I had sent in info to get info. The said they would call or email and never did. I then was emailed I had an appointment on a day I couldn't make. I left a voicemail exposing I'm a teacher and need a later appointment as it's hard to get subs and teachers don't get a lot of leave time. I called today and the lady at the Riverview location right off the rip started talking about what was owed even though I haven't even HAD AN APPOINTMENT!! I was so excited to have a woman of color and who was right down the road. Well apparently, if you're a new patient the LATEST you can get in is at 2:30! What? Most people work until 4 or so, and even then people are limited on when they can come in. I asked for April 3rd and surprise surprise, they're closed that day. I called a different location and the lady at the South Tampa laughed at me and told me TO CALL A DIFFERENT CLINIC! Even the front desk attendant doesn't want to work there. Unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and go to women's care if you can (the one that was recommended by second office lady). They're easy to book online and they seem more qualified. Yikes. How awful. read more

I had a new patient appt at 230pm. I arrived at 240. Im new to the area and was running a little late due to traffic. The waiting area was nice. I processed to the front desk but noticed a lady ahead of me was a checking in on an iPad so I stood behind her to wait my turn. As I input my information the young lady at the front desk called my name. She told me there was 15 min grace period from the scheduled appt time and since it was after that time I would have to be rescheduled. I explained that I was there but was waiting in line to sign in. She went to speak with the manager who told her that I still needed to reschedule "because of how things flow". She offered to reschedule my appt. I politely declined. As a new patient, I've never been to the office and you would think a one courtesy would have been offered or this 15 min grace period would have been explained when I scheduled the appt. Not to mention I also called before arriving to my appt. Maybe there are great doctors at this office. However, I will be looking for a different GYN office. read more

Patient Beware - Unethical Billing. This office is the worst I have ever had to deal with. My first OB appointment they ran my insurance and demanded that I pay my deductible to them in 4 installments or they would refuse to see me. Then my employer changed our insurance in January, so our deductible changed, I had to fight tooth and nail to get a refund check from them for the difference in deductibles - WHY?! Then I have to give a "refundable" deposit to them for my son's circumcision. Never got that money back, but somehow it's my fault because I didn't let them know we added him to our insurance, but the insurance company covers the procedure. Make that make sense. They never paid my insurance deductible for whatever excuse they could come up with each time I called to have them pay it. I finally get a refund check in the mail FIVE MONTHS postpartum and it's not even the correct amount. They took money from the deductible they had, without my consent, to pay for some procedure at the hospital, which probably should have billed through insurance in the first place! They only care about getting their money. Will never use them again. read more

Omg this office is beyond beautiful and sooo clean! The interior decorator did an amazing job making this office feel upscale and comfortable! The front desk staff even wear blazers instead of the ugly scrubs. It's just super adorable(I know I so sound like a female) but that's what this office is catered to lol Now on to the staff: the nurse and the Doctor were very friendly and prompt! I didn't have a long wait and I never felt rushed when addressing all of my questions and concerns with the doctor. She listed all my possible options for my concerns and we picked the best option for me. I even explained I was moving and she gave me the name and number to a gynecologist in my new location! I really liked the doctor I saw at this practice, but unfortunately the way this practice is run, is terrible. I had 3 total appointments here. My first appointment I was seen 1 hour after my appointment time. The second appointment, I was seen 50 minutes from my appointment time. So they clearly have shown a pattern of not respecting my time, but I really wanted to give them another shot because I do truly like the doctor. I am having a medical issue going on and had to make an appointment. They were getting a new scheduling system so getting an appointment was next to impossible even though I'm having an issue that made my pcp say "you need to see the gyno ASAP!" I set my appointment for 1:30pm, but when I got the appointment reminder, it said 2pm. That posed a scheduling difficulty for me so I called the office, but there were no other appointment times available so I kept the 2pm appointment even though that was not the time I set it for. I made it to my appointment timely, but I still wasn't seen after 51 minutes when I finally just requested a refund for the payment they took for my visit. While waiting for my refund, they called me back for my appointment (53 minutes after my set appointment time). I can't go to an office that won't respect my time. There were multiple people in the waiting room that had been there for over an hour when a person who did not have an appointment for that day was squeezed in and called back before all of us that had been there waiting. It's rude, disrespectful, and inconsiderate to the people that rearrange their work schedules and childcare schedules to be to their appointments timely to not be seen within a reasonable time period from the time of their appointment. This office does not care about their patients, and I'm not letting them waste any more of my time. read more

