I will be honest, I only went here because doctor told and near my home. Intake is fine....I had barbie....the anesthesiologist was great and the lady who put my iv in was great. The scheduling is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to call the morning of to get My appointment time and realized it was at almost 2pm. I hadn't ate for almost 24 hours by the time I got home after procedure. I literally could have went to work, but had to use my PTO for the day where I was laying around hungry and couldn't drink anything. I've been here before, but they had a time and scheduling was better. I will probably look for somewhere else next year. read more

Had a good time nurses, doctors receptionists, everybody was super great. The place was very, very clean and very modern. Highly recommend you get your procedures done. If you here, if you can Seriously, everyone there was amazing, from the nurses to the doctors and reception staff. The facility itself was incredibly clean and felt very modern. I had such a positive experience and was really impressed by the whole team. They made sure I felt well taken care of throughout my visit. Scheduled for a colonoscopy and I wasn't informed until the day before that they were waiting on clearance from my primary doctor. I called them a couple hours later and was told they received it. I get a call the next day (day of procedure) to tell me they had to cancel me. After calling my gastrointestinal doctors office, who said they have never heard of such a thing, they called the surgery center to get more information. Apparently they had been trying to get approval for weeks. Had they let me know before hand that they were having an issue, I could have (and would have) done the leg work myself! Preparing for this procedure is NOT fun and now I have to start all over again! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I had a colonoscopy there several years ago and had the most horrible experience. My gastroenterologist had me scheduled for an afternoon procedure and when I arrived at 1:00 pm they forgot about me after I checked in and wasn't taken back for over and 1 and 1/2. They began rushing and shoving forms in my face. Since my doctor had not staggered the fasting time for an afternoon procedure and because of the delay I was severely dehydrated and it took SEVEN different people to get an IV in me. After the 6th time, I told them they had one more chance and if they didn't get it, then I was cancelling. So then they sent over the phlebotomist and he got it right away, so why didn't they use him in the first place? I wrote a follow-up letter detailing my experience and never received a response or call. AVOID at all costs. Drive to Tampa if you have to. read more

Last year when I had my colonoscopy, I waited 3 hours because according to the staff, one of the doctors didn't show up & that put everyone else, back as well. As we all are aware, they try to squeeze in as many patients as possible, because they aren't making any money. Well, I don't have issues with that, but discrimination & having staff that is inadequate to perform their skills are. My caregiver was not allowed to use their restroom but three young black teenagers were. No one cleaned the restroom while I was waiting & food was constantly brought in for the staff, while the patients waited, which is totally unacceptable! There is a service entrance for all deliveries, use it! Overall, I am very disappointed in Brandon Surgical Center & those doctors that are established there. read more

I went there for a colonoscopy. The facility was very clean, the staff friendly and professional. The process and procedure was explained to me thoroughly. My only issue was the scheduling method. They call you with your appoint time, in my case it was a couple of days before the prep but that seems a little tight. Overall an excellent experience. read more

If you are a professional and expect them to make appointments and keep them. Wrong! Made an appointment 2+ months out to get the first appointment of the day. Then they called on the Friday before my appointment on Monday to tell me 11:42am. I had to cancel, and they told me I had to reschedule. When I called back to reschedule, I was told I had to call my primary care physician first in order to do so. I will be calling my primary care physician....to get a referral to a different organization. read more

What a dump!! I hate when medical facilities are old, dingy and dirty looking. Brought hubby in for his procedure. 1st issue... no where to park. Lot was totally full. What a mess. Finally parked in a non parking spot and said screw it. The waiting room is horrendous. A hodgepodge of different chairs, hardly a place to sit. Did find two close to each other with a woman hacking her head off. I could see the germs flying out of her mouth. The woman who"greeted" my husband just handed him a clipboard and said "fill these out, we'll call you". No hello or anything. I am extremely uncomfortable sitting here and am seriously thinking of Going home to wait for him to be done. Sure hope he has a better experience when he is called back to the surgical area. Had 2 procedures done at same time last week. I see some of the other reviews & it's unfortunate. I didn't have any problems with parking, waiting, etc.It was a Tues afternoon so maybe that makes a difference. Everyone I came in contact with was great - from registration to pre-op and post-op. The nurses and anesthesia doctor were fantastic. Of course, I was prepped way before my doctor got there but was still mostly on time so the center seemed to be on schedule. read more

They made an uncomfortable experience as pleasant as possible. I was a bit miffed that I had to be there at 6am for a 730 procedure, but my annoyance was largely due to the fact I couldn't have coffee before my procedure. First one in, did my paperwork, everything ran on time. Every nurse and dr I encountered was nice and professional. They answered all my questions, treated me quickly, and even had a coffee ready for me as soon as I was in recovery. The place isn't much to look at - but that doesn't matter as much as professionalism and timelines to me. read more

This facility does a phenomenal number of minor procedures and surgeries. The logistics must be a bit daunting. By default, the front desk staff have to be assertive, however they are still highly professional in getting so many people set to go. The medical staff that utilize the center are all absolutely outstanding. The admin staff helped me tremendously despite their work load. They are used to dealing with entitled baby-boomers and will not take any nonsense. If you're just a little considerate of them they will bend over backwards for you. Good people. read more

I like the dr, the nursing staff, and the anesthesiologists, but I was very disappointed upon arriving early for my 6am appt to find the place not even open yet. Even once the staff arrived, they saw us waiting outside and didn't let us all in until after 6am. They basically ignored everyone outside. I'm sorry, but if you're going to have people arrive for 6am when you open, then you should already be prepared to open. We're always being told to arrive 15 min early, so thought that applies in this situation, too. Maybe they should open at 6am, but not have the first patients arrive until 6:30am. That was a big disappointment. read more

After a 2 hour wait in a cold uncomfortable holding room, listening to folks at the nurses station talk about weddings, I had my procedure. It was quick and had no complaints. My issue is that the next day I developed a rash and swelling on the side of the face I was lying on. Now my procedure didn't have anything to do with that area. I went to 3 drs and was treated for shingles although was not really tested for it. My question is has anyone else had this issue. With so many people filed in and out I'm wondering if it was a cross contamination. read more

I had the best experience here from the time my procedure was scheduled til the moment I was walked out the door. The staff was so incredibly kind and patient. They were thorough in all aspects including billing, directions, time frames, etc. The nurses were kind and gentle. Everyone is so positive and respectful. They made my procedure so smoothly. I was a bit weary at first but man was I blown away by how amazing my experience was. They treated my husband just as well- and he was just driving me home! I hope I don't need another surgery in the future but if I do, I will absolutely know that I am in good hands. After my surgery I was given the best care - full attention, drinks, snacks, warm blankets (seriously can't top that!) and a recliner chair to sit in as I recovered. Thank you staff! read more

Billing department is a nightmare. Forced to pay entire deductible up front, they wait almost a month to submit to insurance, insurance is applying everyone else's bills to deductible. Have to wait for refund because insurance now paid them because deductible met by others and others are going to put me in collection. They actually asked me to submit my EOB's for others to prove my deductible being applied elsewhere, I believe that is some sort of HIPA violation. Will go to great lengths to avoid this facility in the future. read more

Communication is nonexistent. They leave you uninformed and when asked detailed questions, they MIS inform you. They make you wait for hours for what they said was an easy hour and a half procedure. What they don't tell you is that they don't care how long you will be waiting or when they take you back. They know you have prepared for your surgery and you are at their mercy. This place is less than professional and I advise you to do your research before you use them. Very disappointed with this situation. It is my recommendation that you go elsewhere or find a doctor that uses a different facility. read more
