This is three stories of books and it is worth taking a slow walk through! The books are new-book prices so they are a bit expensive but just seeing the huge selection of books and the huge store is enough. There is always someone around if you have any questions.

Holy amazing bookstore, Batman!!…read more This place is huge and stacked with books both used and new. Plus, upstairs is a plant shop and a cafe. The prices are great, and I found a few books that are hard to find in your average bookstore. Moreover, their organization and categorization is perfect, it virtually brought me to tears. Lastly, the service is friendly and nice. If you're a book lover, just go! Enjoy!

The Winding Stair Restaurant is a huge 0/5 for me though. They criticized me for trying to just get a drink after a long day of walking. I wish I could've spent more time here, perhaps eating at the same-named restaurant upstairs, but alas, my time in Dublin was all too brief.

Going about business with a quiet stalwart dignity, unfazed by trends and the need to be shiny and the next new hip thing, instead very much it's own. This place sells books, well curated second hand and new ones. The selection is pretty good considering they don't have a lot of space, and I love the way they are laid out on the central tables so you can have a gawp or a good auld rummage. That's exactly the pleasure of this place too; you go in for a look and leave with something unexpected. It's not really a bookshop you go to with a singular book in mind to purchase - sure we have Chapters for that, this place is far more enchanting and perhaps, some might say, disorganized. There's also a great second hand music store in the back (Freebird Records) with a brill Blues section and decently priced CDs and vinyl too. Long may this place last. Go in with no expectations and you may well find yourself charmed.

Its location on Talbot is unusual because this street doesn't exactly scream literary crowd. I'd say that the majority of people who wander in are interested in the Playstation section because all the games are displayed in the front of the shop. Posters inside advertise that the shop takes in your old games in exchange for some of theirs. The shop has a similar scheme with the used books. All this swapping is very communist! It also offers you three books for the price of two which is a good deal considering that the average price of one book is 5 Euro. It doesn't just stock harlequins and murder mysteries either.
