My daughters thoroughly loved their desserts! Service was mid The employee fixing their dessert was somewhat polite, but the lady at the register was just there. It is a very cute establishment.
Everything in National Harbor is a tourist trap and while this is no exception, if you want a lovely fun ice cream moment, you will definitely get it. The prices are indeed exorbitant and the menu definitely overwhelming. But if you just get a nice basic milkshake, it's not an insane price and you'll get exactly the yummy thick delicious drink you want. If you want to go for the insane toppings and flavors mixes, feel free but they are just overpriced gimmicks that take awhile to make.
The website does this place no justice. When you enter, you're welcomed with smiling faces and more dessert selections that are not in the website. If there was coffee in here, I'd be here for breakfast.
The milkshake itself was okay. It wasn't very thick and tasted more like chocolate milk. The cookie was a bit stale. The brownie was awesome! Overall the cookie dough bites throught the shake made it a good milkshake. The service takes awhile just based upon popularity if this place. I would expect longer wait times in the summer. The scenery and photo ops in here were great. The milkshake themselves were great for social media. They theme a milkshake to their location which is pretty cool! I don't know how I feel about old bay in my milkshake though...
They have a large menu- crazy milkshakes, less crazy milkshakes, large and smaller Sundaes, cookie ice cream sandwiches and more. Prices ranged from around $7- $23 per dessert. I selected a smaller sundae with peanut butter and brownie (around 800 calories for one.) It was really good. The employees were friendly as it was my first time and it was hard to make a decision since everything looked so good. I would go back, however I would not wait in a long line if there was one.
They had pretty interesting flavors and combinations which I wanted to try. I had the half of the double cookies n cream and it was good, but portion sizes were a bit small compared to the price.
This place is overwhelming in the best way--busy, lively, and full of choices. It *is* on the pricey side, but you can definitely see why. The staff was very helpful and attentive throughout our visit. We kept it simple and ordered: * A root beer float * Two scoops of ice cream * A classic milkshake Overall, it's definitely an experience worth having.
We went to the Polar Express at the Gaylord so decided to walk to the National Harbor and came across this place. Service : They were friendly and nice despite it being a busy Saturday night. As soon as the crowd died down they went straight to cleaning the tables and emptying the trash cans. The larger ice cream creations come in a 16 oz mason jar. ($$$) They also have a huge selection of cookie dough that you can sample.
We decided on milkshake after coming out ICE polar express on a nice 60ish degrees weather on a Sunday in Nov. Landed on this place, which I was so glad it was introduced to me .. lol. Decided to share a Cookie Dough Delicious milkshake with my niece. It is that good and it's a milkshake I didn't know I needed. There was little piece of chips at the bottom of the shake.. oohh delicious. I may end up.be coming here everytime I'm in the area and need some dessert! I have yet to try other specialties so I'll leave the extra 1 star for the future. Oh and they will call your number and bring your order to you which I thought was bonus point!
Pricing is not transparent. Asked for an explanation and breakdown of the pricing but received multiple different answers. Based on the price, $12.50 (build your own) + $1.00 (milkshake) + $2.00 (jar) = $15.50, not sure how it all came to $17.50. I was asked if I would want something free, gladly declined, as Im not here for free things, just more transparency on pricing. Thanks for the watery milkshake though!
The place was seriously understaffed. I felt bad for the one guy working, he was so nice and working so hard. It's got some tables and seating, like a normal ice cream place. I think I went to the same chain in New Brunswick, NJ. I liked that they added a special milkshake for our e
First time coming here.So I got a hot chocolate with a scoop of ice cream in it.It was really good for a cold night. My husband got a milkshake and he said it was really good. They have some interesting flavors and milkshakes, and love to comeback
Busy spot with almost an overwhelming selection of flavor combinations. I do appreciate that they have a lot of GF options listed. Ordered a scoop of ice cream with 2 toppings and they managed to forgot both. It was a pretty easy an quick fix at least. The ice cream flavor was good but there were definitely a couple of ice crystals in it.

I stopped by the Yard Milkshake Bar after dinner for dessert. I ordered the Brookie Batter which included fudgy brownie sundae and cookie dough ice cream in a chocolate drizzle cup (it was too go) topped with chocolate chips, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle. Service was slow to start. We waited a while and I finally asked if someone could help us. No response but then someone else came to wait on us. I loved the milkshake but wish service had been better. read more

Can't say I'm disappointed but I can't say I'm pleased either. This does not compare to the ones in Georgia. This one is pretty average. They appeared to have just got over being slammed? It was a little confusing to order at first but eventually we were guided to the cashier to do so. We weren't offered to try anything but if you asked they were more than accommodating. I had gotten the Shirley Temple milkshake and that was alright. Definitely felt rushed when made. Ice cream did feel slightly melted already but that could have just been the way it was made. I did get to keep the whole can of sprite so that was good! It's like I got three milkshakes for one as I just kept refilling the mason jar whenever it got low. The locations in Georgia might of set my expectations of this one too high but I would go here again. This one was clean and taken care of it seems. read more
04.2026 Nice ambience, nice servers. They had enough space for a small group to hang out. It wasn't crowded for a Thursday night but a good amount of people were here. The milkshake was very tasty! Very unique flavors, very fresh! The Oatmeal Crème Pie was soooooo good Thick, not super sweet, milkshake; the best I've had in a long time. read more

We were served by Jiuliana. She was kind and thoughtful, professional, and knowledgeable! She had a very bubbly personality, and it was such a pleasure working with her. The restaurant was super clean. The vibe was really funky and playful. There was a great selection of ice cream. There were also great size options. Highly recommend. read more

