This my second time having an issue with the office staff. I believe it is the same person, her name is Stephanie and she is completely rude and as soon as she starts speaking you can tell she really dislikes her job. i really wish for the sake of this practice they could finally let her go, she hung up on me and passed me to someone else who luckily was much nicer and way more helpful. Dr Hernandez is completely useless. I found a new provider. this place didn't even bothe to do simple labs. I've been walking around half dead over a year because I literally am hemorrhaging. low blood volume and low ferritin. in order for them to listen to you, you better be pregnant. I think there needs to be a gyno group strictly for women who are not pregnant. these people don't care. if I could give zero stars I would. do not go. read more

At my 6 week mark I was asked to pay over $1k for delivery. This is not best practice, I'm an insurance professional and although not illegal, it's unprofessional and very shady. What if I lose my child? What if I change practices? What if I reach my out of pocket max before delivery? Please revisit your shady policies! ***UPDATE*** Spoke with office manager, Brenda I explained that financial policy never stated prepayment of services & budget policy does not state refund of money if services are not rendered. Dr. Irene Wahba and her team are phenomenal. Dr. Wahba worked wonders and came to the hospital on her day off to accommodate my delivery and perform my sons circumcision. I cannot thank her enough. I feel confident and comfortable with her as my OBGYN. She is knowledgeable, caring and professional. I've seen the other doctors at the Lutz office and feel they too are great. If you're looking for an OBGYN this is the office for you! read more

New patient to the Women's Group I made my annual appointment and filled out new patient paperwork online. I arrived 15minutes prior. The receptionist was welcoming and collected my insurance card/driver's license. Filled out one last form. I sat waited and was called in by the Dr. Twitty's assistant Angela who took my weight and a few more details about my health background. Since I was a new patient Dr. Twitty spoke to me in her office before the exam. Was friendly and helpful in regards to my questions. She explained how: -the office sends results (through portal and you get results regardless of negative or positive) -how she prefers to treat (paps every year if you want and Mammograms for 40 years and over once a year even though it is recommended every 1-2 years she likes to be thorough). During the exam she talked you through what she was doing and was quick to get the job done. I'll be back for my next yearly. Great office and staff here! read more

Awful! Came here for a PAP and talk about getting pregnant- Mind you their website states they help with infertility (https://thewomansgrouptampa.com/infertility/) which turned out to be a lie! I have never had any blood tests or anything stating I am infertile and I just wanted FSH, LH, estradiol, TSH, Free T4 checked. I was told to go to a fertility place bc they don't do that, when asked to which doctor I was given a paper with some group. If you just need a pap at 20 and birth control bills I guess this is acceptable in Florida. Otherwise, I do not recommend this place for Obgyn/gyn issues. Finally, I highly recommend the group take down anything about infertility since they DON'T even test or help guide pregnancy!! It's false advertising!!! I would have went to a different place for a pap and blood work! read more

I want to start out by saying the staff and nurse practitioners are very helpful. I did have a slightly uncomfortable occurrence when I was supposed to be administered an IM injection and was told by the medical assistant that she would use a tiny needle. I work in the healthcare field so, I did notify her that a smaller gauge needle would not work because it has to go into the muscle. However, she proceeded and was unable to give the shot because the medication was too thick to exit the needle due to it being a SubQ needle. Anyhow, she apologized and then proceeded to give me another shot, now with the right needle. This was one isolated incident, so I didn't really make a huge deal out of it until I got a bill in the mail for the injection that was given. Despite the one incident the staff is very accommodating and nice. read more

As a new patient, I filled out a thorough medical history form, and answered the doctor's questions during the exam. I have breast implants and have pain in my right breast. I told the doctor that, and she said that the implant did feel very "hard." She asked me if I'd had the implants checked. I said that I have regular mammograms and my previous doctors always ordered ultrasound as well. She sent me with a script for a mammogram. When I filled out the paperwork at the imaging center, I noted the pain in my right breast. The technician said that my script was for a routine mammogram, not diagnostic. She called the Woman's Group and they told her to proceed with the standard mammogram--not diagnostic, but to have me call them. When I called, the doctor assistant said the doctor wanted me to come in for a breast exam. I said, "she just did a breast exam." "Well, now that you are complaining about pain in your breast, she needs you to come back in, so she can order a diagnostic mammogram." I reiterated that I'd not only told her about the issue during the exam--but also that the doctor acknowledged the difference between my two breasts (the right one feeling hard). I said, how about you ask her to order an ultrasound? She had a nurse practitioner call me and our conversation went EXACTLY like the one I'd had with the doctor assistant. I got extremely upset, because obviously the doctor never made a note in her file about MY ONLY, AND IMPORTANT HEALTH COMPLAINT DURING MY EXAM AND WANTED ME TO COME IN FOR A REDO! That told me what kind of care I'd get there. No thanks. I'll find another doctor. read more