HORRIBLE customer service by people that do not seem to care how long you wait in the office. It is run extremely bad and needs to close down due to the smugness of the employees that goes along with the bad demeanor coming out of their uncaring voices when they talk to you. They tell you to come in, after fasting, for blood work and then make you wait an hour while they have some kind of meeting before they see you to do the actual test. Why they treat patients like this we do not know. They do not seem to even care about people in obvious distress waiting in the waiting room for elongated periods of time no matter what condition they are in. I have been sitting on posting this review but think its imperative not only as a patient but being a clinician professionally to speak out regarding my horrible and traumatic experience. I sought out services due to severe pelvic/vaginal pain and ovarian cysts that landed me in the hospital twice during 2020. Being a Black woman, I wanted a gynecologist of color and booked with Dr. Sharon Ingram who appeared to have positive reviews. During my first appointment, I arrived on time and wasn't seen till almost an hour an half later. First impression Dr. Ingram seemed knowledgeable. As I provide a detail history of my health and present symptomatology, I felt extremely overwhelmed and uncomfortable with the pressure to go on birth control despite me expressing past negative experiences and concerns regarding physical/mental health side effects of birth control. All within 15 minutes of her meeting me. Despite me sharing my concerns repeatedly, Dr. Ingram pretty much stated this was my only treatment option for potential diagnosis of endometriosis and provided no other treatment options. I was given an ultrasound, given a prescription for birth control and told to come back in a few weeks. The pain I was experiencing was excruciating and I was willing to give anything to experience relieve so I followed doctor orders. When I returned a few weeks later I was still in the same state as I was before: in pain with the brith control causing adverse symptoms as I knew would happen and shared with her during first appointment. I had my ultrasound in which the tech reported that she observed fluid in my fallopian tube and indicated this could be a underlying contributor to my experienced pain. For a brief moment I felt receive to have some answer. When meeting with Dr. Ingram I once again gave my present present symptomatology and even potential observation mentioned by the ultra sound technician. I was immediately dismissed. Dr. Ingram performed an exam and when I indicated where the pain is, she kept undermining what I was physically experiencing. She kept correcting me about which part I was feeling pain despite me repeating several times what I was experiencing and where I was experiencing pain. I became so frustrated I started to cry. Dr. Ingram remain emotionless with flat affect. Dr. Ingram then stated to me instead of the potential previous diagnosis she felt that I had vaginismus which is muscle spasm in the pelvic floor muscles. Then she stated the only way to address it would be a mood stabilizer and asked if I wanted the name. As a patient/client, I was absolutely disgusted. I informed her I would not accept that diagnosis for I have never experienced that nor had that diagnosis. As well, that diagnosis did not fit the symptoms that I described nor did I met the criteria. As a clinician, I was equally disgusted that a gynecologist would recommend to a client mood stabilizers as a form of treatment. That is completely out of her scope and unethical. Thats the equivalent of me as a therapist offering heart/brain medication. That's out of my scope and would be best to refer out to one that specializes. As well, it alludes to the premise that you perceive the client's experienced physical symptoms are in fact all in their head. I left her office immediately not only in pain but in utter shock, anger, disgusted, and most importantly disappointed. Even if I had vaginismus (which has been proven to in fact be inappropriate/inaccurate diagnose), the treatment that are recommended such as pelvic floor therapy and vaginal trainers weren't even offered or mentioned not once. Thankful I sent have sought another gynecologist and have consulted with my PCP and other physicians in Tampa Bay who validated that what I experienced with Dr. Ingram was completely unfitting, unethical and vile. I share my experience to not only warn other women but especially women of color. You deserve better care. I deserved better care. I would suggest that you not just walk but RUN from choosing services with Dr. Ingram. read more