Loved this milkshake! It was so delicious and appreciated the time the staff took to make it! Wish the price for the milkshake wasn't so much but you do get to keep the souvenir jar. I originally wanted one of their April specials, but they didn't have half the ingredients for it. Lots of seating inside. read more

This place has a great selection of ice cream and milkshakes. I tried the Oreo milkshake today, and it was one of the best I've ever had. I'll definitely be back for another! read more
We came here after seeing Ice and the harbor fireworks since we decided to stay the night in the area. This place looked so exciting like stacked sweets on sweets that were designed to feed the eyes and soul but it's a bit of an illusion. Like the cookies milkshake looked like it was stacked cookie crisps but you only get that if you buy the glass and they basically coat the glass so they can stick the cookie crisps on vs what looked to me initially like a delicious looking chipwich with cookie crisps. That's what my partner ordered and I ended up adding cookie crisps that I added as toppings for my regular milkshake to his to make it better. My milkshake was meh. We've had a lot of milkshakes between the time we used to spend in Baltimore and the spots we have now found for nice thick flavorful milkshakes. I got a strawberry cheesecake one here. It was not thick like when you get killer ice cream base. It was more liquid and smooth with the candy sweetness instead of actual strawberry sweetness. For the wait and the price, I would pass next time. read more

What a cute place?! A delectable milkshake and ice cream bar appropriately located across from 3 restaurants! My girlfriend asked us to join her here to enjoy some treats as she celebrated her birthday! It was a wonderful treat ! I ordered the caramel pecan dream sundae and it was sooooo yummy!! They make your order and then bring it out after calling your number. Great service and yummy treats!! read more
This place... LOVED it! Tons of options to choose from. It was really busy when we stopped by, but even with the crowd, the staff was still super friendly when we got to the front. I even took my souvenir jar with me after finishing my shake :) read more

What an amazing birthday celebration at the Yard Milkshake Bar on the National Harbor. The team working to take our orders, to make our shakes, and to ensure that we satisfied with our purchases were amazing. These three young ladies made milkshake fans out of 30 people on 10/14. We will definitely be back. Blue Bell is the best ice-cream and the additions to the mugs, and ice-cream were literally the topping on the cake. Check them out! #HappyEating read more

The yard milkshake bar can definitely turn into a nice hang out after a long walk through national harbor. Specialty milkshakes and all their custom ice cream is definitely eye catching and delicious! I had the strawberries and cream specialty milkshake and you can actually get this in sundae form. I did enjoy it especially the little bite size pieces of cheesecake inside my milkshake, but the cheesecake slice on top was rock hard, so maybe they can let the cheesecake sit in a lower temperature fridge before serving it to customers. The great thing is their straw is wide enough to allow big chucks through. I plan to come back after I sampled the salted caramel because it reminds me of the caramel praline that eddy's use to sell in the grocery store. To be honest all it was missing was some crunch feature and chocolate. Soooo good. They had a team member on the sampler line and her nickname is Nini she was super friendly and attentive. She was very patient and quick on her feet. The place had a very good amount of seating for an ice cream spot definitely more seating than I have found at like cold stone or carvel before. The whole place is a vibe and the wait time even when they are super busy is not long at all. We ordered our ice cream at 6:24pm and received it at our table (yes they brought it to us) at 6:38pm. So kudos to them for keeping a smooth working shift and customers happy. You can find our receipt with my review. For two specialty milkshakes and 2 1 scoop cups came to $55.12 after taxes. Oh and if you need a mason jar cup from your yard cup it's $1.00 each. read more

First time trying. It was good I had the blue monster. It was good. When you go in for first time it can be a little confusing. You think that you'll place your order but the person you first see will only answer questions. There's so many options and I look forward to trying something else next time. When it comes to seating, it's indoor and outdoor but limited seating. read more
So good! The jars are definitely shareable, they're huge! We were 3 of us & couldn't finish it. The cashier could have been a bit more friendlier, did not smile once & had an attitude. Other than that the ice cream was really good. read more

I was in the mood for ice cream after a long day at the harbor. We stopped by The Yard and I ordered two scoops of vanilla ice cream and a bottle of water. Fair warning or pleasant surprise, the two scoops were huge and I struggled to eat it all. A good problem to have. If you come for the milkshakes be prepared to be amazed. They look like art. I didn't get one but I took a picture. The line to order was pretty fast. The place was crowded but we managed to find seating. The restaurant is veteran owned. I'll be back. read more
Clean interior and inviting employees. Stopped in after a filling dinner and wanted a milkshake. I was craving peanut butter and asked the employee which would be the best choice since they didn't have peanut butter ice cream. She suggested a seasonal one with 15 items on it, one being peanut butter spread around the glass rim. Seemed like the peanut butter flavor got lost in all of the chocolate. There was so much going on and I wish I would have just skipped instead of paying 24$ for a single milkshake that was maybe like 16 oz at most! It had edible cookie dough, a choc covered marshmellow with nuts on it, the pb spread, a metric ton of chocolate chips and chocolate syrup sauce, and maybe whipped cream? I wanted overt peanut butter and I got smacked in the face with chocolate. I think the base ice cream was like cake batter or vanilla or chocolate, it was super hard to tell what flavor was going on besides just chocolate since i mixed it all together tryingnto just scrap the pb off the outside of the glass jar. In my opinion, not worth the price I paid for a smaller/medium milkshake. Jake n kev read more