I have a lot to tell which goes wrong at the Women's Group Offices after being a Patient for 3 weeks. First they billed me too much, so I have a credit there. Then they invoiced me the original amount of the bill, which was already over paid. After this I have schedule another appointment for an IUD. The Office called me 6 times to talk with me about costs, has send me text messages about it etc. At the end they rescheduled my appointment to another office, where they start calling me again about the costs. Also for any reason was it more expensive than in the prior office. When I asked for an explanation she said, you have to see a doctor first, this is how we do it in our office. Nothing wrong about it but it's not my fault when they internal change the office, to see the doctor was already the purpose of my last visit but want the patient to pay for it a second time. I have called them several times again to speak with the office manager or someone else who has any responsibility and what shall I say, they not answering the phone, forward you to someone else who's not answering and the call get hung up. That's a very unprofessional way to sort problems and complains of patients. An OBGYN should be a place where you can trust the people who are working there and the doctors as well. This is absolutely not the case here! I have cancelled my appointment and will never go there! read more

Dr Twiitty & team are very professional & courteous. I go here for my yearly well woman exam & pap. Dr. Twitty makes an uncomfortable routine visit very tolerable. She is social and doesn't mind telling you about herself when you're there. She is thorough and asks how you're doing in general not just the reason for the visit. I had recently become a patient with this group and from the beginning to the end, this is a very professional office and has a very nice staff. Dr. Twitty took the time to chat with me about my medical history and concerns before we even went to the exam room. I felt she took the time that most doctors don't take with patients anymore. If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the THIRD problem I've had with this office, their medical assistant Khadijah is completely unprofessional with her tone of voice and timeliness. I tried calling to reach Dr.Waba regarding a medical urgency being a high risk patient DURING office hours and I didn't receive a call back until AFTER office hours 5:30pm to be exact as I was already in the hospital because I didn't know what route to take. DO NOT GO HERE especially as a high risk patient. They are never reachable via phone and can care less to return your call. Another issue of mine is they had difficulty sending me a proof of due date because I am in the midst of receiving Medicaid and did not reschedule an appointment with their office. So they discharged me as a patient after I SPECIFICALLY told them I was in the process of transferring medical offices who accept Medicaid. You are telling me it's that difficult to email me a proof of due date so I can give it to the WIC office that I have an appointment for tomorrow? You have ALL OF MY MEDICAL records. I am a patient there currently, I already told them I will call them once I switch over so they can then transfer my medical records which THEY AGREED UPON. Seriously don't waste your time or money they can care less! The front desk staff is also TERRIBLE!!!! Attitudes everywhere! The office manager followed up with me after I informed them of the issues I was seeing. I was surprised to get that phone call and figured they would just let it all go. She did not and addressed each individual issue with me and is now working to fix the problems. I'm really glad to see that they do care and it's not just another lost patient in the books. It's my first visit here. I waited for 2 hours and was informed my doctor had a procedure and is late. I still have yet to see the doctor and have been told by 4 different staff members the reason for the delay is the new system. Nice staff. Upsetting service. read more

Her bedside manner, concern, listening to you is like no Dr I have ever experienced on this journey that started when I was 21. She is the one I wish I had caring for me the last 20+ years. I have been a patient with the Woman's Group for probably 3 years. Since I am pregnant I moved to the Land O Lakes location and am not happy. It seems that every appointment that I have, there is something wrong. They are hard to reach, they have messed and mixed up my medication at least 6 times and they make a lot of mistakes at the administration. I have showed up for appointments, that they have personally written down on a card for me, but they forgot to enter it in their system. They have taken blood from me, come to find out later that the blood they took was for a test that I declined. Their administration is always a mess and always something wrong. I do give it at least 3 stars, because the people that work there are always friendly and the office is clean and classy. read more

