The Greenhills Shopping Center area has two malls that focus on certain items (V-Mall for gadgets and computers, and Shoppesville for clothes). That leaves Theatre Mall as the odd mall with a few theaters (the name made me expect more), some clothing stores, gadgets and repair stalls, a very small food court, and a few other establishments.
I think that perhaps the best reason to visit Theatre Mall is if you're in need of some third-party gadget servicing but are not willing to risk the tiangge outside. Prices and service quality are comparable, anyway, and you have the reassurance that the shops inside won't move around and thus be hard or impossible to find again (the tiangge goes through periodic reorganization).
Eating at the tiny food court can be a painful experience, as the small number of seats and propensity of some patrons to hang out even when done means that you could be waiting quite a while before landing a table. Reserve beforehand or be willing to eat standing up at one of the few elevated tables, or eat at either of the two restaurants at either side that have their own seating.
The movie theater here is fine. Nothing exceptional either way. Though old, it doesn't really exhibit any of the smell or broken-equipment characteristics that you'd fear. The sound is definitely better in the theaters on the other side (Promenade) though. read more
