I first heard about this studio from a parent of another kiddo in one of my daughter's track out…read morecamps. My interest was instantly piqued because I had been searching for art opportunities that didn't seem so basic for my young artist. Every other option (except one that pushed for full day when I wanted a half day opportunity) I had found offered for her age group before KidzArt had "cute themes" and was basically just drawing or painting on paper, nothing seemed special or specialized for that matter - I couldn't even find a class that offered basic sculpture with clay for my kindergarten kid! When I saw the course/camp offerings here, I was actually excited that this might be something that would work for my kid! There are TONS of different options for camps (both during the summer and for track out) for ages starting at 6 - the Town of Cary classes that seemed like they may draw in my child weren't available until she is 8 years old (the ones offered for her age group just seemed too basic for her abilities). I was thrilled to see that just after the studio opened and on my kiddo's track out there was an illustration and cartooning camp offered - perfect! So far, she has created a lot of great art: some in a sort of "wine an design" but for kids (without wine of course) style following the instruction of the teacher, and some free art of her own cartooning and illustration. There are many materials for the kids to experiment with here and an opportunity for free art time too. The owner and instructors are very knowledgeable about art and also work very well with the children of varying ages - they seem to genuinely care about the kids and get to know them. We also signed up for some classes here outside of the track out camp she is taking. The variety is great and my kiddo seems to find inspiration from the lessons as well as from the other kids in the class. I really wanted an opportunity for her to experiment with more materials and to learn some techniques she could apply to her own art - this studio provides exactly that! She's already learned some strategies with watercolor and shadow that have popped up in her other work (just like how after reading a specific book she will mimic the art style in her new art), and has requested time to work with clay which she hasn't ever really had a desire to do until now. She is really enjoying her experience at camp and definitely seems to be inspired by it! The studio itself is clean, open, and bright. The materials are well maintained, and it is overall a great place for young artists to grow! I'm excited to find more classes to continue to inspire my kiddo - she is also very excited to check out other themes here too!

They sparked a love of writing for her and she would come home wanting to practice writing her name and other words. The Clubhouse is a beautiful and clean building with well-equipped classrooms and stations for kids to play and learn in. The location is very convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food served is nutritious. The playground area is spacious and has nice equipment. I'm writing this review two years after my child attended this facility…read more I've come back to say that I can not recommend this business. We transferred our child to Bright Horizons when we first moved into the area. Our child had no issues at his previous daycare before coming to Bright Horizons. But our child was kicked out of Bright Horizons WITH NOT A SINGLE DAY TO TRANSITION TO ANOTHER DAYCARE OPTION because our 2 year old child who is diagnosed as mildly autistic liked to play with doors. My wife and I both work so this was a major issue for us. If that sounds reasonable to you then by all means, feel free to come to this place. Be aware that what happened to my family may happen to you. Most kids are not diagnosed with autism till they are older - like 3 or 4 years old so this businesses inability to cope may be a problem for you. To be blunt though, I don't think the issue was with our child. We found another daycare two blocks away on short notice who took our child and had absolutely no issue with them. They in fact offered to take them on a permanent basis after several weeks. We like the new place but decided to transferred to another daycare who supported special needs kids in Raleigh. Our child's new teacher loved our son so it all worked out for the best. To summarize: - Three schools had no issue with our child and this one throws him out with no ability to transition. - The staff that had an issue with my child are still showing up on their web site as of this posting. - The the level of empathy and professionalism demonstrated at this business is, in my opinion, lacking. Buyer beware.

