Stopped for lunch at The Wood in Glasgow Montana today. I had the fish and chips and poutine on the side. The fish was routine for me 3 pcs. of fish with cold fries. For Glasgow this place is an easy find...especially when you stay at The Cottonwood. The bar was open late and so we ate there one night and at The Wood restaurant the next night. There was a problem so we ended taking 1.5 hours to get food, but once it came it was good. I got the chicken teriyaki bowl and I can't complain for getting Asian food in the middle of Montana. read more

While traveling thru Glasgow today we stopped at The Wood restaurant for lunch. It is inside a motel. I ordered the poutine for an appetizer beings I wanted to get it while in Canada but did not. It was good. I ordered a mandarin chicken salad for lunch and my husband got the fish and chips. I enjoyed the poutine and the salad was good too. Of course it was just iceberg lettuce but was nice to get a salad. We had good service. The hotel looked nice from the lobby where the rest rooms were located. read more

Bright and airy The Wood seemed to have potential but we left rather disappointed. Our waitress was polite and friendly which was a highlight as nothing else in the evening went quite right. Two of the guys in my group ordered the prime rib 10 oz and I ordered the Cajun cream shrimp pasta. The waitress gave us an order of the prime rib, a Prime rib sandwich, and my pasta. We asked for the right order so she took away the sandwich and said that they were working on correcting the mistake. The other prime rib was ordered medium rare but came out as rare as rare could be. The steak was half fat and the broccoli was described as being bathed in salt. My pasta was drowning in oil, the cream having clumped and separated and there was no spice. It was not pleasant. The replacement order didn't come out until we had already moved onto dessert and it was evident that they took the prime rib and pan fried it but it wasn't as fatty. We had ordered dessert as an attempt to cleanse the palette and that worked as the apple pie and ice cream were rather good but it will admit this turned me off from thinking about returning for breakfast. read more

Worst place to eat in town. Will take an hour to even order your food then you'll wait another hour and they will tell you they are out of what you order. Waiters don't acknowledge for twenty minutes after being seated. Don't waste your time. read more

We ate at the bar next to the casino (aka slot/video machines). We were worried about the noise of the machines which there was none (volume was all the way down). It is gathering spot for locals and we felt very welcomed. The two sisters running the bar were awesome (polite, attentive). Menu was more expansive than you would assume and food met expectations. read more

Staying here so it was convenient. The breakfast was good had oatmeal and ham. The ham was great and oatmeal. Came for dinner and had walleye. I stopped eating it because there were a lot of bones. The staff very nice and friendly! read more

Had breakfast there this AM. Pretty standard motel food. I had eggs Benedict which were ok, but nothing to shout about. Caramel roll also just standard, service also just ok. Edible is about the best I can say about The Wood Restaurant. read more

If you are looking for an average experience, you have found your place. Nothing special, but also not bad. We were passing by on the way to Glacier and there are not many options. The wait staff was very nice and polite. Food took a long time to get and some was clearly under the warmer for a while. Bent nail IPA: good local beer, I recommend Buffalo chicken wrap: it was very average. Plenty of greens and chicken was pretty good. Kind of bland though, not hot at all. Fish and chips: not good at all, clearly frozen and microwaved, do not recommend Cranberry turkey sandwich: this was good, I recommend Like I said, everything was very average. If I could click zero stars I would. Where do I start? Twenty plus minutes before our first drinks arrived to our table after we had ordered including waters. Was told there was a special for the evening and that sparked the interest of a few people in our group. Thirty minutes after we had ordered our food we were informed that a mistake was made and that special was not available for the evening. A few people ordered side salads which arrived two full hours after our meals were originally placed. Not because they were forgotten, they were just somehow taking that long to make apparently. Absolutely unacceptable and incomprehensible that a few side salads could take two hours to get to the table. This was a full thirty minutes after our main meals had made it to our table ( which also took one hour and thirty minutes to get to the table). We ended up ordering the salads in to go boxes so we could leave (which didn't have silverware in them). So naturally we asked about the time we finished our main food if we could get our salads. The wait staffs response was very rude and said "I'm sorry that I'm not as good at serving as you." Then "accidentally" spilled a drink on the person in our group who had asked about the salads. Mind you that this was a finished drink with just liquid in the very bottom of the glass which would make it very difficult to accidentally spill straight sideways. The bill was also basically flopped on the table with no questioning as to how the bill would be split. Overall it was personally the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant establishment and it's not even close. Oh, and the food was average... at best. read more

