We wandered into this opportunity to volunteer at the English language theatre in order to attend…read morethe show for free and were all over over it. We sold some drinks, handed out surveys and received free drinks and admission. Walking up to the place it appears very workshop bohemian with artists and studios setting up a beautiful atmosphere. The theatre itself is quite small, or intimate, with the actors in "Orpheus Descending" by Tennessee Williams practically having to step over us which was a bit nerve-racking but exhilarating. At the end we were able to talk with the actors and the stage manager which made us feel much cooler than we are. We must try and go again - as paying customers this time!

I can here for what was a pretty traditional rock concert by Einstürzende Neubauten. The building…read moreitself is beautiful. An old brick building that has been fixed up with lots of modern glass. The show started promptly on time (not used to that kind of ting in the States) and the sound was amazing. All of the seating is on pretty big risers so it's relatively easy for everyone in the audiance to see even at a sold at show. Tickets were a little bit expensive by US standards and the New Years part of the evening was a dude (though the concert was great). Not sure who is responsible for that. Nice views of the river as well from inside.

Truth be told, the former Privatclub location was a tad awkward. Most of the time, visiting…read moreentailed walking through the Markthalle restaurant, opening an unmarked door, and heading down into the basement. For whatever reason, the club recently moved a few blocks away, and is now located next to the post office, and within the same red brick building. In the two weeks since its opening, I've already had the pleasure of being here twice - first at the private reopening party, and again when David Bazan performed. Both times I was impressed by the space. The first, because of is elegant but understated appearance. The layout is quite nice and spacious, and I am partial to the separate smoking room. The lounge area by the bar is nice, and the floor is wider than in the former space. As for the sound, it's pretty good. I have no complaints about the acoustics in the room. The stage is somewhat short, but perfect for sitting on, and seems to be a good enough size for smaller or solo acts. The backstage is also the nicest I have seen in Berlin clubs of this size, although its newness is definitely an advantage. All in all, I am glad that Privatclub has stepped up its game a bit with this new location, and I look forward to seeing more shows here.

We just seen C!RCA's BEYOND and the show was quirky, independent and had a little vaudeville flair about it and the theatre created the perfect setting. We got 25% off tickets with our welcome card which was a bonus as we didn't know what to expect, but after seeing the show I would pay full price for tickets to any of circa's shows!. Yes it did leave me in awe! It was raw talent that was appreciated by everyone in the whole room. It's nothing like Cirque du Soleil and never will be and if that's what your looking for i suggest you move on. If you're looking for something quirky, cool and totally out-there then give this show a chance and you just might be amazed!.

Longer version (for the brave)- we arrived here one night and frankly I was quite surprised- did not expect such a place in the middle of neukölln... Because from the outside it doesn't look like a concert hall at all. So on the inside the place is beautiful too, the ceiling is high and the stage is very close to the crowd, if it was a bit higher it was perfect. Anyhow, you can stand rather close, or wherever, and if you don't like people all around you can go up to the second floor and enjoy the "balcony" view The "garderobe" is downstairs so it causes a little less mess on the ground floor. The bar offers fair priced drinks and doesn't charge you extra for the glass deposit, so have the dignity to return it :) The sound is also great, we were there on the Courtney Barnett show and I enjoyed every moment.