I thought for a bit about posting this, but given what I've read elsewhere online about experiences…read morein dealing with this company, including here on Yelp, I felt I had to do so. I own a gaming center. I had been looking to add computer classes to our offering. Last fall I explored buying a franchise from Stem For Kids and met with owner Moni Singh and her team. Ultimately, I decided against buying the franchise because it was not a perfect fit. It was then that SFK's salesman, Antwon Agurs, offered to license selected courses to me, chiefly one in Minecraft. It took a long time to negotiate a simple licensing deal because the director of content, Shelby Jones, took two weeks to respond to pretty much anything, and no one seemed to be able to cover for her to move things along. When we finally did set a training date in March (and I did delay the date once, to be honest), the world changed with COVID-19. Before I had received any instruction materials, or undergone any online training, my business was forced to close until at least June by government order, and I had to lay off all my staff. As of now I don't know when I will be able to open, and under what restrictions (like the number of people allowed into the store) when that happens. I wrote to Shelby asking her to consider a refund given that I had not received any training, and that I really could use the $4,180 I had paid to cover rent. We could regroup to do training and perhaps buy more courses for late summer or early fall, the earliest I could realistically begin offering courses. Of course, no response from Shelby, so a week later I contacted Moni, who initially dodged by referring me back to Shelby. To borrow a phrase, nevertheless I persisted. Some days later, Moni wrote back to say that she would not issue a refund, and that we were all in the same boat. That was not true, because all her other franchisees and corporate stores were established, while I had not even started. Trying to launch this venture during a pandemic panic would be foolish. When I pointed out that the course I signed up for was meant to be delivered in-person and not online, she responded that she had recently developed some online courses and that we could discuss those during training. Did that mean that she would not adapt the in-person courses I had purchased for online use at no charge? Sure sounded like it. There's nothing like a crisis to bring out the worst in people. I had paid for the course only a short time earlier, and I had not received any training or materials. Since her course training was all virtual, SFK and Moni had not invested anything in personnel or materials as a result of my earlier commitment. While SFK may have a legal right to hold on to the money, and motivation to do so given the pandemic's impact on their business, I expected a little more humanity out of Moni and her team. I've seen other franchisors and licensors return money after deals were overtaken by personal and professional events. My company returned fees paid for events this spring without being asked to do so. Then again, reading stories like the one on Yelp from the couple who signed their kid up for a course at the Morrisville, NC location, saw it cancelled due to low enrollment, then have SFK try to force them to drive the kid to another, out-of-the-way location before grudgingly offering a refund, perhaps I should not be surprised. I'll be fine, and I'm taking the time to retool much of my business for when we reopen. I'll get my material for courses elsewhere, in part because the shoddy responsiveness to date makes me wonder about the quality of ongoing support, and of tying myself to this company. If you are considering doing business with SFK, whether as a customer, licensee, or franchisee, be sure to protect yourself on the downside.

Before you enroll your child in Stem for Kids at this location make sure ask them how many other…read morechildren are already enrolled in the class or if it will be cancelled due to low enrollment. Here was our experience. . . We called and enrolled our child for a Robotics class the Wednesday before he tracked out from school. We paid for it ($325) and received email confirmation on Thursday that our child was enrolled and would start the following Monday. On Saturday morning we received an email stating that the Robotics class was cancelled due to low enrollment. Why was this bad? Because our child was to be tracked out for the week and was supposed to be going to the Robotics stem camp, but now two days before it's supposed to start, it gets cancelled and we have to try and scramble to find someone to keep our child for a week or take off work ourselves. To make it worse they then said that the enrollment would be transferred to the Six Forks Rd location in Raleigh, which is completely out of the way. A refund was not offered that weekend either. Not until Tuesday of the week that our child was supposed to be in the camp did they agree to refund our money. It then took nearly two weeks to receive our money back. Just a word of advice in the future to STEM For Kids - Morrisville . . . Please let potential clients know up front how many children will be in the class or better yet the likelihood of it being cancelled so they won't waste over $300 and valuable time as well.

They were very friendly and genuinely engaged with the children during this event. Camila and the gentlemen on staff running the event did a phenomenal job keeping the children busy and engaged. We stopped in for the special FX & prosthetic makeup workshop. Camila really worked hard to keep everyone focused on the tasks at hand and did an excellent job teaching such a large group. The costume contest was a good time as well. There were so many children in creative costumes that took home little trophies and prizes. My daughter thanked me for taking her and is excited to see what else the center has to offer as a young artist. This is a excellent place to invest in your child's talents and gifts. It's also the perfect space to allow them to spend less time off their digital devices & social media. They offer anime graphic arts, music, studio production, acting and more. We look forward to enrolling in the art & music classes here. This is a unique resource and space for young rising creatives. So glad to have stumbled across this center.