Just stay away. If you are expecting, find another doctors office. No one communicates with one another. Almost every appointment I was harassed for even more money for things they don't consider to be covered under prenatal care by the especially rude front office clerk. They make you prepay for EVERYTHING. They don't bill your insurance so your deductible isn't calculated correctly and you end up paying even more out of pocket. I was given paperwork and never explained anything in detail. Just asked to read and sign and felt pressured to do so. I asked about a 3D ultrasound and was told it was scheduled for my next visit. When I came in I was told they don't do a 3D ultrasound and I was lied to. Imagine looking forward to something so great for a whole month and then let down the day of. Their billing department is backwards and they don't answer any of your calls. I should be excited and enjoying my pregnancy but instead I'm dealing with being double billed for the same visits, harassed by the front office for money I don't owe yet, and lied to by all the staff. The doctors are all nice, beside Dr Trexler, I have had decent encounters. However, Dr. Crooke is the only doctor I absolutely LOVE and feel comfortable with but you have no say in what doctor delivers. You don't get to make a birth plan either. They just want more money and give me less and less every time. I wish I never started coming my here but I'm too far along to deal with switching to another practice and I've already spent over $3500 on prenatal care here! Such a disappointing experience. I am 21 weeks pregnant and tried to transfer care here because I wanted to deliver at st. Joes and my old provider kept messing up with billing. After sending my record to be reviewed, they DENIED me as a patient because I'm too high risk. I had a blood clot last year, am on Lovenox daily, and see a high risk dr. At Florida Paranatal, yet they still don't think I'm a good fit. Doctors are supposed to help people, but these seem like they only want ideal patients, which is not real life at all. Beyond upset and disappointed in these doctors. read more

This is the first OB/GYN I've ever been to that I like. It only has female employees and that's a big plus for me. Previously, I went to male doctors and I just wasn't comfortable with that. The lobby is very posh and cushy. The staff is friendly. I usually see Dr Borodo. She is fantastic, caring, knowledgable, gentle, and friendly. I can't speak for the other locations (I see they have low ratings) but this one is superb and because of that, I have been a patient there for years. I live in Tampa, near the zoo, and it is well worth the drive for me. read more

More cons than pros. I will not be going to this practice with my next pregnancy. PROS: The doctors are super nice and have excellent bedside manner. They made me feel very comfortable and at ease. They are all female. Their building looks old and non-medical, but the front office is decorated well. CONS: So many. --- The parking is very limited, and often times you can not find parking in the lot. ---Non-private area to weigh you, take BP, and ask personal questions. It's in an open area, where other patients are simply separated by a small barrier between computer stations. ---While the doctors are nice, they don't get to know you because you are encouraged to be seen by all of them since any one of them could be on call when you go into labor. I have no idea who is who and there is no relationship with the doctors. ---They collect money for all prenatal appts, delivery, and 6wk pp follow-up within the first 4 visits (for me that was $3260). Not flexible on payment extensions. When we asked for an extension, they were incredibly rude and threatened to discharge me as a patient if the full payment was not made after the 30 day extension- even though she had paid 86% of the total due. Side note- they said that they are not allowed to discharge a patient after 28 weeks, so they said that at the 28 week appointment, we would be handed discharge paperwork to find a doctor elsewhere. They treat you real sucky if you need them to work with you on payment arrangements. ---Oh and all labwork, and ultrasounds are extra fees not included with the prepayment. read more

I have been a patient of the The Woman's Group for many years. My first physician with this group was Dr. Sylvia Bevilacqua (she delivered my third child) and she was a phenomenal doctor. Dr. Bevi relocated out of state and I still miss her but, the positive spin is that I have now had the opportunity to be treated by another physician within the group. Dr. Amy Cotton is my current physician and I have to say, she is outstanding! She is knowledgeable, smart, caring, compassionate, gentle and thorough and has managed to achieve the perfect balance of expert clinician, tender-hearted counselor and witty, friend to women. I had my first appointment at the Lutz location yesterday. I was extremely impressed with everything from the cleanliness and appearance of the office, to the smooth flow and routine they have in place from the time you arrive until you leave, and most of all, with the (all female) staff. Every single staff member I interacted with portrayed professionalism and genuine friendliness towards patents and each other. I highly recommend Dr. Crooke, who I saw and was very pleased with. She has a friendly and warm personality along with a passion for her job all while portraying the confidence you want and need in a Doctor. While she obviously knows her job, she is not at all intimidating and welcomes any questions, then takes time to explain them in ways that will best help you as a patient. She broke down that uncomfortable Doctor-patient barrier during the exam by explaining each step and then talking to me about whatever as if I were a friend. It literally felt like I was at my hairdresser and the vulnerability typically felt while you lay there exposed was completely gone thanks to Dr. Crooke and her amazing skills. I'm in my 30's and have a unique gynecological history so have seen a lot of Doctors over the years and Dr. Crooke (and this office) is literally one of the best I've ever been to. There were no extra charges or extra copays as this was a standard yearly check-up so I was a bit confused by some of the other reviews saying they got charged more because they were considered a speciality office. I know they provide extra services but for a typical well woman visit (exact same procedures as anywhere else) everything from billing my insurance to payments is as standard as any other office. read more