I've had a pretty consistent problem with being told things were covered by insurance and then the day of my next appointment there's suddenly hundreds of dollars due before i can see the doctor. Pretty frustrating and stress when you're pregnant. Also had an experience of an inexperienced nurse trying to take my blood and completely destroyed my arm and didn't wear gloves! They had to get a different nurse and switch arms. I get that stuff happens but i was 6 months pregnant and didn't need any added stress or pain. Maybe don't put the rookie nurse on blood draws from pregnant ladies without supervision! They do a lot of teaching. There was a revolving door of student nurses and new nurses and training nurses at my Paps and labor and delivery. My last breast exam with four people in the room using me as a teaching tool yet again was a little ridiculous. I should have stopped going to this office after all the small but consistent red flags. Latest issue: They checked with my insurance for the gardasil vaccine and told me it was covered after a $200 copay. I paid the $200 and got the first two shots and then received a bill for another $386. I wouldn't have gotten them if i had to pay out of pocket. But apparently there was some error and they weren't covered. But! They tell me I've met my deductible for the year so the third shot is covered. I show up for my appointment and they tell me it's for a different location. I've never been to any other location and I've always called the same number. Oh, and the third shot will cost $300 now. So now I'm out $900 for a vaccine i don't think i even really needed, because they can't get my insurance straight. It seems like every time I've gone there, there has been some "mix up" and more money that i owe out of the blue after being told it was covered. My insurance hasn't changed. I know insurance companies are garbage (friends and family are pharmacists and spend hours a day fighting with them to get patient meds covered), but telling patients expensive meds are covered by their insurance and then turning around and billing them afterwards for hundreds of dollars is ridiculous! I'm livid. I need to find a new doctor. They just have too many doctors, too many offices, too many patients. It becomes really obvious that you're just another person through their revolving door. I took a day off work to come here to get birth control and my doctor, (dr. carter) refused to prescribe it to me.. Her reasoning was "because I had unprotected sex two weeks ago and there was a possibility I am pregnant." I am definitely not pregnant. The experience was very odd. NOT EVEN WORTH ONE STAR!! I will start off this review by saying I have never fired a doctor's office before but by the third appointment I had enough. The staff that works here from the front end gals, billing department and yes their doctor's could honestly care less about you. All they are worried about is money. Their billing practices are unethical and I was advised by my insurance company when I told them what was going on to find a different OB practice. On my first appointment I waited almost two hours to be seen, my first appointment which should have take no more than an hour and a half ended up taking almost four hours. I received no apologies, but what I did receive was a whole lot of attitude from the front end stuff who are basically completely useless. My second appointment wasn't nearly as bad but I still waited 45 minutes before I was seen and again the staff was rude and completely useless. The third appointment is where I decided I've had enough and was no longer going to come here. I was told my appointment was at 3:00. I checked in for my appointment at 2:53. For this visit I was told I having an ultrasound, my monthly visit along with my gestational diabetes test. At 3:30 I finally asked the front end gals when they expected I would be seen. From there I was informed that my ultrasound that was scheduled at 3:00 was cancelled and my appointment wasn't until 3:45. I was never called and notified of this change, I was also informed that I was not scheduled for any testing. I was shocked! A few moments later I was called in the back for my vitals and asked by the technician if I had time to do the gestational diabetes testing. I told her I did not have another another hour and a half to be there because I had a sitter watching my son and I had already sat there for almost 40 minutes waiting to be seen. I was then put in an office room to be seen by a doctor, where I saw Dr. Rains. I proceeded to tell her the issue I was having and her response to me was she had plenty more patience to see and if all I was going to do was complain she wasn't there to hear it. I was appalled by this response. I would highly recommend that if you're looking for an OB you choose a different practice other than this one because all you have is nothing but problems and stress which is something you don't need while you are pregnant. read more

