my life!" That says it all! read more
