Very rude worker here. Tried to tell me something 'was not for sale' and was quickly corrected by the other employee. Then refused to notify me when a relatively attainable bottle would be back in stock, saying I would be '600 on the list'. For Elijah Craig Barrel Proof? C'mon man. It's not BTAC or Pappy. Stopped going here for a while because it was awful ... went back for covenience and encountered the same old men who are just nasty. Agree with others here that it is not a pleasant experience. Rude workers who have no issue with dropping an f-bomb without apology. Ladies, these men will also make extremely inappropriate remarks about you when you leave. Unprofessional, immature and just gross. Lots of other choices in the area where you will feel welcomed. read more

I understand and sympathize with the fact that most individuals who work in a liquor store may sometimes have to deal with "different clientele" (ie: drunken customers, kids with fake IDs, undercover cops, etc.); however, it is my opinion that a customer should never leave somewhere thinking about whether or not he/she should be offended by the sarcastic comments they received from a grumpy old man. Aside from this places "grumpy older men" customer service mentality, they do have a great product selection, and make sure to always stay up to date with the latest seasonal brews. But keeping your store up to date with its product selection or looking aesthetically pleasing only fills up half of the glass of consumer tastes and preferences, and we all know what happens to those who see the glass as half empty. So if you prefer a full glass, or even a glass that is 3/4 of the way full, then I would not recommend the Wine Shop. But I guess it doesn't matter how full or empty the figurative glass may be, we all look at it differently. read more

Basically, this store is weary of people who look too young to be 21 and they will make dang sure you are legit before they sell you any booze. Welcome to Marietta! I am from this part of town and I know the rules. Do not fool with these dudes- I am 29 and they still I.D. me every time I walk into the store. They have a great selection of wine, beer, and liquor, and the prices are decent. Just be sure to have your I.D. ready even if you look like you could possibly be under 21! read more

I have been going to this wine shop for several years. I get great advice about wine (and beer on occasion) that is consistently spot on. The only downside is how limited the selection is sometimes but they are able to get me what I want within a day or two if they don't have it on hand. I get great service here. I wouldn't recommend this place as a "go-to" package store since they're very limited when it comes to stock. they carry most of the popular stuff, but try not to get too crazy. if you're craving for something that's out of the ordinary, try a diff. package store. service is decent. just know that the prices here are more expensive than other wine/liquor/package stores. The red wine selection is nice, but since I'm in a white wine mood, I keep on looking. There are less than 10 varieties of Pinot Grigio (which I'm in the mood for), so I try one of eat and go to pay. We come here for most of our liquor and craft beer needs. The staff is very knowledgeable and the store is well stocked. If they don't have it, they can get it. Worth a visit if you're in the area. read more

Very Rude! They never greet you or say thank you. They just ring you up and shove the bag at you with an attitude and then say "receipt?". They all seem pissed off that you are in the store and it's a bother for them to take your money. read more

Ha Ha. I totally agree with the grumpy old men comment. I've been going to this place about once a week for 10 years because 1) they have a good wine selection and 2) it's about 1 mile from my house. I think at least two of the grumpy old men have worked there the entire 10 years and never once have they made a friendly comment as you might expect being a regular customer. It's always, and I mean ALWAYS, "cash, check or charge"? But I don't go there for the ambieance and the service is efficient if not neighborly. read more

I am typically a giver of great feedback (as my previous reviews indicate) however I would absolutely tell anyone I gave .02 about to never shop at this place. While I never expect a liquor store to be staffed with folks that can recite Hawthorne or be jamming out to Mozart, I would expect at least a neophyte understanding of booze and a minimally decent attitude. I literally watched 2 male employees (that desperately need a shower & a hug from their mommas) speak to one older male customer and a separate middle-aged woman customer in such a non-sensical attempt at condescending that I decided to stick up for the older man. While I did that, another customer yelled out "Preach it brother" sort of cheering me on for defending the poor old guy. I could not buy from this place after seeing how the staff treated customers. read more

Dishonest. Terrible customer service. I had ordered a hard to find bottle of bourbon knowing that it probably did not look good as it is a very limited offering. I was contacted by Steve asking me if I was still interested in the bottle if he could get his hands on it. I said yes. The next day I had called back to Steve to check on the status of the bottle, but Steve was not there and another employee helped me. I was told that yes indeed the bottle had arrived and he was holding it in his hands. I told him that I could not make it there at the moment but if he would put my name on the bottle and hold it for me I would come in the next couple days. No Problem, its yours I was told. I woke today and drove the 45 min to the wine shop to pick up my treasure. When I had asked Steve about it he looked me in the eye and lied to me telling me that he had not received it. I then told Steve that I spoke with another employee who had it in his hand and put my name on it. Steve then told me that he was unable to sell it to me and that he was holding for someone else. Why call me and ask if I'm still interested then refuse to sell it to me? Why Lie to me and tell me it never came in, then when I catch you in the lie refuse to sell it to me? I spent 1 1/2 hour round trip to your shop for nothing but lies and unprofessional service after you initially called me to start the process. I've been coming here since I was 8-9 with my parents. Now I'm 27 and the service is still excellent and still a lot of familiar faces. They have a large selection of wine and always have great suggestions. This is my go to spot and will continue to give them my business. read more

I have numerous retail options -- but enjoy shopping at the Wine Shop at Parkaire the most. I have lived near the shop for nearly four years (formerly lived by Emory University) and have always been impressed by the excellent customer service and large selection of wine. One of my favorite employees is Scott Ragland. He is a recent hire and is very knowledgeable about the products his store offers (or can obtain.) I have visited this store for over 15 years. Normally they have any spirit or wine product I request. However, if they didn't carry it they would special order it and telephone me when it arrived. The wine stewards have been trained extensively and and have rounded knowledge of wines. The sales professionals (they certainly know a great deal about their products) have always been extremely courteous and helpful. I have recently moved but go out of my way to shop at the Wine Shop. I go to Total Wine if I know exactly what I want to buy because of price. But if I'm looking for a new wine to try and don't know exactly what I'm looking for, I come here. These guys KNOW what they have on the shelves and they've never tried to push something that cost more than I was comfortable spending. And if I just want to look, they let me. I'm the "wine specialist" at the restaurant I work at, and I know alot about wine. These guys have shown me some things I would never have tried otherwise except at a wine tasting. Their recommendations have always been exactly what I was looking for. Not the biggest selection in town, but they've always had what I was looking for, even if I didn't know it. Will be back whenever I'm looking for something new or a little different. Prices are good too btw. read more