I really enjoyed the walleye here while my father had the sirloin. Charbroiled steaks are a nice touch here but the fish was really good. Stick around for the dessert which was also spectacular. Service was tremendous. read more

We are on our way to Glacier National Park, so we spent the night at the Cottonwood Inn, RV park. As it was late we opted for "The Wood" restaurant for dinner. We ordered the French Dip with sweet potato waffle fries and the Hamburger Steak with fries. Service was a bit slow, but they did tell us it would be when we sat down. This was due to event that was happening. They do also have a full bar with some nice local beer. The meal was so good! Both are very nice portions, a bit on the large size. Bother we're nice and juicy, I did use most of the graveyard that comes with the steak, to dip my fries in( just one of those thing I like fries and gravy...). Don't let this place's plane look discourage you the food is great! Looking around at other people's meals, they all look great! read more

The serving staff are young and energetic and really hustle. They are delightful. The kitchen should be declared a toxic waste site. My clam chowder had the consistency of wet concrete. It was inedible. The prime rib was awful - tough and greasy. The baked potato was also inedible. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Stay here a lot for work. Food is good, Service is slow. I like the Cuban Pork sandwich a lot. Pickle fries are a good starter. Very Berry Chicken salad is decent if you want something lighter, has feta and a raspberry vinaigrette, with strawberries and blueberries too! H read more

If you need a very typical, fried Midwest breakfast this place is ok. For anything else that's not a burger or fried food? Good luck! And if you're a vegetarian/vegan be prepared to go home hungry with the wait staff practically laughing you out. I've seen their "salad bar" and their salads in general and iceberg lettuce (complete with brown edges) reigns supreme. And the cleanliness of the salad bar has always been iffy. The dining room itself seems fine but I can't speak for the kitchen. Honestly, if you're not from in town do yourself a favor and keep on driving. The locals have almost no standards for food so anything passes in this town. If you must eat in this town try Loaded Toad for breakfast and Fiesta Mexicana for lunch and dinner. Trust me. Stopped here for lunch while driving through the state, on a cross-country road trip. This place was a great find! Is in a hotel- but I saw that as a perk- easy to get to, with a separate entrance. We wanted to avoid chain restaurants and fast food, but still not spend too much- this was perfect. They had a salad bar lunch option for my partner and I had a burger - our meals were around $10 each. Our server was fantastic, a young man with sandy blonde hair. He was very attentive and professional, he even went back to add fresh made shrimp salad to the salad bar just for us, though it was after salad bar hours. The restaurant environment was really clean and modern with simple stylish decor. (Comfy booths too.) (Nice restrooms also). The food was delicious and filling. The menu had great options that were higher end if you wanted a more substantial dinner-style meal. I would recommend this place if you are in this town, and want a little nicer option over McDonalds, Subway and Pizza Hut. :) read more

Food just the ok side of edible. I actually got advice from another patron to avoid the steaks. So I went with an alfredo dish. The alfredo sauce was soupy. The chicken breast was thickly sliced but the pieces not separated. Most of the sauces I've had were thick and clung to the pasta. I won't go into the waiter, young and inexperienced. That's all I'll say. The Wood tortilla chips was crumbled hamburger covered by a melted cheese with some onions and tomatoes. I would have been happy to not have them. A little hard to find, as there was no address on here, look for the Cottonwood Inn as the restaurant is in the hotel. According to my ticket employee 11 was my server I won't mention her name. So I ordered a western omelette no ham add jalapenos with a side of bacon no potatoes no bread. So I get my order and start to eat this omelette and noticed it tasted funny kinda like it was cooked on a propane grill and noticed it had no meat in it. So i picked apart the whole thing and noticed all it had was vegetables and they tasted like propane and no jalapenos either. So she finally comes over and I say to #11 I think they forgot to put the meat in my omelette and that I ordered the western omelette. She told me that the western omelette only comes with ham and that I ordered the wrong thing. So I thought I had made a mistake and left it at that. Then a couple hours went by and I realized that an omelette with only ham is a Denver omelette. So I just looked at the menu and the western omelette has 3 meats which one was ham. So in closing this review I figured out I wasn't losing my mind and that #11 either doesn't know the menu or made a mistake and didn't want to admit it. I ate the bacon which was good but couldn't eat but a couple of bites of the omelette because of the propane taste. So almost $15 for four slices of bacon a couple bites of omelette and coffee. read more
