    calamari and chips

Local Pub in Camden with a simple bar menu. Had Calamari and chips. Service was good and quick. This is large pun with ample sitting and standing room.

It very much felt like the worlds end. Not a single ale in the place! Only at the end of my world will a pub not serve bitter. But they had a good selection of lagers, thus I lowered myself into having one. Sat down wondering why I came into a pub with no real beer, (Damn you Simon Pegg) when the local drunk/nutter decided that I was a good person to talk at. Now I look like a bulldog chewing on a wasp whilst it's suffering from the most painful condition of piles. So why me? I got told that I'm a big guy, that I'm lucky to be married, do I want a fight?, do I want to buy dope? Isn't the barmaid sexy? Do I want to go back to his flat? Finally the rain scared him off, so I quickly downed my pint of gnats piss in peace. I guess if you want to listen to metal whilst drinking lager, this is your place to go in Camden.

Wandered into this place on our London adventures and wasn't disappointed. It's a huge place with 2 levels. They play rock/metal/industrial then it looks like they have live music pretty frequently. We were there on a Tuesday evening, so it wasn't crazy busy.

Charming place with a very mysterious yet fascinating story behind it. As a witch myself I felt a very welcoming energy so to say ;). Red wedding cocktail was delicious!

We were looking for a different pub that apparently closed when we stumbled in. Very spacious with lots of metal music. Nice selection of drafts. We shared the burnt ends sandwich and chips. The beef was good but he chips were amazing!

A bit blurry but drinks include Red Wedding, Sex In The Dungeon, and Red Headed Slut!

A burger & fries (chips) to write home about! The food: Homestyle Burger with house sauce is juicy, flavorful and served on a brioche bun. It was so damn good just on its own. It didn't need cheese or extra condiments or anything. It's a perfect size, too. Not small and not excessively large. Just right. The chips (fries) were perfectly golden and crisp. The Look: the pub exterior is really gorgeous and inviting. It looks traditional on the outside but the inside is stunning. It's copper piping, dark wood, an iron staircase leading up to a second floor nice and near to the beautiful skylight roof. A huge train schedule type board announces it's rad cocktails like the Red Wedding, Sex in the Dungeon. Honestly it feels like a rad steampunk type spot on the inside. The beer selection is also satisfying with even their own The Worlds End microbrew. I can't wait to return. The Drawback: the music playing in the speakers was terrible excessively loud metal. It detracted from the experience and actually was the only reason we didn't hang out longer for more pints. I'd go back for sure but hopefully they'll have a better sound playing or at least have it lowered when I do.

Deceptively spacious, surprisingly cozy. Lizzie G. is right to say that it's an emo den. It's not surprising really - Camden is after all the West Hollywood-meets-Los Feliz equivalent to Los Angeles. An odd mix of Guns N' Roses, Cold Play and Kings of Leon was playing overhead when I had stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon. Two things I found amusing about the joint: the first is the amply spacious balcony lounge perched just above the inside bar. Second is the in-venue food stall serving both greasy spoon fare and, of all things, Thai curry. It's weird but it works. I have an inkling that this place must be pretty poppin' on a Saturday night.

I never fail to have a good night in this pub. The World's End is a great place for a beer and a bit of a dance before you move onto a club. When it's quiet during the week there's an eclectic mix of shabby sofas to relax on and chill out with friends and during the weekend you shout over the loud music, get annoyed at the terribly slow staff and disgusting, smelly toilets! These 'attributes' however don't put people off going back there because it has a great vibe and it epitomises everything that Camden is. It's a real dirty, gritty pub but despite this I always go back and so does the rest of London! I would give one piece of advice though-watch your handbag-there's always lots of pick pockets in this area. If you love rock and mixing with the weird and wonderful people of Camden then you'll have a good night here-it's definitely got personality!

Not a bad pub.... I love System of a Down, but seriously, overkill....I think they played every single song from their entire discography while we were here. The place is HUGE -- it just keeps going & going with multiple rooms throughout. They have an insane number of beers both on tap and in the bottle. My favorite, Hoegaarden, is available only in the bottle here, but I wouldn't recommend ordering it; one 12oz bottle costs more than an entire pint of everything else on draught. Not the cleanest place I've seen, but not the dirtiest either. Excellent people-watching too, I might add. Bathrooms are fucking gross. Prison toilets? Really. Reading the graffiti on the bathroom stalls is pretty amusing, however.

Remarkable, he scored and I literally walked around the corner and saw the long line to get into the pub first. I was seated immediately, however, and proceeded to enjoy a traditional Sunday Roast. Room was very pleasant (there are so many I got lost returning to my table from a bio brake. Roast was very good ( but no Lawry's) and the sides excellent. Could not decide if my favorite was the roast potatoes (crispy outside soft inside) or the glazed carrots. Yorkshire pudding was good but again, I am to used to the Lawry's and this is a different style. Peas were, well, peas, but very fresh. The sticky toffee cake was excellent and the Guinness fresh, creamy and a proper pour. Good thing because the selection of winners by the glass and half bottles of wine were both a little thin. Overall wine list was good but I was alone and not up for drinking a full bottle by myself. Overall, very enjoyable and to judge by the crowd and difficulty in getting a reservation, one of the more popular in town.

The history alone makes it worth visiting, and the location is perfect if you're exploring the area. It feels very classic London in the best way. We stopped in for a pint and honestly... the whole after-work beer culture over there is something I really need to bring back with me to the States. The beer was great, the atmosphere was lively without feeling overwhelming, and it just felt like one of those places where people naturally gather and stay awhile. Definitely worth stopping into if you're in the area.

Two story space - the ground floor feature the bar and handles walk in lunch; the upstairs is a dining room for those with reservations. Fun fact, as part of the history, the pub used to be the host of bare knuckle fights and had regulars like Charles Dickens. Wildfarmed sourdough - served with whipped salted butter and Guinness butter. Well toasted bread and the butters with salt were well made. Fuller's London Pride marinated steak and ale pie - served with seasonal veggies and red wine gravy, as well as either mash potatoes or triple cooked chips. If there is one dish London does really well, it's their pies. It was beautifully made and loaded with steak. The red wine gravy was decadent and added a perfect amount of moisture to the pie. Triple cooked chips were perfectly crispy but fluffy on the inside. Corn fed chicken breast - served with garlic and sage butter, mash potato, cavolo nero, and crispy onions. Only took a bite of this as it was my partner's dish but the bite of chicken I had was very juicy and well seasoned.
