Just passing through town. We don't like eating at chains, so we gave Durum a try. Upon entering, the waitress asked if we had a reservation, and then made us feel like we were a nuisance during our entire meal. She snatched up the other two place settings and told us to sit against the wall to not block the aisle. Restaurant was very noisy and dimly lit. We ordered Alfredo noodles and broccoli. Only water to drink. The noodles were just ok. The broccoli was nearly raw! It was maybe dipped in hot water, then put on the plate. Gross. Our bill was $37!!! I really hate to say it, but save your money and go to a chain or Albertsons. read more

Well we read all the reviews and decided to give this place a try while we were in town. Staff was friendly and outgoing, we got drinks at the bar, then had dinner. A local beer on tap is what I had. Very nice Amber. I ordered the tenderloin, hubby ordered the prime rib. Mine was cooked perfectly, his was a little underdone but the flavor was really good. Baked potato was...baked potato. Nothing wrong with it. The veggies were cooked perfectly al dent, but they were smothered in butter, which was a real turn off. We thought about dessert but were stuffed. Keirsten and Brooklyn are the best! Both of them are very friendly, humble, chill, and beautiful. I'm not from here and they made my experience great. Truly the best food in town. If you end up in Glasgow, Mt and eat anywhere else, you will know what I mean. Talk to the people and work staff at this Restaurant . They are the best. We are traveling through Montana and only eating in local restaurants. So glad we tried Durum Restaurant! The food and service were excellent. At our servers suggestion I had the flat iron steak with smoked gouda/bacon au gratin potatoes and vegetables. Most excellent!!. Wish I had had room left over to try their creme brûlée, as I'm sure it would have been as good as the rest of the meal. My partner had the crab cakes that were also great and really too much for one person. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!! read more

I was not sure what to think when I first stepped into Durum restaurant. The decor obviously caters to a fine dining atmosphere, which is pleasant for sure, yet seemingly out of a place in a small town dominated by simple and modest restaurants and bars. I was a bit skeptical... but looking forward to a good, well prepared, meal. With the promise of a fine dining experience in mind, I cannot believe how severely disappointed I was with the meal. Appetizers were flavorless and dull, while my main course, a walleye fish, was even more tasteless and lethargic. I couldn't dare order dessert. Couple this with the excruciating wait times (my party was there for over two hours), I would call this my least favorite restaurant during my brief stop in town. Not recommended. read more

I visited the restaurant while I was in town on work and the choices in Glasgow were limited after a few days. I came back later in the week because I wanted some more. The steak dinner was one of the better one's I've ever had. The steak was excellently prepared. The mushroom brandy sauce and the bacon and gouda au gratin potatoes were fantastic. The menu had good depth and lots of choices. The beer selection was the best that I saw in town as well. It is on the expensive side and tries to walk a line between a bar and a fine dining establishment. With that said, it is the best place in town, and seems rather out of place in Glasgow, MT. The ambience is fine, the waitstaff was attentive and professional. We walked in with a group of about 8 of us about a half an hour before closing, and they were happy to see us. I highly recommend it, and will definitely make a point to eat there again if I'm ever even near Glasgow. read more

Upon entering, we felt very confused. There is no signs marking where to go, so unless you have been here before you wander aimlessly until you find the restaurant. Even then, once found, the place is in such odd construction, the wait staff could not see us standing at the counter waiting to be seated. I was told it was expensive, but holy balls! Nonetheless, I was sick of McDonald's so anything would have been great and thought we might give it a try. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger which was decent but nothing crazy good like I have had in the past from other restaurants. The wife ordered a Broccoli Chicken Alfredo Fettuccine. She was incredibly disappointed with hers. There was very little of the Broccoli or Chicken, and the Alfredo was "tasteless." Also, and this is what really irritated me, until it was time for the server to "up-sale" me to a dessert (which sounded awesome, but I was too full), it seemed like every time I had to ask for her to come here or anytime she came to our table, we were being a nuisance. I even had to ask for sodas! And never got a drink menu, which sucked because I would have loved to enjoy a beer with my burger. To end on a positive note, we had the Bacon and cheese quesadilla for an app. Hindu cow that was ama-za-zing. They dusted it with a Cajun seasoning that took it too the next level. phenomenal. Stopped by for early dinner on our way out of Glacier National Park. We made a good choice as everything was great. My husband and son had baseball steak, au gratin potatoes (yum) and they were thoroughly satisfied. I had the salmon, fresh veggies and sweet potato fries (yes I know, weird combo). Also delicious. The Durum is a restaurant with a separate bar. I thought it would be crowded because of all of the cars in the parking lot, but the restaurant section was roomy and quite peaceful. They offer salads, steaks, and pasta, along with a few sandwiches and burgers. It's probably the most expensive place in town to eat; the average entree price is about $18, and the dessert I ordered was $10. The blue cheese dressing has like peppers or pimentos in it which we did not like. The prime rib was ok nothing fantastic and the famous au gratin potatoes were very plain. We are doing a cross country bike trip, so we have a lot of bar food. Durum's is a very nice restaurant with a great menu of steaks, fish and pasta. It has a full bar with good selection of beer. Our pasta and fish and chicken Caesar salads were excellent. Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed. Waitress Abby was excellent. Dessert - Creme Brulee was outstanding. read more

Go in with low expectations and you'll be fine. But here's a tip: they keep the lights low so you won't see how absolutely grimy everything is. They like to appear "fine dining" but it's really anything but. This is literally "dive-y upscale" dining. Vegetarians, they do have options for you but not many. You can ask them to leave meat off things and 99% of the time they will happily do it which is rare in this area. The food is always ok, it's just the cleanliness that I have issues with. I used to eat here frequently but haven't been back in years because of the lack of cleanliness. Grime on utensils. Dirty menus. Hair in the food or on the plate. Low lights to hide the dirty room. From what I've seen of the kitchen it's bad. And, here's the kicker. If the health inspector won't eat there...neither will I. End of story. read more

I have gone to Durum a couple times now and the experience there is a roller coaster. I've had the worse service from my waitress I've ever experienced and to add to it they forgot to make a meal for one of my 6 guests and the next time they were courteous and punctual with their service and all the meals were hot and on time. One of my biggest pet peeves with restaurants is when you order a meal that comes with a salad or soup and you never see or hear about it again, but if you do happen to see it, it comes right before your meal. Durum is FAMOUS for forgetting your soup or salad, what a bummer. It seems that the staff is ever changing. There is usually a different face every time I would head in to eat or socialize at the bar. Food quality varies just as the service does. I've been blown away and extremely disappointment in the span of two visits. If you are lucky to catch them on a good night with their A-1 wait staff and cooks then you are in for a treat but if your luck takes you elsewhere be prepared to be upset with subpar service and less than appetizing food.
