Great deals on liquor in particular for example Moët($40), some Patron bottles($24), and 1.5l flavored Skky($23). They really know their wine as well. In fact! On Saturdays from 3-5 they have free wine tastings(real glasses) with a knowledgeable, not pushy stAff member. You may even make friends while there. The Savvy Cellars is your neighborhood liquor store in Sandy Springs, the store is owned by local resident Marc Whitmer and located at the intersection of Roswell Rd NE and Abernathy Rd NE in the same shopping plaza with LA Fitness. They have an extensive selection of over 700 wines, 500 liquors and 300 craft beers, all the beer is kept in a refrigerated cooler called the Beer Cave which is a nice touch. They have great prices and the staff has always been friendly anytime I've visited. It's a well kept store and it's easy to find what you're looking for. The Savvy Cellars also offers weekly tastings in their special event room next door, Le Goût (The Taste), every Saturday from 3-5 and have college football on during the tastings as well! I walked in here with the intention of purchasing something. This place was empty and looks like a warehouse. The cashier was looking at his phone and shaking his head. Two other employees were talking with each other. No one bothered to say hello or ask if I needed help. Not the place for me. I won't be coming back. read more

Wine, wine, wine yes they have spirits and a smallish amount of beer available too. Informative and helpful staff can even make special orders for you if it's available. Hinton's even had a couple of bottles of Italian I know for fact the distributor is out of nice find because it is a favorite of mine. read more

Most people probably go to Hinton's for the wine but I go for the craft beer and the bourbon. The craft beer selection isn't quite as large as Total Wine, but it's still very good for Sandy Springs and they get a few rare beers each week that tend to stay on the shelves for a couple days longer than some places. The staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable as well. I have purchased wine as well and feel like I get good advice on what to buy based on the region, styles, and price point that I prefer. read more

What a great place to get your wine and liquor. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and friendly. They do carry some beer (not tons), but they do tend to carry Strongbow, which is all I care about. They have a decent selection of single-malt scotches that keeps my Mom and brother happy, plus good pricing on the large bottles to keep your bar well-stocked. If they don't have what you need, odds are they will order it for you. They will also haul my purchases to my car for me when I can't (rare, but it has happened). Love these guys. read more

Marc helped me through every detail of picking out the proper wines to pair with food as well as the right amounts of liquor and beer for such a large event. I stopped in here after leaving the gym one day. Nothing like some wine to refresh you after a long, hard workout. Unfortunately, they don't stock the wine I was looking for. The store associate did tell me that they can get anythig you want though. All you need to provide them with is the name of the wine and if it's sold in Georgia by anyone else, they can get it. I haven't been back into the store but it seems like a great place to go grab a bottle of wine or some beer in a hurry. read more

An unbelievably rude staff, who literally took turns staring at my husband and I while we shopped. Racial profiling at its best. If your skin is a shade darker than white, find another place to shop. I was shocked and disgusted by the treatment we received here. Enough said. Edited to respond to Marc: at no time did your "diverse" (if diverse means no non-white employees) stop to greet us or ask if we needed help. John is very friendly, he works at the cash register and is ready to asist you in your purchases. This day I picked a South African blend called, The Left Bank. I really loved it but for $18 I probably won't get it all of the time. The selection at Hinton's isn't large but I bet you can order anything you want. read more

Hilton's excels in great wine along with great prices. What totally keeps me coming back is the customer service and the very knowledgable staff. Every time I go in they remember my name, know what I like and always carry my purchase to the car. This is a hidden gem in Sandy Springs, that more are certain to discover. I am not a HUGE wine fanatic, but I know a little and was looking to broaden the horizons. This store is in the LA Fitness plaza on Abernathy, and is wall to wall with a grand selection of spirits. I was most impressed with the customer service, unlike most wine stores in the area (cough TOTAL WINE) who barely acknowledge you. They have a GREAT selection of wine for the average consumer: Cabernet, Syrah, Pinot, Chardonnay, etc. I was really impressed that they carried a bottle that I have been hunting for (Silver Palm Cab) at a fraction of the cost that the distributor was going to charge me. Richard, who I believe is the owner; spent about ten minutes discussing my purchase with me. I was not shooting for any Opus One or high end bottles, so the fact that someone would care to discuss a moderately priced purchase shows A LOT of character. The only drag is that there is a LOT of construction going on nearby, so many may not get exposure to this great store. I moved to Sandy Springs two years ago and just recently came across them from a recommendation from someone on Nextdoor. I spoke to the owner about the lack of advertising.