New to the area so decided to find one close by. The appointments were easy to book, the front staff is professional and lets you know the cost ahear of time so there are so surprises. I dealt with Sheila a few times for payment and found her to be understanding and willing to make arrangements if neccissary. Dr Sara Veiga was my Gynecologist answers all questioms and has a great bed side manner..She found out some other issues I had that others Docs missed and scheduled me for surgery a week later.I was scared as hell...the office staff, Rns and MAs were so organized that it made for a seamless process. Dr Veiga came in to see the morning of and really helped to calm my nerves. After surgery she came by again and answered all of my questions ans comcerned without making me feel rushed. My brief experience with this clinic was extremely poor. I've moved from a different state to Florida and I was looking for transfer of care as I was 20 weeks pregnant at that time. I've contacted the clinic, asked to drop off my medical file to the clinic for reviewing and within days someone will contact me with an answer, if I am going to be accepted or not by any of their physicians. A week after dropping off the file, nobody called me, therefore I've follow up with them. I was told that the doctor who supposed to review my file is out of office/town, however she will return in 2-3 days and they will call me with an answer. 3 weeks later still no follow up. Obviously I've started looking for other doctors as a pregnant woman does not have much time to wait... When I called to speak with a manager (3 weeks after dropping off my file)she transferred me to Riverview office's nurse, who very casually asked me "what's going on, why did you call the manager"?!? Very unprofessional approach. And to make the entire situation even more unprofessional and unpleasant,the nurse advised me once again that the physician is out of office but she will review my file at her return in few days!!! I will be 24 weeks pregnant by then, so no thank you!!! I found another clinic who treats their patient the way they should be treated! read more

I am only leaving a 1 star on this review because I can't leave a review without putting one.. I arrived today as a new patient, trying to find a new doctor closer to home (my long time doctor just retired) and I was in need of my annual check up. Upon my arrival, I had all my forms completed, I was however asked to sign two more. The one form, no issue, the second form a binding arbitration form missing pages 1 and 2. When I asked for the additional pages I was told it was on the website. I said well I'm not sure I want to sign this if I don't know what it is, the front desk staff member followed it up with.. there is a video online you can watch I said do you just have the form I can read through? She (aggravated) got up from her chair, pulled a copy out and handed to me. I asked what if I don't agree to this? She said "then we don't see you". I sat back down to read it and hesitantly, agreed and signed. I went back to the counter to give back the form and asked for a copy of all that I signed today, she said we have copies on file to which I replied, I would like a copy of everything I signed. She again, aggravated, gave me copies... I noticed however she left out page 1 and 2 of the binding arbitration agreement we just talked about, I asked her for that page and was told "I can't give it to you" I said but I signed it .. I'm entitled to a copy. Her reply was again, it's online. The form, which is completely different online by the way, was not what I signed therefore not what I wanted. She again is very annoyed at this point and said I'll have to see if I can give you one. She comes back with the form and hands to me and asks "have you like been burned or something before?" Now.. I've not been burned and I dang sure don't want to start with the Womans Group of Riverview, FL. My reply was no, but I think as a person with any kind of brain, I have a right to get a copy of whatever it is I sign especially something where I'm waiving my constitutional right to something. She said nothing else.. as I waited for my name to be called all I could think about was how terrible.. my first experience as a new patient.. this is the crap someone has to go thru. I was completely rushed through my first exam as a new patient, barely spoke with the doctor.. really only spoke with the nurse practitioner whom I don't feel provided an adequate exam. My previous physician was wonderful, his staff.. impeccable, private practice and I would drive an hour just to get there. It's incredibly sad to me that something as intimate as a well woman exam could be such a horrendous and uncomfortable experience. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be needing further care from the Woman's Group in Riverview and will continue my search for a better physician. I hope this serves as a warning to anyone thinking of going here.. stay away.. stay far away.. do your research & know you're worth excellent care and service. read more

I've been using the Women's Group since I moved here from NY. Dr. Sanchez Russell has been wonderful for at least the last 12 years. Besides the wonderfully relaxing offices, the staff is great. They are busy, and the phone wait time can stretch out, but that is because they are busy. They are busy because they are the best..... well worth the time. This review is for the Riverview office. Yes, the office is decorated very nicely, but do your homework when looking for a good doctor. My first doctor at this location did too little. The second doctor did too much. I went from getting no treatment to over treated. My experience here was very painful, in more ways than one. Advice: for any woman that has never been pregnant,***** under no circumstance**** should you do an in office procedure called a hysterosonography without conscious sedation. They fill your uterus with saline and it instantly expands your never before expanded uterus. You do the math. You may pass out on the table...I almost did. Plus, this office doesn't do anything financially to reimburse you for a bad experience. They told me to find another office if I didn't like the care I received. If you can't influence the wallet of a business, then there is no ambition for that business to change their conduct! I've never needed to put reviews out like this before. Back home I had the same OB/Gyn doctor for more than 10 years. Needless to say, I will no longer be a patient here. From one woman who is a nurse, to other women, I hope this helps. read more
